Hades 2 officially launches at 9am PDT worldwide!
On September 12th, SUPERGIANT GAMES announced that the full v1.0 of Hades 2 will launch on September 25th. The game has been in development for four and a half years, and the final patch of the Early Access already feels incredibly polished.

Get ready to fully immerse yourself as
Melinoë in this rogue-like dungeon crawler. Hades 2 borrows characters from Greek Mythology such as
Zeus and many other Olympian Gods. Other minor heroes of Greek myths also come to your aid in the battle against the Titan of Time, such as the boy who flew too close to the sun,
Icarus. Although the story is not locked to any existing myths, many themes, designs, and dialogues draw deep inspiration from the associated characters' ancient myths.

Starting on September 25th at 9am PDT, Hades 2 will be available for digital download on Switch 1, Switch 2, Steam, and the Epic Store. Physical copies for Switch 2 will arrive on November 20, 2025.
As for performance expectations, the Switch 2 runs Hades 2 at 120fps when docked, and at 60fps in handheld mode. The Steam Deck offers a stable 60fps or 90fps on the OLED edition. A decently powered gaming PC will have no problem running the game at well over 100fps.
According to SGG, the spoken language in Hades 2 is English, but full-text translations available in the game are: "German, Greek, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese."
Xbox and PS5
There are currently no solid plans for a release date on XBOX or PlayStation. Hades I wasn't available on these consoles for over a year after the Switch and PC releases, so it is possible that we may be dealing with a similar timeline.
Cross Progression
Full cross-save progression across all platforms will be possible: Steam, Epic, Switch 1 & 2.
Will There Be DLC or Major Updates?

SUPERGIANT GAMES has not made an official stance on whether it plans to provide any live service or updates after v1.0 releases. Hades I only received bug fixes after v1.0 and never any major content updates. The game has been in Early Access for about a year and a half, so it's not likely we'll get massive content updates, but it's also not impossible.
Should you get Early Access or Wait?

Seeing as we are so close to the v1.0 release, we'd recommend waiting until September 25th to start you Hades II journey. The Storyline from Early Access will be updated, and you'll likely benefit from waiting for the finalized early game progression. Additionally, we expect some balance changes to come with the full release, so you may find it frustrating to learn the game in its current form, only to have Curses, Weapons, or Boons have altered functionality come the 25th.
Do I need to play Hades before Hades 2
No, you do not need to play or finish the first game to play and enjoy the second. Any story themes you need to understand are explained in the beginning of the game. While you may not have the same attachment to the characters from the first game, you won't have any trouble understanding the story of Hades 2.
What to expect if you played the first Hades
Multiple brand-new mechanics are present, as well as mechanics from the first game that have been completely overhauled and improved for their Hades 2 appearance. Some of the new combat-related features are: Omega Moves, reworked Cast, Hexes replacing Calls, multiple Dashes replaced with a single Dash, plus the ability to Sprint.

Most excitingly, there are two separate paths to play in Hades 2, each with unique chambers, enemies, and Guardians! The wait is almost over, clear your schedule because Hades 2's combat and progression system is so addicting your going to want to sink hundreds of hours into mastering and exploring the vast possibilities of the Underworld, Witchcraft, and power of the Greek Gods!
