Overview

Here comes trouble! Eris, the Goddess of Strife, stands as the Guardian blocking your exit from the Rift of Thessaly. Players of the first Hades will recognize her gun as the Infernal Arms Adamant Rail. Her moveset is very similar to the Attack and Special for Zagreus when he wielded the Weapon.

In this guide, we break down every attack and phase of Eris’s fight, complete with GIFs that show her moves in action. You’ll learn how to read her patterns and dodge her tricky shots.

Whether you’re struggling to survive the chaos of her explosives or looking to perfect your run, this guide will help you come out on top, and maintain calm in the face of Strife.

TLDR Eris Guide

  • Eris rotates slowly. Stay close and rotate behind her when she's firing her gun.
  • Red is the danger zone. Anytime you see red ground, run away.
  • When Eris Dashes at you. Dash straight back and her and you'll safely go through each other.

General Tips

Positioning

Stay very close to Eris. From far away, some of her attacks are actually impossible to dodge. All of her attacks are frontal. She never attacks behind her so anytime you are behind her, you know you are safe to counterattack.

Remember you can use the two pillars to block all of her shots. When you're caught off guard or unsure how to evade, the pillars are the safest bet.

Phase 1

Rapid Fire

Eris rapidly fires a full clip at Melinoë. A faint, short-range laser will appear before she begins firing.

To evade, Dash to the side of Eris, and walk or Dash to keep rotating behind her while counterattacking.

Aerial Bombs

Eris flies up and off-screen, then drops mortars all over the battlefield.

To evade, stand on any ground that has not turned red.

Cluster Bomb

Eris lobs a cluster of bombs straight into the air, which slowly fall towards the ground.

To evade, Dash away to clear ground. All red circles will hit you with a burst of damage.

Sniper

Eris transforms her weapon into a sniper rifle. A long-range laser will lock onto Melinoë as Eris lines up her target. This is a very high damage attack, making it crucial to dodge.

To evade, you can Sprint and time your Dodge just before she fires. However, this is difficult and inconsistent, so we recommend hiding behind one of the two pillars, as shown in the GIF.

  • Weapons like, Descura that have long-range Omega Moves can be used here to sneak in some damage while you safely hide.

Burst Dash

Eris winds back, flashes white, then dashes straight at you while firing in both directions. If you are caught on either side, you take multiple hits.

The best way to evade her dash is to hold your ground and Dodge straight through her! The timing window is decent-sized here, so you can be a tiny bit early.

Phase 2

Aspect of Eris

Phase 2 begins when Eris gets down to 75% health. She'll turn invulnerable and absorb the Adamant Rails Special to give herself +100% damage to all attacks (a nod to the the Aspect of Eris Adamant Rail in the first Hades)

Stay outside of the giant red circle, and charge up an Omega move so you're ready to unleash a burst of damage as soon as her invulnerable barrier drops.

  • At 25%, then again at 10%, Eris will once again use this move to further increase her damage. Each following Phase will have a larger blast zone.

Shotgun

A huge red cone aims in front of Eris. As soon as she flashes White she's going to begin firing a wide spread of shotgun shells.

Do not try to run away from the shotgun attack because it covers a huge wide area and is impossible to avoid if you're far away from Eris

To evade, Dash right at Eris and stay behind her as she rotates. Her rotation speed on the shotgun is very slow, so this is easy to do.

  • One special note to keep in mind: if Eris' back is against the wall and you can't get behind her, stay to one side until she's about to hit you then Dash through to the other side until she rotates back.

Reinforcements

Eris flies into the sky and drops reinforcements onto the battlefield. It becomes very difficult to dodge Eris's attacks while they're on the map so try to deal with them as quickly as possible.

She's more likely to summon reinforcements if you are far away from her so remember to always stay close and there will be fewer summons for you to deal with.

Enhanced Aerial Bombs

In Phase 3, Eris drops an enhanced bombardment of aerial bombs. This time you'll need to stay on the move.

To evade, Sprint around the circumference of the map until Eris reappears on the ground. Just be sure to avoid all red blast zones.

Final Phase

“Come Here Trouble”

Eris's most destructive move. At around 10% health, she'll turn invulnerable again and lob a massive rocket into the air for one last damage boost.

As soon as you see Eris turn invulnerable, quickly Sprint to the far edge of the map on either the left or right side. 99% of the time, this will force Eris to spawn directly in front of you, where you can finish her off before she has a chance to continue her onslaught.

  • If you don't have high enough damage to kill her quickly, try to get behind a pillar to wait out her follow-up attack, and then counter with your own.
