Overview

Prometheus, the Titan who stole fire from the Gods and gave its burning flame to humanity. He stands in your way, blocking your path to Summit of Mount Olympus.

As one of the most challenging Guardians in Hades 2, his attacks come out fast, and each has multiple variations. Prometheus's mastery over fire give him deadly close-range and long-range attacks. Defeating him is a true test of timing, positioning, and endurance. Every move he unleashes will burn through your health if you’re not ready.

In this guide, we’ll break down every attack in Prometheus’s arsenal with detailed GIFs and explanations to help you recognize his patterns, dodge with precision, and counter effectively.

Whether you’re struggling to survive his giant lines of fire, or just want to perfect your technique, these tips and strategies will prepare you to extinguish his flame once and for all.

TLDR Prometheus Guide

  • All fire will damage you on contact. Once an area is covered will flames, avoid it until the fire disappears.
  • All lines of fire can be safely Dashed through. This will be important to staying close and attacking Prometheus.
  • Memorize only ONE SAFE ZONE during his Memory Flame. Then focus on running to each safe zone during the eruptions.

General Tips and Tricks

Attack Variations

Prometheus has standard and enhanced versions of each of his attacks. When you see his fists or feet light up with fire, you know the enhanced flame version of the attack is about to come out.

These have massively increased AoE, so be sure to get out of the way when you see him glowing.

Summons

Prometheus is aided by his Eagle, and standard foes. Always keep the Eagle in the back of your mind. A faint light circle will appear on the ground if the Eagle is about to sky dive.

When the Eagle or summons are on stage, you should focus on dodging, instead of trying to fight through all the chaos.

The Eagle and all summons will leave on their own after a few attacks.

Phase 1

Eagle Strikes

Every fight begins with Prometheus launching his Eagle straight at you. Dodge sideways in either direction as soon as you can, and you'll dodge this 100% of the time.

The Eagle always does 3 Dash attacks, then explodes which sends out projectiles all around it. Time dodges to avoid it's Dash Attack, then run away to avoid the projectiles.

  • The Eagle returns! Later in the fight, a light circle will appear on the ground Dash away from this because the eagle is about to slam down and then start his normal attack sequence.

Fire Circle

Prometheus leaps into the air, then slams down with a fiery fist.

The enhanced version produces a circle of fire around him. Dash away as he's leaping. Then you can Dash back into the circle and attack him without taking damage.

  • DO NOT walk across the flames.

Flame Kick

The enhanced Flame Kicks shoots out a very fast flame projectile.

To evade, Dash sideways out of its path.

  • If you are close to Prometheus when he Flame Kicks, then the most consistent means of dodging this attack is to Dash straight through the flame and his body.

Flame Uppercut

Prometheus fist glows with fire, he pulls back his arm and unleashes and explosive flame uppercut.

To evade, Dash away in any direction. You can go through him if close, or just play it safe and keep your distance.

Floor is Lava

A wide long straight line appears in front of Prometheus, which then erupts in a trail of flames.

To evade, get super close to Prometheus and Sprint in circles around him. He tracks your movement, but you can Sprint faster than he can rotate.

  • Once you have Vow of Frenzy activated, you'll need to time the eruption with his arm sway, and dodge just before the flames appear as he will rotate faster than you can Sprint.

Flame Eruption

A huge red circle appears around Melinoë. Sprint around in circles until the the opaque blue flames in the center, reach the red outline.
The moment the two flames touch, Dash out of the circle before it erupts!

Phase 2

Memory Flame

When you get Prometheus down to 75% health, he's jump out of the arena and appear at the bottom of your screen. Three red highlight lines will appear across the arena.

Anywhere the red highlights do not appear is considered a SAFE ZONE.

MEMORIZE the order the red highlights appear in, because the following bursts of fire will appear in the exact same order.

Tips to help you Memorize

  1. Before the fight, assign the SAFE ZONES names.
    1. ex: Top, Middle, Bottom; A,B,C; 1,2,3... etc. (whatever works best for you.)
  2. See where the first red highlights appear and go stand in the safe zone.
    1. Now you don't have to remember where the first flames appear.
  3. Memorize only ONE SAFE ZONE.
    1. Bottom, Top.
  4. Pause when needed, and repeat the order to yourself.
  5. Sprint to the SAFE ZONES in the corresponding order.

Phase 3 Memory Flame

Once you get Prometheus down to 25% health, he'll once again jump out of the arena. This time there will be 5 Memory Flames instead of 3.

  • Use the exact same method listed for the Phase 2 version. Just two more SAFE ZONES to memorize.

Memory Flame Dodge

When memory fails you, your skills can overcome. If you get distracted or forget, just dodge from LEFT to RIGHT, with the precise timing of each flame.

  • This is obviously way harder, and less consistent to do. Should only be used as a last resort or when your priority is aura farming.

Reinforcements

Prometheus summons reinforcements which appear in a circle all around the arena.

Unlike the adds in every other Guardian fight, you actually do not need to fight these foes. Just focus on evading their attacks and they will leave after a few seconds.

Flames Punches

Prometheus brings both his fists up to his chest, then releases a barrage of fire projectiles.

The start up of Flame Punches is very fast, and from medium to long range, these are nearly impossible to dodge (especially if you have Vow of Frenzy on). As you Sprint around the Flames will curve at you.

Since you should be staying close for most of the fight, you can evade this attack by Dashing through, or diagonally towards Prometheus. Each individual flame only deals 10 Damage, so don't stress if you get clipped by one.
