Curse
Hera's status effect is to inflict Hitch on enemies. All damage dealt to one foe inflicted by Hitch is shared by all other foes inflicted with Hitch. The effect lasts 8+ seconds making it easy to move around the chamber and switch targets and keep hitting the shared damage.
Magick Builds
Born Gain is also one of, if not the very best, Magick Boon in Hades 2. The only time you're likely to prime out is if you're running with Vow of Hubris rank 2 + high priming Boons like
Static Shock.
Fine Line further solidifies
Hera as the premiere Omega build God. You could have an incredibly powerful build using only her Boons.
Sworn Strike (or
Sworn Flourish), +
Bridal Glow +
Fine Line +
Extended Family will deal massive amounts of damage all on their own.
Non-Magick Builds
If you have
Hera in your God pool in a build that doesn't use frequent Omega moves,
Proper Upbringing and
Bridal Glow are great choices. Hitch will also remain a great Curse to have from her Attack/Special/Cast.
Weapon Aspect Synergies
The best Weapons to pair with
Hera are generally going to be those that deal damage in a large AoE, or are focused on their Omega Moves.
Xinth's
Aspect of Shiva is perfect to throw
Sworn Flourish on because the bouncing Omegas Specials repeatedly explode in a large area, and deal high damage.
Because Hitch is so strong, there is not a Weapon Aspect in the game that won't do well with
Hera on one of its moves (Attack or Special).
Further examples include:
Aspect of Melinoë because Hitch easily spreads with Specials, and
Born Gain covers your Magick needs.
Aspect of Momus,
Sworn Strike for the damage increase, and the pulsing Omega Attacks cover enemies.-
Aspect of Thanatos Attack. The standard and Omega Attacks are amazing with
Sworn Strike. The crit damage of the Aspect is good with the % damage boost from the Boon. - Try to get one of the Omega Attack Hammers
Psychic Whirlwind or
Furious Whirlwind, and you'll quickly feel the power.
- Try to get one of the Omega Attack Hammers
God Pairings for Hera Builds
Hitch causes foes to share damage, so the best Gods to pair with Hera are those that deal high levels of damage. No one is better at that than
Zeus in most cases. Blitz damage with Hitch goes crazy. Additionally, they both benefit from
Extended Family.
Aphrodite, is also great to add Weak. Plus,
Heart Breaker fits perfectly in any
Hera Magick Build. Try for their Duo,
Ecstatic Obsession, becuase it will help in every encoutner.
Hephaestus adds defense and assuming you already are going to have high max Magick,
Uncanny Fortitude should be a huge HP boost.
Standard and Guardian Encounters
Hitch is a curse that sees its full potential in standard encounters. The more enemies are on you screen, the better Hitch damage ends up. Consequently, this also means when you are facing a single Guardian, hitch doesn't do anything.
Against
Scylla, however, Hitch is insanely strong because all three sirens in that fight share a single health pool. Get them all afflicted by Hitch and you'll melt through their health bar.
When to Target Hera
Any time you are planning to use a lot of Omega Moves, you should try to get
Hera in your God Pool. If you go into the 2nd region without a Gain Boon, equipping
Iridescent Fan to get
Born Gain is well worth it.
Also, if you are trying to use more Vow of Frenzy but are struggling to beat the timer, Hitch helps speed up chamber clears and get you to each Guardian faster.
