Wylder is a playable character class in Elden Ring: Nightreign. He's the typical souls-like character, with versatile arsenal of abilities, capable of handling nearly any threat thrown his way. His official description calls him a "character with well-balanced abilities. Easy to handle, challenging to master."
Armed with a greatsword, a small shield, and wrist-mounted grappling hook, this Nightfarer prefers to fight in melee combat, and is capable of unleashing devastating damage while staying mobile due to his Claw Shot skill.
The Claw Shot allows him to launch a grappling hook that can either pull him towards the enemy, or pull the enemy towards him depending on the size of the foe. Additionally, it can be used on terrain, which allows Wylder to quickly reposition.
Wylder was available to play during Nightreign Playtest, and was officially revealed by Bandai Namco, showcasing his abilities and playstyle.
Wylder Character Sheet
"A nomad swordsman in relentless pursuit of the Nightlord"
Wylder's abilities make him a very versatile character in any combat scenario. His kit is also easy to learn, but hard to master, as his grappling hook can be a very powerful tool in skilled hands.
Just as any other Nightfarer, Wylder has Passive Ability - a skill that passively provides bonuses or effects, Character Skill - a short cooldown active ability, that can either deal damage or provide utility, and Ultimate Art - a long cooldown ability that can unleash devastating damage or much needed utility in the heat of the combat.
Passive Ability - Sixth Sense
"Cheat death a single time."
This ability allows Wylder's to avoid the instance of damage that would've killed him otherwise. Upon activation, Wylder performs a dodge automatically. Sixth Sense ability works only once per resting at Site of Grace, so being cautious is still advisable.
Character Skill - Claw Shot
"Launch grappling claw to rope foes in or move swiftly by retracting."
Claw Shot is an ability that makes Wylder a highly versatile and mobile fighter. It allows him to quickly reposition by traversing terrain, pull himself towards bigger enemies, or pull smaller enemies towards himself. Additionally, attacks can be chained into this ability, allowing Wylder to inflict damage to enemies upon grappling them or towards them, lowering the risk of trading hits.
It has a cooldown of about 6-7 seconds.
Claw Shot can be chained into Onslaught Strike for massive damage.
Ultimate Art - Onslaught Stake
"Powerful single attack that launches an iron stake with a great explosion."
Wylder's Ultimate Art causes him to load his grappling hook, and unleash it with a powerful explosive blast that will deal high damage and stagger the enemy, launching Wylder backwards. Onslaught Strike has invincibility frames (i-frames) during execution, so it can be used to avoid incoming damage during the animation.
This ability can be charged for much greater damage and stagger or even stun potential at the cost of higher risk due to you standing still charging it, because unlike executing the ability, the charging animation doesn't have i-frames.
This ability has a relatively long cooldown, but can be recharged quicker by defeating enemies, rewarding an aggressive playstyle.
This allows him to effectively deal with any type of threat in early game, allowing for poise-breaking parries, which can lead to devastating critical hits. The Upward Cut weapon skill, on the other hand, allows him to deal high single-target damage, knocking smaller enemies into the air, which can be useful to crowd control your enemy.
Wylder's preferred weapon of choice is usually any Greatsword, as he gets his own unique moveset with them. However, he can effectively use any weapon in the game, and likely will have huge variety of builds in Elden Ring: Nightreign.
Relics
As any other class, Wylder gains access to 3 relic slots - RED, RED, and BLUE. Different relics can be slotted in these sockets in Roundtable Hold, after you obtain them. This will allow Wylder to recieve powerful passive bonuses, which will make future runs in Limveld noticeably easier.
Note that the relic sockets for your Nightfarer can be changed by purchasing certain items from a Merchant.
Wylder - Leveling, Stats and Attributes
In Elden Ring: Nightreign, you can spend your runes at the Site of Grace to level up your character. Leveling up increases Hit Points, Focus Points (Mana), and Stamina. While not explicitly shown in the game, it also increases hidden attributes, such as Strength, Dexterity, Faith or Intelligence.
Attributes Scaling
Wylder is all-round character, and it reflects in his attributes. He is heavily focused on Vigor and Strength with Dexterity and Endurance being complimentary focus. This allows him to effectively wield majority of weapons in Nightreign.
Credit to Zullie the Witch for finding the stats for each attribute.

Wylder - Strengths and Weaknesses
As every other character in Elden Ring: Nightreign, Wylder comes with his own strengths and weaknesses.
His particular strengths are:
Good in any situation, as he is a very versatile character.
Has a death avoidance mechanic, which makes him an excellent choice for anyone learning the game.
Wylder’s Ultimate ability is almost certain to stagger, stun, or at the very least make any boss flinch if charged, creating openings for high damage output from your whole party, and protecting you from retaliation due to possibility to trade blows.
Wylder is a character with high mobility, due to the low-cooldown nature of his Claw Shot skill.
His particular weaknesses are:
While a versatile character, Wylder doesn’t best other characters on their unique strengths.
The long cooldown he has on his ultimate, his only high damage ability, makes him fall behind other characters in ability damage throughout a long match.
His Sixth Sense is a useful ability to prevent dying, but it only works once per resting at Site of Grace. While Wylder's passive protect him from dying, it can feel underwhelming, especially for highly skilled players, who do not go down easily.
Wylder - Core Playstyle and Builds
As it was already mentioned, Wylder is focused mainly on melee combat, and likely has solid growth of Strength and Dexterity with each level up, making any physical damage weapon a deadly tool in his hands.
You want weapons that either deal pure physical daamge, or have Blood Loss, Poison, Scarlet Rot or Frostbite as their status ailments.
Since you can have 6 weapons equipped at all times, you can choose one or two weapons that you will actively use in combat, and stack the rest, as their passive bonuses are still active, even if weapons themselves are not held in hands.
For weapon types, it is recommended to go for either of:
