Classes in Nightreign

Each class in Elden Ring: Nightreign comes with its strength and weaknesses, their own set of abilities, and playstyle. The characters start with set equipment, but can use any weapons found during each run through Limveld. Unlike the original Elden Ring, the spinoff doesn't have attribute requirements for weapons, nor do weapons have weight. This means that any hero can essentially run any Build in Nightreign, but it is highly advisable to optimize your loadouts around core strengths of your chosen class.

Some classes, such as Wylder and Guardian, are relatively easy and simple to play, while offering powerful tools to defeat enemies or provide utility to themselves or they team. Other classes, such as Recluse and Executor, will be harder to use to full potential do to the nature of their kits.

Additionally, Nightfarers have preferred weapon types, and get unique movesets with Armaments of that type.

Class Abilities

Each character class in Nightreign comes with unique set of skills - 3 abilities, which are:

  • Passive Ability - A bonus or utility that is always active. For example, Recluse's passive allows her to replenish FP, while Wylder's passive allows him to cheat death once per Site of Grace usage.
  • Character Skill - An ability with a relatively short cooldown that can either deal damage or provide utility. For example, Wylder's Claw Shot allows him to pull enemies towards himself, or pull himself towards larger enemies.
  • Ultimate Art - A powerful ability with long cooldown that can either deal devastating damage or provide utility. For example, Guardian's Wings of Salvation allows him to leap in the air, and create a protective area upon landing, which additionally revives downed allies. Ultimate abilities have longer cooldowns, but can gain increased charges while defeating Nightreign bosses and enemies.

Character's Equipment and Inventory

As it has been mentioned earlier, each Nightfarer starts on Day 1 with their own equipment. Which always includes weapon with predetermined Ash of War (Weapon Skill), and for some characters - Consumables, Catalysts, or Shields. It is also worth mentioning that every class in Elden Ring: Nightreign will be able to wield any armament in the game with only restriction being character level.

During each run in Limveld, you will be able to find new weapons, shields, catalysts, and unitality items, such as Talismans and Consumables, which you can then equip to your character using inventory. In total, there are:

  • 3 slots for Right hand armament
  • 3 slots for Left hand armament
  • 2 slots for Talismans
  • 4 slots for Consumables

Nightfarer's Stats, Attributes, and Leveling

Each class in Elden Ring: Nightreign has its own progression of stats depending on the level. They all start with different HP, FP, and Stamina levels, and their growth is preditermined, meaning you can't influence your Nightfarer's stat growth directly with each level up. Since the game is based on Elden Ring, and we've been shown that weapons have attribute scaling, it is safe to assume that each character not only has predetermined HP, FP and Stamina growth, but also growth of attributes such as Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence or Faith.

The strength of both offense and defence of each class is determined by level, which will allow you to use better armaments, and will increase your stats and attributes, as well as additional bonuses you might discover during each run in Limveld, such as weapon passives or dormant powers.
