Scholar is a playable character class in Elden Ring: Nightreign, released with The Forsaken Hollows DLC. This Nightfarer specializes in applying buffs to the team, and debuffs to the enmies through usage of his skills, and makes for an excellent support for the party.
While not as strong in combat as other classes, Scholar takes advantage of his S scaling in Arcane, allowing him to apply harmful ailments, such as Scarlet Rot or Poison to enemies with ease.
Scholar's abilities lean heavily into the support for the team, either through buffing the party, or debuffing the enemies. This Nightfarer gets more benefits from using consumables, thanks to his passive ability, and is able to provide powerful statuses for allies, or heavily debuff enemies through the use of his character skill.
Passive Ability - Bagcraft
"Store additional resources. Level up the power or effect of items by using them."
This ability allows Scholar to increase the amount of consumables he can carry at all times, as well as level up their effects with more usages of said consumables. Each consumable can level up two times per match, gaining up to two additional effects.
Character Skill - Analyze
"Study your enemies. The longer you observe, the better your combat advantage."
Analyze allows Scholar to focus on the enemies, or allies and analyze them. Once the analysis complete, Scholar is able to apply debuffs to enemies, or buffs to allies. The speed of Analyze increases depending on how close the Scholar is to his targets.
Ultimate Art - Communion
"Taboo Knowledge: Damage is shared by linked enemies and can heal threaded allies."
Scholar's ultimate allows him to link enemies with each other, making it so if a single target takes damage, all the link target take the same amount of damage. This ultimate also allows Scholar to link his allies, sharing the healing done between them instead.
Scholar - Equipment
Starting Equipment
Scholar starts the game with Scholar's Thrusting Sword, and Thrusting Swords archetype of weapons is his preferred choice.
Scholar - Leveling, Stats and Attributes
In Elden Ring: Nightreign, you can spend your runes at the Site of Grace to level up your character. Leveling up increases Hit Points, Focus Points (Mana), and Stamina. While not explicitly shown in the game, it also increases hidden attributes, such as Strength, Dexterity, Faith or Intelligence.
Attributes Scaling
Scholar is an intended support character. As such, he doesn't really shine in combat, having D in Strength, and C scaling in Faith, Intelligence and Dexterity. However, Scholar is still able to deal some noticeable damage using his S in Arcane scaling. Below you will find a table showcasing all of the Scholar's attribute scalings.

Scholar - Strengths and Weaknesses
As every other character in Elden Ring: Nightreign, Scholar comes with his own strengths and weaknesses.
His particular strengths are:
Excellent support capabilities.
Able to help the party clear groups of enemies in a matter of seconds.
S in Arcane allows Scholar to apply devastating status ailments on his enemies.
His particular weaknesses are:
Low mobility.
Using character skill locks Scholar in place, making him vulnurable to attacks and interruptions.
Can be less versatile compared to other Nightfarers.
Not a good choice for solo play.
Scholar - Core Playstyle and Builds
As it was already mentioned, Scholar is focused mainly on supporting allies and debuffing enemies.
High scaling in Arcane means you always want weapons that either deal pure physical damage, or have Blood Loss, Poison, Scarlet Rot or Frostbiteas their status ailments. Perfect option for Scholar would be Antspur Rapier, since it's his preferred weapon type, and it applies Scarlet Rot.
Scholar is all about using consumables, so don't shy away from greases, throwing pots, and such. Great examples are:
Poison Grease, Rot Grease, Fetid Pot, etc.
