Revenant - Nightreign Class Overview

The Revenant was the last Nightfarer to be revealed out of all the classes in Elden Ring: Nightreign. Her playstyle is centered around using three different summoned creatures (Helen, Frederick, and Sebastian) to deal damage and otherwise provide utility to her team.

As a summoner, the Revenant is inherently squishy with very low HP scaling. You'll need to mind your positioning well since she doesn't have any mobility options.

Her ultimate, Immortal March, is one of the best in the game, granting her team immortality and instantly reviving any downed allies.

Along with the Duchess, she is an unlockable character that becomes available to play after you defeat her in combat a few hours into the game.

How to Unlock the Revenant

At the Small Jar Bazaar, you can spend 1500 Murk currency to purchase the Besmirched Frame relic.

A ghost will then appear in your hold that will offer an optional battle against the Revenant and her three summons.

Upon defeating her, she'll join you as a playable Nightfarer.

Revenant - Abilities

Passive Ability - Necromancy

Revenant's Passive Ability Icon - Necromancy

"Raise enemy ghosts to fight as allies. Ghosts are summoned to fight, but are fleeting and dissipate after some time."

Note that this effect only works if Revenant get the killing blow and has a probability, it doesn't always happen. It also isn't that useful in boss fights unless there are adds.

Character Skill - Summon Spirit

Revenant's Character Skill Icon - Summon Spirit

"Play lyre to summon fallen family to rally in battle. Choose to summon Helen the agile page, Frederick the burly cook, or Sebastian the doting butler."

She has three different summons to choose from that each have their own cooldown:

  • Helen - Smallest summon that provides fast attacks onto a single target - dies pretty quickly.
  • Frederick - Medium sized summon that provides slower but powerful blows that can cleave and stagger.
  • Sebastian - Large skeleton summon that can't move and is best served for tanking due to its high health pool.

Ultimate Art - Immortal March

Revenant's Ultimate Icon - Immortal March

"Release vengeful ire to make self and nearby allies immortal. Revives near-death allies, and transforms family into immortal warriors."

One of the best ultimates in the game since it can be a trump card in the most dire of situations. It not only provides defensive utility with revival and immortality, but it also causes your current summoned spirit to cast a special attack.

Upon casting and while in effect, the Revenant's face splits to reveal a skeleton beneath it.

Casting the ultimate also activates a special move based on your Summoned Spirit.

  • Helen - Activates a rapid attack combo for fast-single target DPS.
  • Frederick - Activates a spinning attack that AoE cleaves and staggers.
  • Sebastian - Activates a long-range laser beam.

Revenant - Equipment

Starting Equipment

The Revenant starts out with a unique set of spectral Claws with White Shadow's Lure, and a Finger Seal.

Relics

The Revenant starts with access to 3 relic slots - BLUE, BLUE, YELLOW. Different relics can be slotted in these sockets in Roundtable Hold based on their corresponding colors after you obtain them. This is the permanent progression in Nightreign, basically having more optimal starts as you find better relics.

Note that the relic sockets for your Nightfarer can be changed by purchasing certain items from a Merchant.

Revenant - Leveling, Stats and Attributes

In Elden Ring: Nightreign, you can spend your runes at the Site of Grace to level up your character. Leveling up increases Hit Points, Focus Points (Mana), and Stamina. While not explicitly shown in the game, it also increases hidden attributes, such as Strength, Dexterity, Faith, or Intelligence.

Hit Points, Focus Points and Stamina Growth

The Revenant, like the Recluse, has a very low D scaling in HP but has a FP scaling of A. This aligns with her identity as a powerful summoner who relies on her pets to protect her and hold enemy aggro. Below, you can find a table showcasing Revenant's HP, FP and Stamina growth per level.

Calculation

HP = 80 + (VIG * 20)

FP = 45 + (MND * 5)

Revenant - Strengths and Weaknesses

Just like the other Nightfarers, the Revenant has her own set of unique strengths and weaknesses.

Her notable strengths are:

  • She has one of the best ultimates in the game, allowing her to turn the tide with a massive resurrect or immortality to her team.
  • Her variety of summons give her unique versatility as she can adapt her choice based on the situation at hand.
  • One of the best in managing aggro due to her summons and Necromancy passive.

Weaknesses you'll have to keep in mind are:

  • High skill cap due to her inherent lack of defenses and having to juggle more resources.
  • Lacks long range abilities, her summons all need to be in close range.
  • More item dependent compared to other NIghtfarers (high Faith scaling but can't recover FP with abilities alone)

Revenant - Playstyle and Builds

If you're familiar with something like a puppet or pet class like Necromancer from Diablo 4, the Revenant is quite similar. She utilizes her ensemble of summons for different situations and generally wants to avoid being in the fray herself due to being fragile compared to other classes.

Compared to other Nightfarers, she hardly has any defensive options so you'll need to position carefully and make sure your summons keep aggro off of you.

Overall, she's a hybrid of a tank and supportive class offering unique utility depending on which summon she uses in particular situations.

When she scales to gets items and FP regen, she also becomes a damage threat. Look for:
