Status Effects, Standard Gun, "Deputy" w/ Dragon's Breath, and more!

Do it all Gun build for your everyday Gun Amon needs.

All Playstyles with ONE SKILL TREE

This build can be played at True UVH6 but can take A LOT better gear than just Normal UVH6 and it's all about difficulty for difficulty. This guide will be based around playing True UVH6 so some "must haves" may not be as needed.

EX: Force of Nature and Groundbreaker are big parts of this build but may not be as needed in non true UVH6. In UVH5 those 2 skills were not needed but enemies have A LOT more health now (YAY)


This is also now AMON'S STRONGEST BUILD as Heavy Ordnance can't keep up as fast because of all the enemy health in bossing.

READ ME: Aim On, Standard Gun, Status Effects, "Deputy" Style and Tediore have the same exact skill tree. These are just to organize items and playstyle so it isn't overwhelming.

The other build variants are different "do it all" skill tree specs which may focus a little bit more on one thing than the other

Action Skill:

Calamity - used for the easy bonus element. The movement speed and shield recharge helps with survivability

Force of Nature - Double dipping explosion based on the last 10 STRONGEST hits IF that hit applied a prime stack. MUST HAVE FOR BOSSING. You will notice the explosion itself may not get the kill on non flesh bars but it builds up Groundbreaker which will get the finishing blow

Pyroclast - Go to for mobbing to extend duration. Not as good for splash guns as you have to be close for this but if a Firewerks projectile gets a kill while you are close to the enemy then you get AS duration returned.

Stormcutter - proc detonations, extend AS duration, and give AS and Ordnance Cooldown. A lot easier to apply Forge skill damage for detonations compared to base Molten Slam.

Hoarcleave - great if you need to freeze badasses to throw Slippy for great damage. I like this a lot for Ordonite Processors.

Red Tree:

Impetus - increased movement speed for Bullet Train & recharge rate for survivability

What Burns Within - increases Onslaughter & Dragon's Breath

Gut Punch - Damage boost that double dips in Force of Nature detonation and Groundbreaker

Tritanium Knuckles - Skill damage boosts Berserk bonus element and Force of Nature. Both bonuses boost Groundbreaker

Bullet Storm - gun damage that goes into I Am A Gun

Forged In Steel - Immunity to damage which helps survivability. Not a focus for survivability just kind of nice. And we spam our Forgeskill pretty often.

Bloodlust - gain some lifesteal and reload speed which is nice but really to get down the tree for capstone

Berserk - Cryo bonus element for your guns and melee. Mainly here for the guns. Does not apply to Force of Nature nor DoTs. This will apply to (but never stack) Groundbreaker This is a key skill

There Is Only Red - Boosts your Berserk bonus element by up to 210% at 5/5. 420% at 10/5. This is a key skill

My Touch Is Death - activates your kill skills. Procced by Slippy. Mainly helps with There Is Only Red. Some class mod choices can get good kill skill skills. This is a key skill

Catastrophe - increased crit chance and crit damage for your guns and whatever else crits from crit chance. Easy to keep up with Onslaughter bonus element and Electrical Fire

Dragon's Breath - going only 1/5 for the skill damage conversion to our gun shots for bossing. Can get more points for the amp boost but in bossing we already have 350% so getting 80% isn't as important. This is a key skill

Fists of Stone - Using Slippy you can easily keep up your Forgeskill. This is a key skill

Electrical Fire - Mainly for helping keep up Catastrophe but on a DoT focused set up it can be a solid 50% DoT. Important skill for DoT Focus

Green Tree:

Executioner - more crit damage

Bolt Action - gun inheriting bonus element that can help create more crits for more ricochets in mobbing

Vital Organs - crit chance is amazing for all the crit damage we have as well as more procs of jakobs ricochet when it is applicable

Raging Inferno - This is a double dipping status effect that can proc off of Force of Nature for a triple dip allowing for amazing alternative bossing option instead of Berserk + Groundbreaker. This is a key skill

Gathering Storm and Get The Lead Out can also be replaced for any of the other three top skills

The order of guns listed is not by power

Guns:

Standard Gun

Oscar Mike - My favorite for bossing. Using the Space Laser underbarrel w/ big shot skills/mechanics. I've seen up to 24k base damage. Used 14k and 20k and both did great. I'm not saying it's the best bossing weapon but it's consistently powerful which is great. Not as good for enemies that constantly move Works great in Dragon's Breath version as well

Rooker - the underbarrel is VERY GOOD for mobbing. Not as good for mobbing after the jakobs extra projectile fix for the gun. Get 2 or 3 of these and you can cycle it easily while still spamming a bunch of them. Or just use 1 or 2 and be fine. Works great in Dragon's Breath version as well

Jakobs Shotgun w/ Spread Launcher - probably the best underbarrel for 1 shotting bosses. Use 3/3 High Caliber so that the bullets can hit twice when angled correctly. Ending w/ 10 Primed Stacks. Highest damage is 34k.

Kickballer or Maliwan Shotgun w/ Beam Tosser - also amazing for bossing. Can get up to 20k on a purple. All elements are good. Works great in Dragon's Breath version as well

Potato Thrower IV or Torgue AR w/ Airstrike - not to be confused with Airstrike. Used for the Vile crystal phases in Bloomreaper but also does well in bossing. Works great in Dragon's Breath version as well

Order AR or Goalkeeper w/ Kill Drone - might be one of the fastest clearing guns in the game when paired w/ Firewerks. Kills enemies on their own. Can get up to 4k base damage on a purple. I think I have seen 3k on a Goalkeeper. Get 4 Kill Drone guns and just cycle them. Works great in Dragon's Breath version as well

Ripper SMG or Hellfire w/ Shrapnel Cannon & Torgue Stickies - big damage. The underbarrel also applies stickies making it great for bossing. Looking for at least 3k damage on cannons

Shalashaska - the ricochets allow for supreme mobbing

    • Torgue (Impact Mag) - allows for use of Pumper for easier hits & ricochets hitting the ground and hitting the enemy again
    • Daedalus (Underbarrel/Multi-Loader) Shotgun - more pellets means more ricochets

Stray - homing projectiles make it amazing for mobbing. Paired w/ Primal Surge it's1 even better

    • Daedalus (Underbarrel/Multi-Loader) SMG - allows for faster fire rate and more ammo in reserves
    • Jakobs (Ricochet Accessory) - allows for better mobbing

Wombo Combo - the "underbarrel" explosion is really good for mobbing

Kaoson - w/ 4% sticky

G.M.R. - w/ Jakobs ricochet part

Stop Gap - amazing for mobbing. a little clunky to use at first but it deletes stuff Personal Favorite

Complex Root - w/ Atlas & Jakobs parts do weird stuff making it great for bossing

Bod - 5x damage go brrrrr. DO NOT use this with Dragon's Breath. It breaks the 5x damage effect. Can use w/ a Class mod in Primal Surge for better spam

Queen's Rest - sticky gun. Get Ripper as well for mag spam. Also can use a Primal Surge class mod

Fisheye - w/ jakobs ricochet part. Amazing for mobbing Personal Favorite

Goalkeeper - w/ Jakobs ricochet part

Status Effect

Maliwan Shotgun Stellium w/ Energy Disc - Highest DoT as possible used with Maliwan Primed Potency. Get w/ Jakobs part ideally. Shock for general use and Corrosive for certain corrosive bosses. Not as strong as a fully focused DoT Amon build but still very good. Also great for mobbing w/ the base shot ignoring the underbarrel. The underbarrel is still nice for badasses. For more gun DoT options and explanation check out Girthquake's DoT Shot Amon Build. You can easily incorporate more DoT stuff into this build ENERGY DISC IS CURRENTLY BUGGED AND DOES NOT APPLY STATUS EFFECTS. DEVS ARE AWARE. KEEPING THIS HERE UNTIL FIXED

Beam Tosser - with energy disc underbarrel not working with dots we now use Beam Tosser. This used to not apply dots but it can with enough status chance. Stack as much chance as possible.

Dragons Breath/Deputy

Hot Slugger

Linebacker - first hit is doing the big damage

Truck - w/ torgue impact & Daedalus Shotgun

Hellwalker

Boomslang w/ Daedalus Shotgun

Tediore

Laser Disker - highest hitting damage tediore. Shooting & high mag

Inscriber - w/ Shooting part and high mag.

Murmur - w/ shooting part and high mag.

Ruby's Grasp - w/ High Mag

Chuck - w Replicator Homing

Tediores are very easy to use on this set up even if it's not an optimal skill tree. Check out My Dedicated Tediore Amon Build for more info and can throw gear from that onto here.

Ordnance:

Slippy - Main Grenade. Used to proc My Touch Is Death and Fists of Stone. Get + 1 charge part.

Jakobs Grenade Crit Knife - used for Raging Inferno and Gun Status Effects

Shield:

Firewerks - Used for mobbing. Really helps with single target focused weapons. Gets Berserk bonus element

Watts 4 Dinner - Easy shock bonus element. Easy Overshield.

  • Amp - For bossing and Dragon's Breath playstyle (up to 150%)
  • Siphon - for survivability

Guardian Angel - used w/ Triple Amp for the fastest recharge rate and delay on an Amp shield, Also good for bossing.

Super Soldier - Good for slower shooting guns for ammo regen + movement speed and fire rate are nice. Get siphon part.

Protean Cell - bonus element that applies to EVERYTHING including Status Effects making it the best for bossing w/ Status Effects.

Class Mod:

Passives to look out for: Skill Damage & Skill Crit Chance

Lamplighter - go to for mobbing. Easy uptime on Action Skill. We used to just go Shatterwight but player damage has increased high enough that a more damage focused Class Mod isn't needed so we have better QoL. Some weapons work better than others so combining it w/ Pyroclast and Stormcutter can still be a great choice

Shatterwight for points in Berserk - Go to for bossing. 420% cryo bonus element w/ instant access to cryo damage from static roll to boost it even more already. This is a very important class mod

Furnace for points in Raging Inferno - Alternative go to for bossing. Allows for a stronger Triple Dip.

Torchbearer - w/ points in Wield the Storm. Go to for Status Effects

Cyborg - w/ points in Primal Surge to prevent reloading. Especially good for Sticky guns. It takes from reserves so it is NOT infinite ammo.

Stormcaller - w/ points into Bolt Action or Lightning Rod. Not the best but not the worst. Works w/ Status Effects and guns. Especially "Deputy" Style. Bolt Action is consistent damage while Lightning Rod is for flashy 1 shots.

Repkit:

Triple Bypass - lots of activations for your passive and forNow With Caffeine which will cycle Calamity

  • AS Cooldown - for even better cycling with Calamity
  • Amp - For bossing and Dragon's Breath playstyle
  • Anything that boost your damage

Enhancement:

Passives to look for: gun damage and gun type damage

You are basically using any good enhancement that synergizes w/ your guns. I will list a couple I know work great

Jakobs Enhancement - Bounce Pass (extra ricochet), Piercer (20% crit chance), and Sequencer (increased damage after critting)

Torgue Enhancement - Head Ringer (increase damage and splash radius) and Air Burst (projectiles explode when in proximity of enemy)

Ripper Enhancement - High Roller (increased damage on consecutive hits) and Short Circuit (chance to increase fire rate after reload)

Vladof Enhancement - Bullet Hose (chance for extra projectile) and Box Magazine (increased fire rate and mag size)

Order Enhancement - Power Shot (increased damage on full charge)

Atlas Enhancement - Trauma Bond (increased damage w/ Target Lock) and Protractor (chance to not consume ammo)

Maliwan Enhancement - Primed Potency (100% status chance after reload) and Transfuser (spread dots after kill) This is only for Status Effect part. Primed potency is a MUST HAVE

Tediore Enhancement - Banger (50% increased damage to reload), Digi-Divider (chance to throw another projectile on reload), and Recycler (restore 50% of mag size on reload) This is only for Tediore Chuck part. Banger is the go to for bossing but others are nice for mobbing

2/3 High Caliber - The Gun Damage is additive with Enhancement passive gun damage and mult with the general damage boosts. Always take.

High Caliber is the only MUST HAVE firmware. Everything else is situational

3/3 Skillcraft - skill damage and crit chance applies to Berserk, Force of Nature and Groundbreaker making it HUGE for boosting damage. This is a very important firmware for standard gun amon

3/3 Deadeye - Lots of crit damage. Only boosts weakspot hits and not crit chance hits. Crit chance hits does stack the effect.

3/3 Daed-dy O - used for Dots. This applies to DoTs which means works w/ Energy Discs. Start on main firing mode then swap to Energy Disc before shooting to benefit from this bonus. Also good for gun 1 shots if Skillcraft is not available

3/3 High Caliber 1/3 Airstrike 1/3 Anything - For Status effects for non Energy Disc shots from the Stellium. The pierce from High Caliber allows you to apply multiple DOTs to enemies by hitting them with both the pass through AND the explosion on the ground. Combine this with the Stellium and Maliwan Primed Potency for some MEGA DOTS. Airstrike w/ at least 1/3 for splash radius to help the ground explosion hit the enemy again.

2/3 Bullets to Spare 1/3 Get Throwin - used for Tediore chucks. Get Throwin applies to Tediore chucks and a pure mult only additive w/ Banger enhancement

Anything that increases DPS w/ Reload Speed, Fire Rate, Mag Size, etc

Specializations

I Am A Gun - applies to Force of Nature, Berserk, and Dragon's Breath, Onslaughter bonus element, and Groundbreaker

Bullet Train - used to buff guns and put into I Am A Gun

Riddle You This - used to buff guns and put into I Am A Gun. Not as good if you aren't applying gun damage quickly.

Bossing:

Groundbreaker - this is going to be huge for some bosses where you can't get the kill from just the gun and Force of Nature. Groundbreaker gets Berserk as well which helps damage a lot. Groundbreaker will take in the millions of damage from your gun and millions of damage from force of nature then go through the melee formula. Swap w/ Now With Caffeine for this. You can also use this in mobbing where I would prob swap Riddle You This. This is not used for status effects since they don't stack Groundbreaker

Other Options:

Overkill - for Dragon's Breath style build

The Best Defense - bonus double dips into Force of Nature

CQC - some nice fire rate

One Shot, One Kill - for Dragon's Breath style build

Contamination - for Status Effect guns that don't benefit from the Maliwan Primed Potency enhancement or when using Primal Surge

For Status Effects - Now With Caffeine, Bullet Train, The Best Defense. Then anything else.

Gameplay

Standard Gun

Activate action skill for damage bonus. Use Stormcutter for starting Berserk. Throw Slippy for kill skills and Fists of Stone. Shoot gun. Activate Stormcutter when available. Use Repkit when needed for healing or cooldown. Reload your gun occasionally for Bolt Action if your gun allows for that easily

Dragon's Breath/Deputy

Activate action skill for damage bonus. Use Stormcutter for starting Berserk. Throw Slippy to activate Dragon's Breath and kill skills. Use Repkit if using amp part. Make sure Shield Amp is active if using. Shoot gun. Activate Stormcutter when available.

Big Bossing

Berserk

Activate Repkit for Amp. Activate Onslaughter for bonus element. Use Stormcutter to activate Berserk. Throw Slippy to activate Dragon's Breath and proc kill skills via My Touch Is Death as well as Fists of Stone for getting back Stormcutter. Make sure Amp Shield is full. Shoot gun. Activate Stormcutter on boss for Force of Nature once at 10 Primed Stacks. If the boss isn't dead then punch w/ Onslaughter for Groundbreaker.

Raging Inferno

Activate Repkit for Amp. Activate Onslaughter for bonus element. Throw Crit Knife for crit chance. Shoot gun. Activate Forgeskill on enemy. Keep throwing Crit Knife for crit chance on Raging Inferno. Can punch w/ Onslaughter for Groundbreaker if you don't have enough damage

Status Effect

Make sure your gun is fully reloaded for the effect of Maliwan Primed Potency. Shoot gun. Reload. Shoot gun. Reload. Yes it's that simple. Can do similar to above playstyle and take advantage of Amp. Or just use other things for survivability or clear speed. Use Repkit to get Onslaughter back faster or for healing. Throw Slippy when needed to activate kill skills and Fists of Stone.

Bossing - Make sure Primed Potency is active. Keep on Primary mode. Use Repkit for Amp. Slam for Protean Cell. Activate Stormcutter for Forged In Steel to help protect you. Then swap to Underbarrel for Daed-dy O. Shoot. Then throw Crit Knife AFTER SHOOTING. This is to prevent Dragon's Breath converting shot to fire. You can throw BEFORE if going against a Flesh Boss.

Tediore

Activate Onslaughter. Use Stormcutter for Berserk. Throw Slippy for kill skills and Fists of Stone. Get chuckin.

Bossing - Activate Onslaughter for bonus element. Use Stormcutter for Berserk. Throw Slippy for kill skills and Fists of Stone for getting back Stormcutter. Either Slam for Protean Cell or make sure you have Overshield for Watts 4 Dinner bonus element. Get chuckin. Activate Stormcutter on boss for Force of Nature once at 10 Primed Stacks. If the boss isn't dead then punch w/ Onslaughter for Groundbreaker

BLOOMREAPER

GUARANTEED PLATINUMS ON THIS SETUP

Gear used: 2 Airstrike Underbarrel Torgue AR, 2 Fire Beam Tosser Maliwan Shotgun, Amp Triple Bypass, Triple Amp Watts 4 Dinner, +1 Charge Slippy, Shatterwight w/ +5 Berserk, Head Ringer Torgue Enhancement w/ Assault Rifle Splash Radius, Normal Firmware & Specialization

First use Amp on Repkit.

When Bloomreaper starts spawning activate Stormcutter for Berserk and throw Slippy where the vile crystals will spawn to stack There Is Only Red as well as give you Dragon's Breath. DO NOT ACTIVATE YOUR ACTION SKILL UNTIL TOLD SO

When the crystals spawn or right before they spawn shoot Airstrike Underbarrel on the left or right of the boss NOT IN THE CENTER. There is a bug where it will hit on the top of the boss and not touch the ground. Experience will get you used to the sweet spot. After crystals explode shoot your 2nd Airstrike Underbarrel at the floating orbs same as last time on the left or right.

Bloomreaper will now start going into its next phase. While this is happening work on throwing Slippy at enemies for Fists of Stone and There Is Only Red so Stormcutter is ready to get Berserk back up and have high stacks of There Is Only Red for the bonus element. Also make sure your Amp from repkit and shield is ready

Stand on one of the higher platforms and hope Bloomreaper jumps to you and also doesn't do a second jump. If he goes somewhere else or second jump then follow after him. You will be fine you have time.

Activate Onslaughter and shoot your first Beam Tosser 3 times and angle it upwards or downwards depending where you are on the boss. If this doesn't take it to the next phase then activate Stormcutter again to proc Force of Nature or use Onslaughter punch if Stormcutter isn't available. If you still aren't at the next phase then you can use Onslaughter punch again to proc Groundbreaker based off of Force of Nature. If you used Onslaughter punch for Force of Nature activation then you also procced Groundbreaker for your first Beamtosser shots.

While waiting for the final phase make sure to keep throwing Slippy at enemies for keeping up There Is Only Red and Berserk just like last time. Also use Repkit again for Amp.

Once Bloomreaper is on its final phase you will shoot your second Beam Tosser 3 times to kill the boss. It should be dead but if not then you can slam the ground next to the boss and proc Groundbreaker. It is very unlikely that Onslaughter will still be active for the final phase to use Force of Nature and/or ranged Groundbreaker.

  • Removed alt grenade options from main spec as it doesn't work anymore without Tempered Pyre. Slippy is just too good. Again can see Easier Melee alt spec for more grenade options.
  • Working on updating Status Effect portion as it's kinda goated with sauce and so much stronger than believed before
