Build Overview

Yeet Witch Vex!

Chuck it. This build is all about optimizing Tediore reloads on Vex to a point where they are damaging enough to be a very serious build and one of the strongest setups she has.

You will find different build variants below. I don't particularly recommend any specific one over the other, since they all have their strong points. Feel free to pick what you think suits you better from their overviews.

  • Build made in collaboration with Zee.
  • Many thanks to JoeForLong for all his Tediore testing and building.

Strengths And Weaknesses

  • Extremely smooth mobbing
  • Among the best burst damage Vex can achieve for bossing
  • Easy to play, but also has a high ceiling for those looking to min-max
  • Build variants with different strengths and a hybrid gun + melee playstyle
  • Farming for good Tediores is a pain

Build Variants

Yeet Witch has great peaks, very high QOL and is well-suited for endgame and raid bossing. It has great Mortal Terror trigger rates due to Specters and Prismatic Weaponry.

Action Skill Dead Ringer

Coven

  • Specters provide great Mortal Terror trigger support and excellent crit chance.
  • Reapers bring aggro relief and health regen for Vex and any other minions.

The Fourth Seal

Idle Hands

  • Must grab. Reload speed is a large DPS increase for this build.

Sanguine Fiends

  • Decent sustain for the Specters.

Grave Assault and Grave Fiends

  • Grave Assault is great for
  • Grave Fiends is a great general boost, especially to Bloodletter, with it being a natural double dip.

Prismatic Weaponry

  • Prismatic Weaponry an ok Bonus Element. The fact it works on Specters mens it contributes a lot to Mortal Terror trigger rates.

Recurrence

  • Deceptively strong damage boost on this build due to On Hit Gun Damage increases being worth 3x on the 'Shooting' and 'Shooting Replicator' reload variants, and 2x on Chuck.

Vexcalation

Leeching Attunement

  • Chuck and Ruby's Grasp are very solid generalist weapons that are forced Kinetic (Chuck) or can roll Kinetic (Ruby's Grasp), which is of course a great generalist Element. This makes Leeching Attunement a very useful pick with high uptime and utility.
  • It will also boost the Bonus Element from Prismatic Weaponry by +15% while Leeching Attunement is active.

Bloodletter

Grave Sights, Grave Implements and Grave Power

  • The Crit Damage from Grave Sights is a natural double dip for Bloodletter crits.
  • The Gun Damage from Grave Implements is worth 3x on the 'Shooting' and 'Shooting Replicator' reload variants, and 2x on Chuck.
    • It's at 1.5x effectiveness for Prismatic Weaponry due to I Am A Gun.
    • It also feeds bleed damage at half effectiveness through I Am A Gun.

Target Prescience and Keen Mind

  • Prescience works on tediore throws. We rely on this as our base crit chance for triggering bleeds. Tediore throws can also be manually aimed at crit spots.
  • Keen Mind gives our bleeds access to crit damage.

Phase Pocket

  • Good magazine size boost. Essential for Tediore chucking. Unfortunately doesn't double when a Dead Ringer minion is alive, since that doesn't count as an Active Action Skill.

WEAPONS

In general for Tediore Throws, you're looking for the highest Base Damage + Mag Size combination you can find.

  • There's a different situation, where you can look for highest Base Damage at any cost to Mag Size, meaning you spend less ammo on reloads. Especially useful for mobbing and general ammo conservation.
    • An example is going for a Torgue (Impact Mag) on your Ruby's Grasp rather than simply the biggest normal mag.
  • Keep in mind there's part locks on some guns, so it's not so clear-cut what you can get without outside knowledge or going through many, many drops.
  • The 'Mirv' and 'Legs' variants are pretty meh reload modifiers.

Generalist & Mobbing Weapons

Chuck

Excellent generalist weapon, performs well on pretty much any scenario, including bossing.

  • 'Replicator Homing', 'Replicator Javelin' and non-replicator variants of the same type: they are all very good and situationally better than each other.
    • The default variant without extra reload modifiers is also very nice and has a little more damage than the others. It can be a decent choice for things like breaking Bloomreaper Crystals without wasting too much ammo, or if you're feeling like going more traditional.
    • The Chuck benefits 2x from On Hit Gun Damage boosts, making skills like Grave Implements, Conjunction and Riddle You This very nice for it.

Ruby's Grasp

Another excellent generalist weapon. Big damage, multi-hits and homing. Effortless mobbing, and it can even kill bosses.

  • Can roll Daedalus (Underbarrel/Multi-Loader) Mode Switches, meaning it can be used with different ammo pools for maximum flexibility. Pait that with Torgue (Impact Mag) and you get a lot more ammo efficiency from your reloads.
    • 'SMG Mode' has an excellent pool for mobbing, as does 'Assault Rifle'.

BrickhouseMercuriousVladof SMG

Tertiary choices, but Brickhouse, Mercurious, Birt's Bees and other Vladof SMG (including purples) can be fine to have as a backup ammo pool in case you don't have access to more ammo pools on your Ruby's Grasp.

  • For maximum output, you want the 'Shooting' or 'Shooting Replicator' variants.
    • If you prefer other reload types, it's fine and they will work well. However, do keep in mind you'll be missing out on the 3x Gun Damage from the above reloads.

Single Target & Bossing Weapons

Laser Disker

Overall best option for Tediore bossing at the moment. The legendary effect also comes in handy in various fights.

Always drops elemental, which makes it easier to find variants to cover all matchups.

  • For maximum output, you want the 'Shooting' or 'Shooting Replicator' variants.
    • If you prefer other reload types, it's fine and they will work well. However, do keep in mind you'll be missing out on the 3x Gun Damage from the above reloads.
  • Can roll Daedalus (Underbarrel/Multi-Loader) Mode Switches, meaning it can be used with different ammo pools for ammo efficiency, especially during prolonged fights.
    • 'SMG Mode' has a deep pool, followed by 'Pistol Mode'.
    • The 'Sniper Mode' can achieve the absolute highest chuck damage, but you'll basically only get one throw out of it. That can be enough for Vex against most bosses.
  • The highest reload damage comes from having Ripper (Charge Mag) + Daedalus (Underbarrel/Multi-Loader) Sniper Mode, but the only real application this has are funny boss one-shots or as a fight opener.

Inscriber

One of the strongest Tediore reloads in the game, with very high potential. Also works as an alternate ammo pool for mobbing.

  • For maximum output, you want the 'Shooting' or 'Shooting Replicator' variants.
    • If you prefer other reload types, it's fine and they will work well. However, do keep in mind you'll be missing out on the 3x Gun Damage from the above reloads.
  • Can roll Daedalus (Underbarrel/Multi-Loader) Mode Switches, meaning it can be used with different ammo pools for maximum flexibility.
    • 'SMG Mode' has a deep pool, as does 'Assault Rifle'.
  • The Torgue (Impact Mag) rolls have the highest base damage but a lower potential mag size. They're very nice for ammo conservation, and can work very well for bossing anyway.

Tediore Shotgun

EZ-Blast Tediore Shotgun is a great option for high burst damage chucking.

  • For maximum output, you want the 'Shooting' or 'Shooting Replicator' variants.
    • Daedalus (Underbarrel/Multi-Loader) Assault Rifle Mode (or other modes) allows access to a deeper ammo pool with still respectable damage. Useful if you want to insert this gun on a mobbing loop too.

Hair Trigger

The Hair Trigger has a bit of a (easy) learning curve since you have to hold the button for a bit before throwing so you don't end up killing yourself, but otherwise it can have pretty nice chuck damage.

Assuming perfect parts, it doesn't compete with Laser Disker too well, since comparatively it has a worse ammo pool and a bit worse chuck damage.

  • For maximum output, you want the 'Shooting' variant.

T.K's Wave

Very fun option for chucking, but getting the best parts for it is a pain.

  • Atlas (Dart Underbarrel) or Atlas (Grenade Underbarrel), alongside Tediore (Shooting Thrown Gun) is a very nice roll. The Atlas tracker works on the shots fired by the reloaded gun.

MurmurDivided FocusRowan's Charge

  • Murmur is one of the stronger Tediore reloads in the game, but it's not really farmable and loses out against the better options.
  • Divided Focus is a decent choice.
  • Rowan's Charge is a decent replacement that can roll Tediore licenses.

REPKIT

Order Repkit , Triple Bypass and AF1000 are the favored Repkit choices.

Look for these effects, or combinations of them if applicable:

  • Enrage (Experimental)
  • Reload Speed (Dextrous)
  • Elemental Affinity (Reactive)
  • Accelarator (Adrenalized)
  • Go Go Gadget (Nootropic)

ORDNANCE

Crit Knife Jakobs Grenade

  • Great bossing choice due to the DPS increase and Mortal Terror synergy.

Slippy

  • If you want to play around a Little Sister Shield with Boxer Jabbing, this is a great choice since its hits can trigger Boxer Jabbing.
    • You can optionally go for a lower level Slippy to avoid self-damage accidents.

Lingering + Exacting Grenades and Artillery + Ricochet Grenades

  • Can be helpful for Mortal Terror and fun for mobbing.

CLASS MODS

Stat rolls to look out for on any class mod are:

  • Gun Damage
  • Gun Crit Chance
  • Skill Damage
  • Skill Crit Chance
  • Reload Speed

Commander Vex Class Mod

My favorite class mod for this setup, even if not always the best. It is able to provide a nice damage boost, alongside massive utility. Perfect for mobbing and more than enough for bossing.

  • +5 Grave Implements; +1 Infusion and +1 Overprotective
  • +5 Infusion; +2 Grave Implements
    • Both of these options are very nice rolls. The important thing to note here is that Infusion is one additional source of Mortal Terror procs, making the Specters super consistent at triggering 6 Kill Skill stacks for us.
    • Conversely, this also means you have another damage source eating up your bleed stacks, which can become a problem unless gearbox ever lets minions have their own bleeds or allows us toggle the ability for minions to trigger bleeds. You can try a roll without Infusion if that ends up bothering you too much.

Living Weapon

Boring, but effective. This is a nice Class Mod for this build. It can, in fact, outperform Commander, but is not as consistent.

+3 Grave Power; +4 Mourning or +4 Grave Fiends

Psion Vex Class Mod

Extremely high bossing peaks can be achieved with this. The only caveat it runs into is the fact Specters can override your strong bleeds. The mobbing performance is acceptable, however we care much less about bleed ticks while mobbing, so it doesn't really justify itself.

  • +5 Bloodletter; +2 Leeching Attunement

Teen Witch

Overall safe pick and farmable. Works for all scenarios and provides further sustain to both Minions and Vex. Not the peak damage in this build variant, but very useful still.

  • +5 Conjunction; +2 Grave Thirst
    • Corporeal is also not a bad roll. Try to have at least +1 Grave Thirst so the minions can benefit from it.

SHIELD

Watts 4 Dinner

  • x2 Siphon, or Siphon + Vagabond. Overall great pick.
    • However, this can make you run into unfavorable bleed overrides due to the 20 stack cap even easier because of the Bonus Shock.

Little Sister

  • x2 Turtle is a nice defensive option.
  • An offensive option is Boxer + Positive Reinforcement or Armor Segment.
    • Pairs very well with Slippy to force Drone spawns.

Hopscotch and Cindershelly

Firewerks

  • Excellent choice for mobbing, can speed up some clear times significantly.

ENHANCEMENT

Stat rolls to look out for on any enhancement are:

  • Gun / Gun Type Damage
  • Gun / Gun Type Mag Size
  • Reload Speed

Hydrator Tediore Enhancement

  • Very nice bossing option. Works for general use too.
  • The damage increase from Digi-Divider gets less relevant on the 'Replicator' reload weapons. However, since we have Bloodletter and other stacking skills, it is still very useful there.

Quencher | Recycler Tediore Enhancement

  • Nice for mobbing and ammo conservation. It works for bossing too, just has less offensive power but more ammo sustain.
  • Recycler actually lets you continue to throw weapons even if your ammo reserve is empty.

Banger Tediore Enhancement

  • Has access to three stat rolls and is simply a great damage boost. In terms of consistency, this one can be king if you find a nicely-rolled version.
  • Hydrator may have higher peaks, but it's a wholly mixed situation that depends on many factors. Simply go for the best you find of the two.

Firmware

Repkit & Ordnance
Repkit FirmwareBullets to Spare
Ordnance FirmwareDaed-dy O
Utilities
Class Mod FirmwareGet Throwin
Shield FirmwareBullets to Spare
Enhancement FirmwareDaed-dy O

2/3 Bullets to Spare | 2/3 Daed-dy O | 1/3 Get Throwin

  • This is THE setup for passive maximum damage per throw. Strong for any reload.

2/3 Bullets to Spare | 1/3 Get Throwin | 1/3 Heating Up | 1/3 Oscar Mike

  • Great setup for general use that maximizes throws per second.
  • Oscar Mike can be swapped for 2/3 Get Throwin or 1/3 Airstrike. The splash radius can be useful for some reloads and situations.

On tediore throws, the Ordnance Damage from 1/3 Get Throwin and the extra damage from the Banger Tediore Enhancement are actually on their own portion of the formula, being additive to each other and a mult to the rest. This makes them a VERY strong boost.

Specialization

Specialization 1The Best Defense
Specialization 2Riddle You This
Specialization 3I Am A Gun
Specialization 4Bullet Train

The Best Defense | Riddle You This | I Am A Gun | Bullet Train

  • Great setup for general use.

Other Options

  • Contamination
  • Now With Caffeine
  • A Honed Mind

Gameplay

Mobbing

Spawn Dead Ringer Specters and/or Reapers. Pace your spawns so that you don't run out of Dead Ringer charges instantly.

Proceed to chuck your preferred Chuck or Ruby's Grasp for the situation. Everywhere. They are your most ammo-efficient mobbing tools, especially if you roll Torgue Magazine + Daedalus Modes on the Ruby's Grasp. Both are also capable of good bossing damage.

Bossing

Spawn Dead Ringer Specters. They will stack your kill skills for you. For prolonged fights, pace your spawns so that you don't run out of Dead Ringer charges instantly.

Hit Crit Knife Jakobs Grenade in preparation for your throw(s). Chuck your bossing weapon(s) of choice.
