While each individual Nightfarer has its strengths and weaknesses, some of them are likely to be stronger than others due to factors of RNG, difficulty, consistency, strengths of builds and more. This tier list covers the best Nightfarers for playing with randoms.

Nightreign Tier List for Playing with Random Strangers
Playing with strangers in Nightreign can be challenging - it's a game that heavily rewards coordination and teamwork, but lacks communication options outside of simple pings.
Having a balanced team comp, teammates who will trade drops with you, and so on will not be happening every game.
In this Nightreign Tier List for playing with random teammates, we've ranked Nightfarers based on their ability to succeed in unpredictable team environments.
Remember that every Nightfarer is viable in solo play, so anything can work with strangers in theory - however, if you're good enough to play Nightreign solo you likely don't need tier lists.
Otherwise, stick around! If you're a brand new player, we recommend checking out our Beginner Tier List instead.

S-tier Explanations
In S-tier for our tier list for playing with randoms, we have the Ironeye, Raider, Executor, and Wylder.
These classes offer the best package of survivability and damage output that allows you to be self-sufficient and carry your team.
They'll give you the best shot of succeeding if you're playing with players of lesser skill, knowledge, or coordination.
Ironeye
- His passive, Eagle Eye, gives your run a higher floor since you and your team will be finding better loot.
- He's one of the best Nightfarers in solo play since he can kite enemies while providing consistent damage, the same applies with randoms.
- With Marking, his Character skill, you can keep yourself alive without needing frontliners to protect you.
- His bow and ultimate are very handy when reviving downed allies.
Raider
- The Raider's offensive power and tankiness let him frontline and lead the way for his team, take initiative in routing the map.
- His relentless staggers and crowd control make it easier on your allies to deal followup damage.
- Totem Stela, his ultimate, gives him playmaking agency with applications for offense (teamwide damage buff) or defense (high ground + revival opportunities)
Executor
- A great choice for solo play - if your parry mechanics are good enough, you can straight up hard carry no matter how bad your allies are.
- Having the ultimate, Aspect of the Crucible: Beast, gives you a trump card in dire situations due to its full heal and max HP boost.
Wylder
- Another popular choice in solo play, so he can ignore teammates if necessary.
- His versatility in weapon-use makes suboptimal routing or lack of trades by your team less punishing.
- Having a cheat death Passive gives you more agency if you want to go off on your own.
A-tier Explanations
In A-tier are Nightfarers that have less agency in hard-carrying randoms than the S-tier choices.
However, each has benefits if you don't have the skill or confidence to carry randoms and you can play more of a supportive role.
Duchess
- Can carry but needs to find status effect weapons to do so.
- Having good mechanical skill with dodges doesn't convert defense into offense in the same way Executor parries can.
- Squishy, so taking hits is more punishing than other melee counterparts.
- Getting value from ultimate, Finale, can be clunky since your allies can still get hit while invisible, you'll likely just use it for yourself.
Guardian
- Great choice if you want to support teammates but lacks damage output/scaling to carry if his team isn't dealing enough damage.
- Reviving allies with his ult, Wings of Salvation, comes in handy but only does so much if they're repeatedly dying.
- You're better off playing Raider if you want to tank with randoms.
Revenant
- Similar to the Guardian, lacks the damage output/scaling to hard carry on her own.
- You can deal a lot of damage if you find Faith + FP but it can be tricky if your team doesn't route for it.
- Like the Guardian as well, your ultimate is useful but only to an extent if your team dies while its on cooldown.
B-tier Explanations
Note that although we have the Recluse last here, she will only get better in time as the playerbase learns the game and its mechanics.
She's one of, if not, the best Nightfarer in coordinated situations. There are players good enough to solo with her so you can still play her with randoms, but it can be frustrating if you're trying to line up particular spells.
Recluse
- Allies can negatively affect your ability to get the Magic Cocktail spells you want.
- She can hard carry if she finds the right items to control affinities on her own but needs to route for it.
- Squishy on her own, with a lack of defensive options without the right affinities.
