Build Overview

Gun Gal Vex!

Takedown Build Video

Mayhem 20 True Hadron Abyss Takedown

True UVH7 Sub & Thol Platinum

PC Decrypted Save File

I've temporarily included takedown-specific builds which I will later transition to the main builds.

This is a Vex gun build that offers many flexible options and approaches that can suit your preferred style of gunplay. Bleed or no bleed, kill skills or no kill skills, Incarnate, Dead Ringer. Pick your poison.

  • Many thanks to LazyData, Iserrot and all Soup Kitchen friends that theorycraft on Vex.
  • Further thanks to LazyData for his optimization and help in buildcrafting Kill Skill Vex.

Gun Gal IncarnateDead Ringer

  • Includes variant: Rainbow Gal

These variants abdicate most kill skills in favor of stacking passive damage boosts to hit big numbers without needing to play around Mortal Terror. Their focus is on bursty kinetic damage and Bloodletter, but any kinetic weaponry is valid, from the slow and precise to the fast-firing, or any mix of the two.

Kill Skill Gal IncarnateDead Ringer

  • Includes variant: Bleed KS Gal

The kill skill variants have indisputably higher peaks, and can essentially use any good gun in the game without restrictions. They are, however, less bursty in terms of upfront damage, being instead DPS and ramp-up focused.

Strengths And Weaknesses

  • High baseline damage
  • High one-shot potential
  • Weapon variety
  • Kill Skill variants
  • Incarnate & Dead Ringer variants
  • Lower weapon variety on the non-Kill Skill variants

Desecration is excellent for:

  • Mobbing and the Trio Boss. It is not great against Watchgrath, but does fine if you time it well.
    • The hazards from Desecration trigger Witchy Trigger Finger whenever they damage an enemy.
  • For Terra, you should probably end Incarnate, swap back back to Vibe Check and use Triple Bypass + Now With Caffeine to quickly get back in action.

Phase Pocket works on Heimdahl (4-mag while Action Skill is active) and Draupner. Very important skill!

If you're comfortable without Strike Me Down, use its point in Grave Sustenance (VERY good for Incarnate uptime) or Target Prescience.

Alternate Tree Route

You could instead go Red down to 5/5 Mourning, but it will cost you Target Prescience points and Desecration, which can both add consistency. Feel free to experiment. The lower the difficulty, the less you will need to rely on Desecration.

MAIN WEAPONS

Lockjaw is absolutely busted for mobbing and a great fallback in case you accidentally run out of Heimdahl.

  • In fact, it's even better than Heimdahl in multiple situations, so if you learn those situations you can juggle the weapons.
  • Get a Jakobs (Ricochet Accessory) roll on it. Hyperion (Accuracy Grip) is actually good on this too.

Heimdahl is EXCELLENT for pretty much everything, mini-bosses included. You can always swap away from it to deal with specific threats, just make sure to refill the mag with Witchy Trigger Finger first.

  • Sustain through Desecration / Vibe Check + Witchy Trigger Finger.

Draupner (Platinum Chest Drop) has ABSURD bossing DPS.

  • Sustain through Desecration / Vibe Check + Witchy Trigger Finger.

OTHER WEAPONS

Crow-Sourced is another excellent fallback in case you have to deal with stragglers.

Order AR with Kill Drones can be nice if you run into downtimes on your Heimdahl. Repkit Amp them and they will perform pretty well.

Jakobs Shotgun Spread Launcher can be a last hope in case of panic.

SHIELDS

150% Amp Watts 4 Dinner is good for mobbing and Mortal Terror procs. It can lower your bleed DPS on bosses but it's not a big deal over the upsides.

150% Amp Cindershelly, Pandoran Momento or Guardian Angel.

  • Cinder and Memento are more defensive upfront, but GA can save you from a run-ending FFYL. Preference.

150% Amp Honey Badger, if you have one, is also ok.

REPKIT

Triple Bypass, War Paint or AF1000

  • Enrage (Experimental) or Accelarator (Adrenalized) rolls.
  • You can also give preference to Amp (Amplified) in case you are using Order AR Kill Drones or Jakobs Shotgun Spread Launcher as fallbacks

ENHANCEMENT

Blind Box or Bounce Pass Jakobs Enhancement

  • Perfect if you ever need to use the Lockjaw for an extended period.
  • Gun Damage + Gun Fire Rate rolls make the Blind Box a very nice pick for using both the Heavy Ordnances and the Lockjaw all at once.

Any Epic Enhancement

  • Specifically for Heavy Ordnances, you can carry a cracked out Epic Enhancement and swap to it for bosses.
  • Gun Damage, Gun Crit Damage and Gun Fire rate would be the perfect rolls.

1/3 Active Fire | 2/3 High Caliber | 2/3 Skillcraft or 2/3 Deadeye

  • Nice setup for general use with Lockjaw and Heimdahl.
  • Could also go 3/3 High Caliber, which is pretty good for Lockjaw.

3/3 Active Fire | 2/3 High Caliber

Specialization

Specialization 1Full Spectrum Arsenal
Specialization 2Riddle You This
Specialization 3Fragmentation Payload
Specialization 4Now With Caffeine

Full Spectrum Arsenal | Fragmentation Payload | Riddle You This | Now With Caffeine

  • The Best Defense can be slotted in place of Now With Caffeine for more overall damage. Nice to do if you remember before fighting Terra.
    • Alternatively you can always slot it in and then just swap back to Now With Caffeine + Triple Bypass if you run out of Incarnate at a bad time. It's what I do.
