Build Overview

Gun Gal Vex!

40s BLOOMREAPER KILL UVH6 TRUE MODE

This is a Vex gun build that offers many flexible options and approaches that can suit your preferred style of gunplay. Bleed or no bleed, kill skills or no kill skills, Incarnate, Dead Ringer. Pick your poison.

  • Many thanks to LazyData, Iserrot and all Soup Kitchen friends that theorycraft on Vex.

Gun Gal & Rainbow Gal

These variants abdicate most kill skills in favor of stacking passive damage boosts to hit big numbers without needing to play around Mortal Terror. Their focus is on bursty kinetic damage and Bloodletter, but any kinetic weaponry is valid, from the slow and precise to the fast-firing, or any mix of the two.

Kill Skill Gal

The kill skill variants can essentially use any good gun in the game without restrictions, but are less bursty in terms of upfront damage, being instead DPS and ramp-up focused. They have significantly higher peaks.

A video guide is also available! For PC players: here's a decrypted save file.

Strengths And Weaknesses

  • High baseline damage
  • High one-shot potential
  • Weapon variety
  • Kill Skill variants
  • Incarnate & Dead Ringer variants
  • Main variants are focused on Kinetic weaponry. Can use elemental weapons but ideally through quick swaps

Build Variants

Gun Gal focuses on strong, bursty kinetic damage.

That being said, any kinetic weaponry is valid, from the slow and precise to the fast-firing, or any mix of the two.

Vexcalation

Grave Harvest, Geistwave and Witchy Trigger Finger Augments

  • Witchy Trigger Finger is a valid mobbing option since it has QOL, boosts damage and we have Grave Sustenance for uptime.
  • Grave Harvest can provide the best Action Skill uptime while mobbing, if you prefer it.
    • Geistwave can be used for bosses, good for bursty weapons.
    • Witchy Trigger Finger can also work on bosses, good for deep mag and/or sticky weapons.

Heartpiercer Capstone

  • Can hit multiple enemies during mobbing, making it easy to reach three stacks of Witchy Trigger Finger.
    • This terribly designed capstone briefly turns off Blood Is Power when you use it since it consumes HP. Don't spam it, just use enough to get the WTF stacks.

Guns and Needles

  • More frequent repkit usage makes everything smoother. Can cooldown our repkits even while they're active, causing them to be ready to use whenever their effects end.

Conjunction or Fiendish Invigoration or Keen Mindn

  • Conjunction is decent passive soup that can be better when focusing on bursty guns
    • This is also useful gun damage for I Am A Gun, and therefore is a double boost to Bloodletter.
  • Fiendish Invigoration has good general applicability but will not always feel relevant. It will help guns that have deep mags, or guns that have quick reloads but low rates of fire.
  • Keen Mind can be a great middle ground, since it enables Bloodletter and Enchantment crits.

Bloodletter

  • Excellent added damage that scales from from all our boosts. Can double dip skill damage on Blood Shot.

Leeching Attunement, Essence Leech and Blood Is Power

  • Both skills here feed Blood Is Power, which in turns gives us a very large Kinetic Bonus Element and a very strong damage baseline. The Teen Witch COM will add a further 10% that gets tripled into the bonus element, and any more you get from kills if it has a Grave Thirst roll.

Target Prescience

  • This is a per-pellet, per-bonus element crit chance (rolls individually for each of those). It has decent synergy with shotguns and multiple instances of damage in general.

Blood Shot

  • We invest one point here because it gives us access to skill damage on one gunshot after using a Repkit.
  • This is very useful for hard-hitting weaponry and underbarrels, like 'Space Laser', 'Spread Launcher' and 'Shrapnel Cannon'.

The Fourth Seal

Idle Hands

  • Great DPS boost for a very low cost, and easy to maintain.

Here Comes Trouble

Enchantment

  • Decent bonus element, doesn't count as gun-source but provides a nice impact damage increase through our kinetic damage boosts and I Am A Gun.

Grave Sustenance

  • Great for Incarnate uptime during mobbing.

Vorpal Fiends

  • Great soup.

WEAPONS

Any good weapons can be worth trying. These are simply some favorites.

  • For Gun Gal and Rainbow Gal, do remember the setups are only at max power while wielding Kinetic weaponry. That's the biggest limiting factor, but it hardly impedes you from using elemental weaponry if needed, especially if they're quick swaps.
    • If you want to be rid of this limitation, consider the Kill Skill variants.

T.K's Wave

Extremely high base damage. Access to lots of licenses.

  • Atlas (Grenade Underbarrel) or Atlas (Dart Underbarrel) on one of these can make bossing with them very fun and easy.
  • Torgue (Sticky Mag) is excellent, can spawn alongside the Atlas licenses and makes for good Enhancement synergies. Very easily used with Witchy Trigger Finger.
  • Torgue (Impact Mag) is very nice when paired with Torgue enhancements like Pumper.
  • Ripper (Charge Mag) can also be very strong.

Oscar Mike

  • With the absurdly powerful 'Space Laser' underbarrel. It benefits from Amp, Blood Shot and all our bonuses, and then bleed too on top of that. Can get Torgue and Jakobs-licensed parts.

Jakobs Shotgun

Epic Rarity Jakobs Shotguns are very fun and good weapons. Balor gets very high damage and pellet count, while Dullahan can roll the strongest version of the Spread Launcher underbarrel.

  • Spread Launcher underbarrel is an obvious pick that can trivialize any encounter.
  • Daedalus (Underbarrel/Multi-Loader) Sniper Mode on Balor is very nice.
  • Hot Slugger is a great option and has some chunky bleeds.

Seventh SenseRouletteShalashaska

  • Seventh Sense with Daedalus (Underbarrel/Multi-Loader) Sniper Mode or Shotgun Mode is a comfy gun that is powerful and feels nice to use.
  • Roulette with Jakobs (Ricochet Accessory) and Torgue (Impact Mag) is amazing for mobbing.
  • Shalashaska is another excellent option. Look for Torgue (Impact Mag) alongside Shotgun Mode.

Rooker

  • Nice opener before any fight, since you can Repkit and Blood Shot it. The underbarrel can annihilate bosses by itself, and also act as passive damage during mobbing, since you can shoot out the needles and swap back to another weapon, then repeat when they're gone.

Order AR

  • With the Kill Drone underbarrel, this is another nice fight opener.

Prince HarmingHellfire or EpicRipper SMG

  • With Torgue (Sticky Mag), alongside the 'Shrapnel Cannon' underbarrel and the optional Jakobs (Ricochet Accessory). This underbarrel can melt bosses easily.

Other weapon options include:

REPKIT

War Paint, Order Repkit, Triple Bypass are all good choices of Repkit with their own relative strengths.

Look for these effects, or combinations of them if applicable:

  • Amp (Amplified)
  • Enrage (Experimental)
  • Reload Speed (Dextrous)
  • Fire Rate (Spasmodic)
  • Accelarator (Adrenalized)
    • Note: 'Leech' (Lifesteal) Repkits do not apply to Blood Is Power.

ORDNANCE

'Crit Knife' Jakobs Grenade is free damage for bossing.

Countermeasure, Waterfall, Blockbuster, Skully, Firepot and Slippy are fun options for mobbing.

Torgue Heavy Weapon and Maliwan Heavy Weapon are great picks that have good High Caliber synergy.

CLASS MOD

Stat rolls to look out for on any Class Mod are:

  • Gun Crit Chance
  • Kinetic Damage
  • Gun Damage
  • Fire Rate
  • Reload Speed

Teen Witch

This class mod does a lot of heavy lifting, sustaining our health, shields, amp and further boosting Blood Is Power through its passive Lifesteal.

For skill rolls, prioritize:

  • +5 Grave Thirst; +2 Corporeal or +2 Conjunction
    • Extremely powerful roll due to Grave Thirst feeding into Blood Is Power.
  • +2 Corporeal; +5 Conjunction
    • Maximum passive damage boosts. It won't at all peak as high as a Grave Thirst roll, but is constant for boss damage since we have no Mortal Terror on these variants.

Psion Vex Class Mod

Good for general use. Excellent for bossing with burst damage/high base damage, like Oscar Mike, 'Spread Launcher' and similar.

For skill rolls, prioritize:

  • +5 Bloodletter; +2 Leeching Attunement or +2 Material Components

SHIELD

Watts 4 Dinner

  • With 150% Amp, this is our main option. Siphon + Amp is ok if not using Teen Witch.

Cindershelly or Pandoran Momento

  • Defensive choices that can still roll 150% Amp.

Guardian Angel

  • If using the Psion Vex Class Mod, consider a 150% Amp version of this, especially for the big hitter style weapons.
  • Another reason to use this shield in general is if you don't want the Watts 4 Dinner shock taking up bleed stacks through its own bleed procs. It can be an issue depending on weapon.

Super Soldier

  • Has great synergy with higher mag size weapons and is a nice choice for class mods not named Teen Witch.

Protean Cell

  • Extremely easy to maintain with Teen Witch, and its bonus shock damage will even apply to bleed DoTs.

Firewerks

  • Can make mobbing an even further cakewalk because the missiles are gun damage, will inherit our bonus elements and will wipe mobbing sections on their own.

ENHANCEMENT

The baseline for enhancements is: match your enhancement to you weapons or licenses.

You will inevitably run into overlaps between manufacturers and licenses, where guns will fit any of the enhancements. You will have to judge for yourself what fits best in that case, since I cannot really cover for every possibility here. So, experiment with stuff, that how one finds out cool things anyway!

Stat rolls to look out for on any Enhancement are:

  • Gun / Gun Type Damage
  • Gun / Gun Type Crit Damage
  • Gun / Gun Type Equip Speed (works on mode switches too)
  • Gun / Gun Type Fire Rate
  • Gun / Gun Type Reload Speed
  • Gun / Gun Type Magazine Size

Some weapons will benefit more from something like mag size, others not much. Apply your own judgement.

Multistrike | Quintain | Piercer Jakobs Enhancement

  • Great for Jakobs or Jakobs-licensed guns. Multistrike has the highest potential damage. Quintain has nice utility.

Pumper |Studfinder | Head Ringer Torgue Enhancement

  • Great for torgue or torgue-licensed guns. These can go very well with either Gyrojets or Stickies.
    • The Air Burst effect is extremely powerful for mobbing and against Vile/Ordonite enemies. Don't sleep on it.

Combo | Nexus | Junction

  • These can be nice for bossing with Atlas-licensed guns. Also pretty nice for sticky weapons that have Atlas license.

Disruptor | Binger | High Roller | Short Circuit Ripper Enhancement

  • Good options for any ripper or ripper-licensed weaponry.

Hephaestian | Gatherer | Scion

  • Great for Daedalus and Daedalus-licensed weapons, like a Stray with Daedalus Mode Switch.

Hero of Bullet | Dog Movement | Bullet Hose | Underdog Vladof Enhancement

  • Good for Vladof weapons and Vladof weapons that have any underbarrel/mode switch attachment, doesn't matter which manufacturer's, the enhancement effect will apply as long as the gun itself is a Vladof.

3/3 Deadeye; 2/3 High Caliber

  • Default general setup that benefits nearly every weapon in some way.

3/3 Deadeye; 1/3 Heating Up; 1/3 High Caliber or 1/3 Oscar Mike

  • Setup for maxed reload speed on one-shot reload weapons.

2/3 Deadeye; 2/3 High Caliber; 1/3 Heating Up

  • Balanced do-it-all approach. No mechanics just pure passive boosts.

3/3 High Caliber; 2/3 Deadeye

  • The piercing effect is nice when paired with splash weapons, since you can shoot through enemies for a double hit once the splash hits the ground.

3/3 Daed-dy O; 2/3 High Caliber or 2/3 Deadeye or 2/3 Atlas Infinum

  • Very nice setup for weapons that have mode/underbarrel switches, like Bonnie and Clyde, Rooker, Atlas trackers, Stickies, Daedalus switches etc.

Specialization

Specialization 1The Best Defense
Specialization 2Riddle You This
Specialization 3I Am A Gun
Specialization 4Bullet Train

Gun Gal

The Best Defense; Riddle You This; I Am A Gun; Bullet Train

  • In The Zone can be a replacement to Bullet Train depending on playstyle preference and weapon choices.
    • Default choice of specializations. Great movement and damage boosts make for a combat loop that flows very well.

The Best Defense; Contamination; I Am A Gun; Bullet Train

  • Riddle You This or In The Zone can be a replacement to either The Best Defense or Bullet Train depending on playstyle preference and weapon choices.
  • Contamination means guaranteed bleeds at 10 stacks, which is excellent for consistency and damage.

CQC is a valid option if using Slippy.

Gameplay

Pop your Action Skill and Repkit of choice and slaughter! It cannot be more straighforward. Aim for crits where feasible to maximize Bloodletter effectiveness.

Get a feel for the good guns. Some will be great at both bossing and mobbing, while others may be good at only one the two things.
