This Aion 2 Ranger PvE build focuses on dealing consistent ranged damage while preparing fully charged Deadshot with Marking Shot's Precision buff. Your supporting attacks keep damage flowing between these casts, while Snipe helps recover the mana needed to maintain your rotation.
In this guide, we will cover your main skills and passives, recommended Specialties and Stigmas, skill stacking and an in-game macro setup. We will also go through equipment, stat priorities, Arcana, pets and Daevanion upgrades.
If you are still getting familiar with the game’s systems, our Aion 2 beginner guide covers the early steps that help you get started.
A huge thank you to FRESHY for sharing his Ranger build! Be sure to check out his channel for more Aion 2 content.
Your main level-20 priorities are Deadshot, Drill Dart, Burst ArrowandGale Arrow. Focus your upgrades on these skills while developing the supporting attacks and buffs that keep your rotation working.
Deadshot: One of your main damage skills. Hold its input to complete the charge and use it while Precision is active.
Drill Dart: Becomes available after a Critical Hit. It applies Bleed, reduces the target’s incoming healing and restores mana when it critically hits.
Burst Arrow: A damage skill that requires your target to be affected by Slow or Root.
Gale Arrow: Grants Gale, improving Combat Speed and PvE/PvP Damage Boost for 10 seconds before duration upgrades.
Marking Shot: Applies Precision, granting 300 Critical Hit. Use it to prepare your Deadshot casts and refresh the buff during longer fights.
Snipe: Your left-click attack and an important source of mana recovery.
Tempest Shot: An instant attack that fits between your regular shots.
Snare Shot: Applies Slow, helping enable attacks that depend on your target being slowed or rooted.
Arrow Scattershot requires a staggered target, making it a lower investment priority for this boss-focused setup. Explosion Trap and Suppressing Arrow can also wait while you improve the skills used regularly in your rotation.
Keep Defiance (Ranger) available as your crowd control escape. Level 8 is a reasonable early stopping point because it lets you select the HP restoration Specialty.
Ranger Passive Skills
Focus on the offensive passives that work with your critical hits, damage over time effects and attacks against slowed or rooted enemies:
Concentrated Fire: Gives you a chance to deal additional damage against targets affected by damage over time, working with your Bleed and Burn effects.
Focused Eye: Improves Accuracy, PvE/PvP Damage Boost and Double Hit.
Rooting Eye: Gives you a chance to deal additional damage against slowed or rooted targets.
Melee Fire: Adds a chance for your attacks to deal additional damage.
Hunter's Soul: Adds another chance to deal damage when you land a Critical Hit.
Develop these first, then improve the remaining passives as your resources allow. Look for accessory and Arcana bonuses that support the same skills.
Recommended Skill Specialties
Each active skill has five Specialty options, with up to three equipped at once. The first three options become available at skill level 8, followed by the fourth at 12 and the fifth at 16. The slots used to equip them unlock separately at levels 8, 12 and 20.
Work towards these selections as your skill levels and available slots increase:
Deadshott: Take the mobile version, increased Skill Speed and the additional damage effect.
Drill Dart: Take increased Skill Speed, Multi-Hit on hit and one additional activation.
Burst Arrow: Choose the mobile version and increased damage when hitting fewer targets. Use either Multi-Hit or the cooldown-reset option for the third selection.
Gale Arrow: Take the mobile version, increased duration and reduced cooldown.
Marking Shot: Choose increased Perfect Chance during Precision and five additional seconds of duration. These are the two important PvE selections for this setup.
Snipe: Take the +50% Multi-Hit option, Deadshot cooldown reduction and the Tempest Arrow chain skill.
Tempest Shot: Choose increased Critical Hit, increased damage when hitting fewer targets and increased Skill Speed.
Snare Shot: Take increased Skill Speed, the mobile version and Shackling Arrow.
Defiance (Ranger): Select HP restoration once the skill reaches level 8.
If you are struggling with mana early on, temporarily use Snipe’s increased mana-restoration Specialty. Revisit that choice as your equipment and supporting upgrades improve.
Recommended Stigmas
Use Vaizel's Authority, Bow of Blessing, Griffon Arrow andExplosive Arrow for this setup.
Vaizel's Authority: Improves Attack, with Perfect Chance and further offensive benefits available through its upgrades.
Bow of Blessing: Improves Critical Hit and Accuracy, with additional benefits as you level it.
Griffon Arrow: Adds Fire damage over time, supporting your damage-over-time interactions.
Explosive Arrow: Adds damage and benefits from enemies affected by Slow or Root.
Unlike active-skill Specialties, Stigma upgrades are applied automatically as the skill levels increase. Important upgrades arrive at levels 5, 10, 15 and 20, so build towards these milestones gradually as you earn the required resources.
If you later have access to six Stigma slots, add Supporting Fire and Arrow Storm. The rotation below uses the four slot setup.
Ranger Rotation and Combat Macro
Your combat loop combines offensive buffs, a fully charged Deadshot and repeated attacks while Snipe keeps your mana available. The macro handles much of the regular attacking, while Marking Shot and Deadshot remain under your control.
Setting Up Your Skill Stacks
Group your skills into the following quick slots:
Right-click slot:Drill Dart, Tempest Shot and Griffon Arrow.
Second slot:Snare Shot, Gale Arrow, Explosive Arrow and Burst Arrow.
Third slot:Deadshot.
Fourth slot:Vaizel's Authority and Bow of Blessing.
Fifth slot:Marking Shot.
Keep Snipe available separately for mana recovery. These groups describe which skills share an input. Check the priority within each stack when arranging the icons, and use keybinds that feel comfortable for you.
In-Game Macro Setup
Add these entries to your macro in this order:
Gale Arrow
Drill Dart
Vaizel's Authority
Each entry uses its associated quick slot, allowing other available skills in that stack to activate as well. This lets the three entry macro cover your grouped attacks and buffs.
Cooldowns, stack priority and activation requirements still determine what can fire. Burst Arrow, for example, still needs a target affected by Slow or Root.
Keep Marking Shot and Deadshot separate. Marking Shot’s movement input can interfere with the macro, while Deadshot needs a held input to complete its charge.
For targeting, comfortable keybinds and clearer combat displays, our Aion 2 settings guide covers useful changes.
Basic Rotation
Activate Vaizel's Authority and Bow of Blessing before your opening damage.
Use Marking Shot to apply Precision.
Fully charge Deadshot while Precision is active.
Hold your macro input and Snipe input to continue attacking and recover mana.
Refresh Precision with Marking Shot and use your next Deadshot during the buff.
Pause the macro when you need to refresh Precision or charge Deadshot, then return to your regular attacks. Watch the buff and Deadshot’s cooldown together so your main damage skill benefits from the setup you have prepared.
Stat Priorities and Equipment
Look for offensive bonuses that improve your regular damage, while keeping enough Accuracy to land attacks reliably. The value of each stat depends on your current equipment and progression bonuses, so avoid treating one fixed priority as the answer for every character.
Recommended Gear
Conquest Expedition gear is the practical starting point for this setup:
Armour: Nuakum armour from Ferocious Horn Den.
Accessories: Enraged Kromede accessories from Fire Temple.
Weapon: Enraged Kromede Longbow, or a high-tier crafted bow if your budget allows it.
A full crafted set is expensive, so prioritise the bow if you want to invest in crafted equipment. You can build the rest of the setup around your dungeon gear.
Aim for +15 on your weapon and guard, with the remaining armour and accessories around +10 as a Season 1 upgrade target.
For equipment upgrades and the wider progression steps, our Aion 2 item level guide explains how to work towards new content requirements.
Soulbinding Priorities
Use these priorities as a starting point when rolling your equipment:
Weapon and guard: Weapon Damage Boost, Combat Speed, Multi-Hit Chance and Might.
Helmet: Incoming Heal.
Shoulders: Critical Damage Boost.
Chest: Damage Boost.
Gloves: Combat Speed.
Legs: Perfect Chance or Damage Tolerance.
Cloak: Useful offensive rolls such as Attack, Attack Increase or Double Chance.
Boots: Move Speed.
Attack, Critical Hit and useful defensive stats can fill out the remaining rolls.
For accessories, focus on skill bonuses that support the build:
Both rings: Look for bonuses to Deadshot, Drill Dart, Burst Arrow and Gale Arrow.
Both earrings: Prioritise bonuses to your four most important passive skills.
Necklace: Aim for two useful active-skill bonuses alongside two offensive rolls, such as Attack or Critical Hit.
Manastones
Aim for at least one strong offensive Manastone roll on each piece. Useful options include Weapon Damage Boost, Attack, Damage Boost and Critical Damage Boost. Front or Back Attack Boost can also help when the bonus suits your positioning.
The remaining rolls can be green or blue quality while you progress. One useful high quality roll is a sensible early target without spending heavily to perfect every piece.
Arcana Cards
Prioritise Arcana bonuses to the active and passive skills that contribute most to your PvE damage. Your main active skill targets remain Deadshot, Drill Dart, Burst Arrow and Gale Arrow.
Combine Arcana bonuses with your rings and other skill upgrades to work towards the levels you need. Check your total skill levels when changing equipment so you can use your rings to fill any remaining gaps.
A strong overall setup matters more than one perfect card. Keep useful results while developing the rest of your build instead of spending all your resources chasing a single roll.
Pets and Genus Insight
Focus on offensive bonuses that support your current setup, including Attack, Accuracy, Critical Hit, Damage Boost, Critical Damage and Smite.
Prioritise these over less useful defensive or utility rolls when your goal is improving PvE damage. Keep your existing stats in mind when choosing upgrades, particularly whether you have enough Accuracy to land attacks reliably.
Useful rolls are enough to keep progressing. You do not need perfect results across both systems before moving on to other upgrades.
Daevanion Board Priorities
Plan your Daevanion routes around the Ranger skills you use regularly and the offensive stats that improve them.
Use this general priority:
Important orange nodes.
Blue nodes for your core active skills.
Green nodes for important passive skills.
White nodes offering useful offensive PvE stats.
Focus on upgrades that support your main damage skills and help you reach useful Specialty levels. Check your available choices again as those skill levels increase.
Start by getting your core skills, buffs and mana recovery working together. From there, improve your equipment and supporting systems while practising fully charged Deadshots during Precision.
