Overview

TFT Set 18 Emblems let you add a trait to a champion, helping you reach stronger trait bonuses or give a carry a new way to scale. Some are useful because they improve the holder directly, while others help you fit stronger champions into your board.

In this guide, we will cover the Emblem recipes, recommended holders and the situations where each Emblem makes sense. Your items and existing board still matter, so treat these recommendations as options to build around rather than a reason to force a comp.

For complete boards and current builds, check out our TFT team comps.

You can craft eight Emblems with a Spatula and another eight with a Frying Pan. Coven, Defender, Flora Fatalis and Juggernaut cannot be crafted from components. Some augments provide completed Emblems, including Consuming Flora for Flora Fatalis.

Spatula Emblems

Blackthorn Emblem

  • Recipe: Spatula + Giant’s Belt.
  • Recommended Champions: Yunara or Zyra.

Blackthorn Emblem allows an outside carry to receive additional stats from your sacrifice. Yunara is a great option with our Yunalistar board, if she takes the Emblem and you sacrifice a 3-star Murk Wolf, both Yunara and Warwick will gain a massive stat boost.

Always choose your sacrifice based on the carry you want to support. Your ultimate goal should be to reach a higher Blackthorn breakpoint while providing impactful stats to an upgraded carry.

[Yunalistar Comp Guide]

Blossom Emblem

Blossom Emblem gives an outside champion access to the trait’s extra Attack Damage, Ability Power and Health. Sivir fits alongside Ashe in Wispful Thinking, while Morgana or Kennen can hold it when you are playing around AP items.

The Emblem also helps you reach Blossom’s Wisp bonuses while keeping a strong outside unit.

[Wispful Thinking Comp Guide]

Elderwood Emblem

  • Recipe: Spatula + Chain Vest.
  • Recommended Champions: Aphelios or Soraka.

Aphelios is a strong holder in Wrath of the Woods, letting you keep your main AD carry while working towards a higher Elderwood breakpoint. He also shares Rapidfire with Xayah, so he fits naturally into the board. Soraka is an alternative for an AP setup and shares Executioner with Ezreal.

The Emblem can help you reach 7 Elderwood before finding Gnar, giving you an earlier way to unlock the stronger plant setup.

[Wrath of the Woods Comp Guide]

Fae Emblem

  • Recipe: Spatula + B.F. Sword.
  • Recommended Champions: Rengar or Sivir.

Rengar is a strong Fae Emblem holder when playing alongside Tristana. His damage and healing help your team attract Pixies, while the Emblem lets him benefit from Fae’s offensive stats and healing. Sivir is another option if you are moving towards a late game board.

Fae and Furious gives you a Fae and Sprykin board to work from. If Rengar is contested, play around Sivir as your secondary carry with the Fae Emblem on her giving her more offensive stats.

[Fae and Furious Comp Guide]

Inferno Emblem

  • Recipe: Spatula + Recurve Bow.
  • Recommended Champions: Ashe or Draven.

Ashe is a strong holder in a Juggernaut and Hunter board. The Emblem gives her Attack Speed and lets her apply Inferno’s Burn and Wound through her damage. Draven is another option when he is your main AD carry.

Ashe to Ashes already plays Inferno units, so giving Ashe the Emblem can help reach the next breakpoint without using another team slot. That makes it useful for the shop upgrades as well as the combat benefits.

If you get an Inferno Emblem early, really look to activate 3 as the amount of higher cost units you can get naturally in your shop really will make the difference throughout the game.

[Ashe to Ashes Comp Guide]

Lunar Emblem

Kog’Maw and Morgana can use Lunar’s Attack Speed and Ability Power, while Kennen is a late game option for AP Exodia. The Emblem also turns its holder into another source of Lunar’s bonuses for adjacent allies.

AP Exodia already includes Lunar champions such as Alune and Diana, giving you a starting point for the trait. Place your Emblem holder where nearby allies can benefit, and check the highlighted hexes after moving your board.

This is one of the most flexible Emblems this set, so if you do happen to get one, just slot in either a Diana, Alune or Aphelios and you'll be able to buff up a bunch of units.

[AP Exodia Comp Guide]

Primal Emblem

  • Recipe: Spatula + Sparring Gloves.
  • Recommended Champions: Ashe or Kennen.

Primal Emblem is a great pickup because you only need one other Primal unit alongside its holder to unlock a Blessing, giving your whole team a bonus such as healing or Attack Speed.

The Emblem is also required to reach 4 Primal, which unlocks a second Blessing. This lets you add another bonus, such as an execute for your Primal champions or extra components after enough takedowns.

[Ashe to Ashes Comp Guide]

Sprykin Emblem

Rengar is a strong Sprykin Emblem holder. Sprykin Emblem lets him become the Big Furry Friend’s rider, and the Emblem gives him extra Attack Speed and resistances while he is riding. Make sure you actually select Rengar as the rider to receive that bonus.

Fae and Sprykin Emblems are both strong options for Rengar in this board. Fae gives him access to the Pixie bonuses, while Sprykin strengthens him as the rider. Play around the Emblem you find and the trait breakpoint it helps you reach.

[Fae Cat Comp Guide]

Frying Pan Emblems

Brawler Emblem

  • Recipe: Frying Pan + Giant’s Belt.
  • Recommended Champions: Master Yi or Maokai.

Master Yi is a clear carry option for the Brawler Emblem. The Emblem gives his attacks bonus magic damage based on his maximum Health, allowing the Brawler health bonus to improve both his damage and survival.

Maokai is an alternative when you want to strengthen a late game tank. For the Master Yi version, Adapt or Die gives you a board that already supports him with Brawlers.

[Adapt or Die Comp guide]

Executioner Emblem

  • Recipe: Frying Pan + Sparring Gloves.
  • Recommended Champions: Zyra or Draven.

Zyra is an excellent holder in AP 8-4, where she plays alongside Soraka. Giving Zyra the Emblem lets both carries benefit from Executioner and gives Zyra an execute against low Health enemies, while also giving her the ability to crit so you don't need to build Jeweled Gauntlet.

Draven is another option when your late game board already includes Executioners such as Ezreal or Kennen. Prioritise a holder you are actively itemising so the Emblem is improving one of your main damage dealers.

[AP 8-4 Comp Guide]

Hunter Emblem

AD Nidalee is a strong fit because she targets weakened enemies and can keep collecting takedowns. Each takedown grants additional Attack Damage through the Emblem, helping her move from one target to the next. Sivir is also a Hunter and a Primal so the pair sync up really well.

Elder Dragon is a late game alternative for an AD board.

[The Hunters Comp Guide]

Invoker Emblem

  • Recipe: Frying Pan + Tear of the Goddess.
  • Recommended Champions: Ahri or Alune.

Ahri is a strong Invoker Emblem holder, gaining increased Mana Regen from the trait and additional Ability Power each time she casts.

The Emblem is especially useful in Bloom and Doom, where she plays alongside Morgana and other Invokers, allowing you to reach 5 Invoker, the trait’s highest breakpoint. Alune is another good holder if she becomes one of your late game carries.

[Bloom and Doom Comp Guide]

Rapidfire Emblem

Brambleback is a strong holder in Trigger Happy alongside Aphelios. Rapidfire helps it build Attack Speed, while the Emblem adds true damage to each attack based on the target’s maximum Health. That makes it a useful upgrade for a board already playing around repeated attacks.

Kog’Maw is another option when he is your itemised carry. In either case, the holder needs time to keep attacking, so make sure the rest of your board can support it.

[Trigger Happy Comp guide]

Ravager Emblem

Elise is a particularly strong Ravager Emblem holder because she heals with every attack after transforming. The Emblem turns that repeated healing into additional Damage Amp, helping her become more dangerous the longer she stays alive.

Ravager also gives her Omnivamp and bonus damage when the trait is active. Pair the Emblem with items that support her attacks and survival so she can keep healing and building up damage throughout the fight.

[Elise Unleashed Comp Guide]

Spellweaver Emblem

  • Recipe: Frying Pan + Needlessly Large Rod.
  • Recommended Champions: Zyra, Soraka or Morgana.

Spellweaver Emblem is especially good on Zyra, Soraka and Morgana. All three make strong use of the trait’s Ability Power, and the Emblem gives its holder Mana whenever an ally casts, helping them use their abilities more often.

So any board with these 3 units, the Emblem will be great.

You can use Weave Got This as a starting point. With the Emblem, you can replace a lower-cost Spellweaver with an upgraded Zyra, Soraka or Morgana while keeping the same Spellweaver count. This lets you fit another strong AP carry alongside Ahri and Alune.

[Weave Got This Comp Guide]

Vanguard Emblem

  • Recipe: Frying Pan + Chain Vest.
  • Recommended Champions: Maokai or Amumu.

Vanguard Emblem is a flexible option that fits into plenty of boards. You only need one other Vanguard to activate the trait, giving your holder extra shields while keeping your strongest units on the board.

The Final Forest is a great example. This Fast 9 comp already activates several traits, and putting the Emblem on Maokai or Amumu lets you add 2 Vanguard alongside Taric, strengthening your frontline without changing the rest of the team.

The Emblem also restores 1 Tactician Health if its holder survives 22 seconds in player combat, giving you another benefit from a tank that can stay alive.

[The Final Forest Comp Guide]

Non-Craftable Emblems

These Emblems have no Spatula or Frying Pan recipe. If you receive one from a reward, choose its holder around the trait breakpoint and the board you can build.

Coven Emblem

Coven Emblem helps you reach a higher Coven breakpoint and gather Essence faster. Rakan and Diana can fit alongside Elise through Vanguard while holding the extra Coven trait, so you can improve your frontline and keep building towards your next reward.

Mana Go Brrr shows how to play through a Coven opening before moving towards a stronger Invoker board. The Emblem is most useful while you are still gathering Essence, so choose its holder around the board you are using at that stage.

[Mana Go Brrr Comp Guide]

Defender Emblem

Rengar can use both Defender’s resistances and the Emblem’s Attack Speed bonus, which increases with the number of allies starting in the front row. This makes him an option in a Defender reroll board.

Use Defenders of the DoT as your starting board. If you have the copies and items for Rengar, replace a lower-cost Defender with him to keep the trait count, then reroll him alongside Cassiopeia and Rammus.

Amumu is an alternative if you want to give the Emblem to a tank.

[Defenders of the DoT Comp Guide]

Flora Fatalis Emblem

Veigar is a strong Flora Fatalis Emblem holder, as the Mana gained from takedowns helps him cast more often and finish off more enemies. Cassiopeia also makes great use of the extra Mana, helping her keep casting as she wears down the enemy team.

The Consuming Flora augment provides the Emblem and improves the holder’s trait benefits, making it a particularly good pickup for Veigar in Kill, Stack, Repeat.

[Kill, Stack, Repeat Comp Guide]

Juggernaut Emblem

Kennen can use Juggernaut’s Durability to stay alive while dealing damage, while Taric is an option if you want to strengthen your frontline. The Emblem also grants Mana when a Juggernaut dies.

Our Juggernaut Flex comp uses a durable frontline to give Zyra time to build up damage. With a Juggernaut Emblem on Kennen, you can replace Sejuani and keep your Juggernaut count while adding a stronger late game unit.

[Juggernaut Flex Comp Guide]

Choosing the Right Emblem Holder

Start with the trait breakpoint you can realistically reach. An Emblem that immediately upgrades your board can be more useful than one that needs several champions you have not found.

Next, check the holder’s item slots. Some combinations, such as Invoker Ahri or Brawler Master Yi, directly support the carry’s game plan. If you mainly need the extra trait count, a useful supporting unit can hold the Emblem while your carry keeps three completed items.

If you also find an Artifact, think about how it fits alongside the Emblem before filling the remaining item slots. Our Set 18 Artifact guide covers strong Artifact holders and combinations to help you finish the build.
