Shrines Guide - Path of Exile 2

Shrines in PoE 2 are a mechanic that you will find in Waystones. Each Shrine will provide your character with a unique temporary buff, but Shrines will also affect nearby monsters until it is clicked by a player.

Players can be affected by multiple Shrine buffs simultaneously, and each Shrine buff can be cancelled at any time by right clicking the Shrine buff icon at the top left of the screen. You can also pause the game to hover over any buff or debuff to read more about what it does

Path of Exile 2 has 12 different types of Shrines, each with different effects and durations.

As you can see from the above effects, Shrines have incredibly powerful effects, and stacking them on top of each other by clicking multiple Shrines can explode your character's power levels for the duration.

Be sure to be careful if you ever stumble upon a Divine Shrine - the monsters near it will be unkillable, and without a source of phasing, players need to ensure that they don't get stuck in a swarm of monsters that they cannot kill.

Shrine Duration and Effect and spawn frequency can also be improved by allocating points into the Atlas Passive Tree

*In Patch 0.2.0h, Greed Shrines were temporarily disabled, but the Prayer for Wealth Passive Point still allows you to increase your chance to find these. Do not allocate this point until Greed Shrines are re-enabled.

As you can see above, allocating all of the above Shrine Atlas Passive Points could grant bonuses such as:

• 340% increased chance for your Maps to contain a Shrine**
• Most Shrines would last for 2 minutes and 15 seconds, others for 90 seconds
• 50% increased Effect of Shrines - for example, an Acceleration Shrine would last for 2m15s and grant a player 90% increased Skill Speed and 60% increased Movement Speed

**The increased chance to find a Shrine in your Maps (Waystones) is an increase to the base chance. This doesn't mean that each Waystone would contain over 3 Shrines, but that you'd find 4.4x as many as usual (which often does mean finding multiple in a single Waystone.
