Act 2+ Mages

Major Highlights

S Tier

  • Olympia is a powerful mage because of her passive. She gains +10 crit directly with magic, and at levels 20 and 35, she also gains increased crit and attack when using Nosferatu. She can crit extremely hard with other classes as well. She has some healing and dark magic, and she gets 50 magic growth but only 35 speed and dexterity, which isn't ideal.

A Tier

  • Bonaventure is the opposite of Olympia. He has 45 magic, 40 speed and 50 dexterity growth. He is a mage that you can train at the very beginning. They will be the default mage and pseudo-healer for the Theodora path.
  • Fabio is a free character available in the Dietrich’s Path and in other paths later on. The Passive inflicts -5 dodge on adjacent foes, making them easier to kill in combat. But what you’re really getting from Fabio is that, at levels 20 and 35, it extends Dark Calling's range. Mages want to stick together and deal damage from afar, so he's the perfect choice. He has 50 magic and 40 dexterity, but his speed is really low at 35.
  • Sirocco is a versatile character. You can play him as a mage or a swordsman. He has a powerful Passive that restores 5 HP to a unit after combat, and at higher levels he also gains increased evasion, making him even tankier. You can build him as a strength character or a mage, and he also has high speed and dexterity.
  • Dante is a mage supportive character. She grants additional dodge to her allies, and at levels 20 and 35 she gives additional hit and other stats, buffing the other characters on your team. If you place her adjacent to characters like Olympia and Fabio, they can stack the buffs to their allies. Dante has 45 magic, 40 speed and 40 dexterity, making her a good mage support.
  • Fianna is another mage and supportive healer. She is an RNG healer, as her passive gives her the chance to reduce the cost of a heal based on luck. However, we will not be stacking luck, so this and her upgraded passives are not going to always strike, as there will only be a 20/30% chance of getting it. You can also use her as a damage dealer. She has high 55 magic growth, 40 dexterity, and high magic resist too. She lacks HP growth, so she will struggle against swordsmen and melee characters.
  • Mu has high stat gain with enhanced growth thanks to her personal ability. She can grow into basically anything with her base, level 20, and level 35 passive, and she gets stronger the higher her level is. She is versatile. She can be a swordsman, a fist fighter or a magic user. If you use her as a Mage, she will get increased magic damage.

B Tier (Mage or Healers)

  • Sofia is one of the best healers in the game. Her stats aren't the best, but she has the potential to be a magic tank. Her passive is great. She has increased healing output and can heal from afar.
  • Tialla is a healer who can also be a mage. Her stat gains in magic, speed and dexterity are relatively good. Her passive doesn’t let her have massive offensive or defensive capacity.
  • Sha Lan is a support mage with the potential to be a supportive healer. She is powerful when you combine her with additional mages. As you level her up, her passive effect becomes quite strong. She can grant additional speed to her adjacent allies, so when paired with extra mages, they can deal a lot of damage! For her stat gain, she gets 45 magic and 50 dexterity.
  • Ultand is another utility character. Her Passive provides dodge for her allies, letting them take less damage overall. Ultand has mediocre stat gains, but she has a lot of luck.

Magic Tanks

  • Ninae has the potential to be a mage tank. Her passive gives her hit/avo during combat if she uses magic. Her upgraded passive also empowers adjacent allies. She has decent stats across the board, especially 45 resistance and 45 HP. If you’re facing a strong mage lineup, she could be a good mage tank!
