Overview

In Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave Act 1, players can choose from 4 main paths. Each path has unique requirements, strengths and playstyles. Players can freely switch between different playthroughs without locking themselves into a single storyline or playthrough.

In this guide, with the help of our expert Mattjestic, we'll discuss Cai’s Path and break down the best team composition and characters to recruit for it. Cai’s Path is a beginner-friendly path which takes us through the traditional storyline.

Major Highlights

Frontline

  • Cai is a highly flexible character in this team composition. He can do almost anything thanks to his strong HP, strength, magic, speed, and dexterity gains. Because Cai can capture mounted units, it is a good idea to have a mount with him. Mounts work well on many characters, and each mount can provide a variety of stats.
  • Cai, Mu, and Guzran can use the Myrmidon class to get Ravaging Arts to boost their critical damage. After that, switch to Brigand for the strength gain. However, if you can get Archer and the master ability Crescendo, that could be another good option, with the stat gain and class skill experience while doing auto-activities. For late game, Cai needs the Bardinger mounted class or Dragoon mounted class.
  • Esmeralda should take the Armored Knight class and get the extra defensive stats, as she will be a tanky frontline character. Then she will transition into the Dreadnought class later on. Giving her pure water is a good option too.
  • Mu can also go Pugilist using a fist weapon or sword for the extra stat gain, then transition into Shido at higher levels for the extra life gain after landing a critical strike.
  • Simon has a good passive that can prevent his other characters from dying in a fight, which is based on luck. At the higher levels, defeating enemies also gives him additional luck.

Healers and Buffers

  • For healers, start with the Priest class, then move to Bishop, and give both healers white magic use and range. Sofia has the best range of a healer, and both she and Tialla in the backline are key. If you can, also get them mounted with the Troubadour class so they can give lots of different buffs to your mages and other characters.

Mages

  • Olympia is one of the best characters because she can crit, and when her passive is higher level, she gains even more crit. She can become a one-shot mage if she is next to other mages in the backline with high attack and the blessing. Her class can be Myrmidon with Ravaging Arts, as it provides her with +6 when she crits. Use auto-activities to gain experience. Then move into Shaman, then Ovate for additional gain and growth from magic.
  • Sirocco and Dante will be Shaman and then Dark Magic.
  • Fianna and Ultand can both serve as healers early, but then can transition into mages as you progress. Their classes will start as Shaman or Priest and then finish with Troubadour to give the team Song of Courage.

Archers

  • Peter and Nuzzuo are some of the strongest Archers in the game. On Peter, you can get +1 range with his Passive. His Personal Ability grants him extra range when attacking with a bow. As he levels, he can also get extra hits. He has high speed and high dexterity- he is only missing strength. You can transition him into Charioteer after level 20 for the extra 10 growth in strength, which is needed.
  • Nuzzuo gets +3 attack on effective foes, which increases with more levels, allowing him to deal a lot of damage to flyers, etc. He has good stat gains in HP, strength, speed and dexterity. For classes, he can start as an Archer, then move into Charioteer and a mounted warhorse for even higher strength/dexterity. For late game, you can go with Sniper or Forest Knight depending on your playstyle.
  • Lilian is another Archer option. Her Passive gives her +10 hit when she can counter the enemy's attacks. Still, Archers traditionally don’t want to be in a position where they can be countered, so it’s basically free additional damage. This increases the higher her level is. She has decent speed and dexterity, but she does lack strength.
  • Inyoni is the final Archer recommendation. She gains +3 strength when she has a bow, and she gains even more stats like attack and crit when using a bow at higher levels. You can change her class to Archer or Charioteer, and then to Sniper and Forest Knight in the late game.
