To max out pet levels in Aion 2, collect souls from the matching monsters. A regular pet needs 105 souls in total to unlock and reach level 3, improving the passive bonuses it provides through its Owned Effects.
In this guide, we will cover the soul requirements for each level, how to find the right monsters and how to make farming more efficient.
A huge thank you to MistaWigglez for his Aion 2 pet leveling tips!
Pet Level Requirements and Owned Effects
Regular pets collected through monster souls reach level 3 in the global version. The requirements are:
Level 1: Collect 5 souls to unlock the pet.
Level 2: Collect another 25 souls, bringing the total to 30.
Level 3: Collect another 75 souls, bringing the total to 105.
These amounts apply to each pet separately. The target is 105 collected souls, so track your soul progress instead of assuming that 105 kills will always finish the job.
Leveling a pet improves its Owned Effects, which provide passive bonuses to your character. You do not need to ride that pet to benefit from them; owning and leveling it is enough.
Check the listed effects when choosing your next target. For equipment upgrades to work on alongside these bonuses, our Aion 2 item level guide covers the wider progression steps.
Find Pet Souls Using the Source Menu
Open Pets, select the pet you want to level and choose Source to find the monsters that drop its souls.
Select one of the listed locations to bring it up on the map.
Zoom in to identify the monster’s location more clearly.
Travel to a nearby teleport point.
Search the surrounding area for the correct monsters.
The nearby teleport point does not necessarily place you directly beside your target. Check the marked area and look around after arriving.
Some pets have more than one listed farming location. If other players are clearing the monsters before you can reach them, return to Source and try another suitable area. Make sure you can handle the enemies there before committing to the move.
Farm Souls Faster and Collect Your Drops
Choose a spot where you can keep fighting the correct monsters without spending most of your time waiting for targets. A quieter location can be more useful than a busy camp where other players are constantly clearing the enemies.
Check for soul drops after each kill and pick them up before moving on. Do not assume that every drop has been collected automatically. Recheck the pet’s progress occasionally so you know how many more souls you need.
An in-game combat macro can make repeated fights easier to manage by putting your usual skills into a sequence. Set it up around your class’s attacks and resource needs so you can move smoothly between targets.
Our Aion 2 beginner guide includes a combat macro example to help you understand the setup.
If the area becomes crowded, check the alternative Source locations before spending too long competing for the same few monsters.
Build Your Pet Collection Over Time
If your immediate goal is to level your character, collect souls while following your quest route and leave longer pet grinds for later. Our Aion 2 leveling guide explains how to prioritize that progress.
When you are ready to focus on pets, choose a target, find a suitable farming spot and collect the souls needed for level 3. Then check the Owned Effects on your remaining pets and choose the next bonus you want to work towards.
