Deadlock takes place in The Cursed Apple, a haunted version of New York City, where you'll find yourself amidst skyscrapers, otherworldly creatures, and enemy objectives.
In this guide, you can use our Interactive Deadlock Map and learn everything you need to know about its objectives and landmarks.
Deadlock's map has three lanes. Minions spawn and head to each lane periodically, so you will spend the majority of your time in-game in the lanes. Lanes also hold structures like Guardians and Walkers, and Ziplines that you can use to quickly traverse the map.
Left / Yellow Lane: York
Mid / Blue Lane: Broadway
Right / Green Lane: Greenwich
Furthermore, the map is separated into 4 thematic districts: Theater, Chinatown, Haunted Lot, and Plaza. Each district has its own kind of Haunts (Neutral / Jungle monsters) and unique events, which are described in detail below:
Sunken Plaza
Below the Plaza district in the northwest area of the map lies the Sunken Plaza, a huge Haunt Camp that also has Buff Containers and Crates inside, making it a very contested location.
However, the Sunken Pool is risky to take, as stamina quickly decreases inside and visibility is limited.
Chinatown Bell Tower
The Bell Tower is located on the higher parts of the Chinatown district, and it contains three bells with Souls inside. However, the bells will ring when collected, alerting enemies.
Jungle and Haunt Camps
The areas between lanes are commonly referred to as the Jungle. It holds no minions or structures, but instead has Haunt camps. These are neutral objectives that either team can defeat to receive a hefty amount of Souls.
The Mid-Boss is a powerful neutral objective. Defeating it and breaking the Rejuvenator Crystal grants the Rejuvenator buff to the whole team, allowing up to 3 revives upon death.
Players can find breakable objects like Crates, Tough Crates, Buff Containers and Sinner's Sacrifice Machines across the map. Most breakables spawn at 3 minutes and respawn 3 minutes after being destroyed. Most of them can be broken with melee attacks, shots, or by dashing through them, except Tough Crates, which require a Heavy Melee, and Sinner's Sacrifices, which are covered in detail in our Deadlock Jungle Guide.
Crates
Tough Crates
Buff Containers
Sinner's Sacrifices
They have a chance to drop souls.
They require a Heavy Melee to open and hold more souls than a regular Crate.
They have a 50% chance to drop a permanent stat buff when broken.
They drop souls each time they are hit, and a permanent buff when winning a Jackpot.
Destroying breakables while you traverse the map is a great way to optimize Soul farming.
Unstable Rifts
Unstable Rifts are random map events that appear randomly throughout the game in the left or right lanes. The objective is a King of the Hill type, where players must stay in the area to capture the point.
The winning team receives a large amount of Souls distributed among all team members, and spawns extra Rift Troopers that are stronger than their regular counterparts.
Soul Urns
Soul Urns are objectives that require a player to pick them up and carry them to the opposite side of the map. While a player carries the Soul Urn, they get mobility buffs, but getting stunned or hit by a melee attack drops the Urn in place.
When delivered, the Soul Urn spawns Soul Orbs and Buff Containers.
Soul Urn rewards make your character considerably stronger, so you should prioritize them as they spawn in the mid-game. However, you should coordinate with your team so you don't leave your lane structures defenseless against enemies.
The Broker
The Broker is a special, time-limited store that allows players to turn their Items into Corrupted Items, getting powerful enhanced effects with random stat nerfs, similar to how enhanced items function in the Street Brawl Mode.
Note: The Broker was removed from Standard and Ranked matches on Oct 2, 2026, but Valve has teased it might return at a later date.
