Weapons
Stelliums, a type of
Maliwan Shotgun, are the main weapons of choice here, with the highest DoT values you can find. A Jakobs part is also good, but not absolutely mandatory.
The 'Energy Disc' underbarrel is extremely powerful should you want to use one. It retains Amp, the Primed Potency
Maliwan Enhancement (as long as you reload a normal shot before using it), our on-shot boosts and applies DoTs.
All elemental flavors are useful here, but the most general use we'll get on this build variant is out of Corrosive and Shock.
- Corrosive can generate the best
Prismatic Ichor, and deals higher total damage but spread out over a longer duration. It's a safe choice for using either the Main Shot or the Energy Discs. - Shock has high burst and DPS potential, however suffers more if the matchup ends up bad or the
Prismatic Ichor RNG isn't kind. The main shot does not make great use of its strengths, however the Energy Discs are excellent for it because they apply many strong DOTs in a short time, playing well into the burst and DPS advantages. - Fire is a bit of a middle term between the previous two, sort of neither here nor there. The best moments to use it are against health bars that are flesh only.
Vertexes, the other type of
Maliwan Shotgun, and the Stelliums, can spawn with the 'Energy Blast' underbarrel. This actually has one of the highest base DoTs available to us, and can trigger a very good
Prismatic Ichor. While it won't come close to Energy Discs in DPS, it's still very fun to use.
Sweet Embrace is a pretty nice all-around weapon that can play with the shoot-reload loop for Primed Potency
Maliwan Enhancement.
Asher's Rise is a capable weapon, mainly for mobbing.
You can bring any other weapons you like for long range or FFYL backup, like a strong underbarrel, for example.
Repkit
Triple Bypass with Amp is the most solid general choice.
Order Repkit with Amp and Enrage or Elemental Damage is great for bossing.
Ordnance
'Crit Knife'
Jakobs Grenade is free damage for bossing.
Slippy is my default choice for helping against Vile Crystal enemies.
Firepot is nice.
Purple Rarity elemental grenades might end up being cool for general use.
- Keep in mind your grenades can proc dots and rob your
Prismatic Ichor. Probably best not to use any elemental grenades on bosses.
Class Mods
Stat rolls to look out for on any class mod:
- Elemental Damage
- Status Effect Damage
- Damage Dealt
- General Utility
+5
Prismatic Ichor; +2
Keen Suffering
General best-in-slot. The high
Prismatic Ichor roll is the main thing you should look for.
+5
Burning Attunement; +1
Radiant Attunement; +1
Leeching Attunement
Nice fallback choice, with its own little gameplay loop. You can swap to a fire weapon after your DOTs are occurring, and the Crit Damage from
Burning Attunement will apply to them.
- You can then, by simply swapping weapons, continue cycling through any other attunement skills you have spec'd through the skill tree or class mod, like
Shocking Attunement,
Radiant Attunement and
Leeching Attunement. This stacks the class mod's special effect/
Four active attunements at once results in an 80% damage boost. When the Crit Damage from
Burning Attunement is added to that, it totals 140%. Check out the Vex Damage Formula.
- Shotgun Equip Speed on Enhancement is a very useful stat for pulling this off.
Shields
Guardian Angel
- With 150% Amp, this is the primary choice for general use.
- Any other Amp Shield works here, or even
Watts 4 Dinner. They won't be as easy to sustain though.
Protean Cell
- The Bonus Shock applies to DoTs themselves, making it a really strong choice for quick boss melts, as long as you learn to play around the special effect.
Enhancements
Stat rolls to be on the lookout for are:
- Gun Damage
- Gun Type Damage
- Shotgun and/or Gun Equip Speed (speeds up swaps and mode switches)
- Gun Status Effect Damage
Primed Potency
Maliwan Enhancement is our main choice here.
Icon can be nice for mobbing due to the Transfuser effect.
Maestro is alright.
Gun Splash and Gun Type Splash are inferior rolls to Gun/Gun Type damage, but they can boost DoTs as long as you hold a splash weapon of the appropriate type.
- When Gun Splash and Gun Type Splash roll on the same enhancement, they have weird interactions. Meaning you might run into situations where one boost works and the other doesn't, for reasons that are too... extensive to explain here. So mainly avoid that double roll if it happens.
