CR4SH C4SH Gloam Build

Gunboy is a C4SH build focused around gunplay that also boasts extreme increases to skill damage.

The Ante Up skill provides massive gun and skill damage boosts when holding 1-mag, COV (Unlimited Mag) or very low magazine size guns/underbarrels, which can then be fed into effects like the Bleed status from Gamer and even Groundbreaker.

  • Many other class mod options available! Gamer is just one of many options and there's different use cases for each, alongside the fun factor.
  • Weapon Equip Speed rolls on Enhancement are highly recommended if intending to use COV (Unlimited Mag) weapons on the Sleight of Hand variant, since you will need empty mag reloads to enter Windfall or some luck when activating the Action Skill.

The build is Soup Kitchen™ certified and made in collaboration with GIRTHQUAKE, wrw713 and AncientRune.

GunboySleight of Hand

Burst damage. Gigantic peaks, but requires learning the preparation involved to bring the most out of it on bossing. Controlled Windfall procs allow for different strategies, like using Prestidigitator.

Capable of using COV (Unlimited Mag) weapons, but has the harder time entering Windfall with them, instead relying on swaps from a better-suited weapon, or through Action Skill activation.

GunboyCleromancy

Lower peaks than Sleight of Hand, however has the smooth and snappy gameplay of Totem spam and great damage regardless.

Capable of using COV (Unlimited Mag) licensed weapons with relative ease as main weapon options, due to Totem spam enabling easier Windfall activations.

Gunboy CSW Cleromancy

Easiest to play, more weapon variety, but a bit lower peaks overall. Goes for Can't Stop Winning for easier Windfall procs, and also lifesteal from Turn of Fate. The cost is decent amount of damage boosts, but this can feel excellent to play all the same, has its own flow and more than enough damage.

It is the smoothest user of COV (Unlimited Mag) licensed weapons as main weapon options, due to not needing to rely swaps or Action Skill activations to enter Windfall, thanks to Can't Stop Winning.

Strengths And Weaknesses

  • Extremely high gun damage for any activity
  • Cards and Totems have good damage output
  • Good survivability
  • Sleight of Hand or Cleromancy
  • Sleight of Hand requires some dancing and learning to achieve its absurd gun peaks

Build Variants

Sleight of Hand Gunboy

Gigantic peaks, but requires learning the preparation involved to bring the most out of it on bossing.

If you don't like the 'rain dance' approach, consider trying the Cleromancy variants. They are just as good on their own right and have different advantages.

  • Capable of using COV (Unlimited Mag) weapons, but has the harder time entering Windfall with them, instead relying on swaps from a better-suited weapon, or through Action Skill activation.

Flexible Points

These are points you can feel free to mess around with:

  • You could max out Insurance instead of Sounds of Rain.
    • Only 1/5 is needed in Insurance, but higher investment feels comfortable for survival and consistency, and gives you faster Amps when running Amp shields.
  • If ever using a Class Mod with one point or multiple in Dealer's Bluff, then the skill tree point can be used elsewhere.
  • The final build will have 2-4 floater points after getting all the requirements and depending on the above. I recommend capping out skills like Insurance/Sounds of Rain, or investing in Tender Hearts, Legerdemain or Stack the Deck.
  • If you don't want to use Wretched Shadows for Groundbreaker at all, then that is also a free point. Consider experiencing its power though...

Action Skill Sleight of Hand

Sweeten the Pot always stays on.

  • Sweeten the Pot + The Cooler has the highest gun damage potential achievable, and is perfect for bossing or general gun usage.
  • Sweeten the Pot + Cowboy has high utility and mobbing functionality due to the cooldown resets, plus the Acid Spray card is really strong.

Luck of the Draw

Ante Up is the ESSENTIAL skill of the setup. Whatever you do, don't give it up. It provides an obscene amount of Gun and Skill damage boosts while holding the Hot Slugger.

  • Formula by wrw713: [ Base x (Fortune Stacks + Current Ammo) ] / Mag Size
    • COV (Unlimited Mag) weapons count as '0 Current Ammo' and '1 Mag Size'.

Alchemy is excellent for stacking Fortune with our bonus elements and utility grenade ordnance.

  • Alongside Insurance, Alchemy lets you generate Fortune stacks even during Windfall, meaning you can continue building up Hot Streak.

Insurance actually does not need a full shield refill like the card implies, meaning fast Amp shields like Guardian Angel make it very spammable. At the same time, it is great for sustaining any other shields.

Fast Hands for a big reload speed boost and easier Windfall.

Late Scratch enables easier Windfall fishing with Hot Slugger by spamming reloads since it will generate Fortune stacks while Windfall isn't active.

Wretched Shadows is nice for survival and can auto-deliver Groundbreaker when properly positioned.

Take the Pot can take care of your survival. If you feel like it's not enough, use a Kill Spring Repkit.

Vigorish + Sweeten the Pot grants an unethical amount of Bonus Element damage sources, especially when paired with The Cooler.

  • Cowboy is a valid choice over The Cooler for mobbing, since it has great utility with the cooldown resets and the Acid Spray card deals a lot of damage.

Ace in the Hole, alongside Payout and No Limit, is another big soup boost.

No Limit gives us more room to generate Hot Streak stacks for guaranteed critical hits.

Tender Hearts is an amazing passive crit damage damage boost. When Hot Streak is spec'd, it will provide double value when hitting Weak Spots/Headshots.

Hot Streak is our autocrit source. It's stackable per each Fortune stack gained, and consumed on hit, which means you want to generate as many stacks as possible because even damage instances that ride on your base damage will consume it.

  • Hot Streak has unlisted features. Its actual damage boost provided is much larger than what it tells the player, and you should ideally still be aiming for Weak Spots/Headshots when using it whenever feasible to guarantee the extra boost.

WEAPONS

The Reloaders

This build wants access to a frequent reload, 1-mag size weapon due to Windfall access utility and Ante Up, the latter of which provides MASSIVE Gun and Skill damage boosts based on how small your magazine is.

  • Hot Slugger is a favorite, has the perfect 1-mag and feels very nice with the gameplay loop, being capable of mobbing and even bossing to an extent.
  • Dullahan Jakobs Shotgun is 1-mag. Can roll Daedalus (Underbarrel/Multi-Loader) Sniper Mode.
  • T.K's Wave, Hellwalker and Balor Jakobs Shotgun are 2-mags that also work, albeit they will not benefit fully from Ante Up.
  • Noisy Cricket is pretty funny, even if not the best thing ever. Get a Tediore (Shooting Thrown Gun) roll for more silly.

COV Weapons

COV-licensed weapons count as '0 Current Ammo' and '1 Mag Size' for Ante Up, making for great synergy.

Here are some great weapon to look for with COV (Unlimited Mag):

Any other of your favorite weapons but rolled with COV (Unlimited Mag) license can also be used to great effect due to COV being considered '0 Current Ammo' and '1 Mag Size' for .

Utility Weapons & Gear

Weapons with high hit rate and/or high DOT rate can be used for:

  1. Stacking effects like Prestidigitator
    • Pre-stack the Class Mod's effect and then swap back to Hot Slugger and proceed to enter Windfall as usual.
  2. Triggering DOTs for Alchemy
    • You can leave Alchemy procs to your grenades, though. But it's an option.

Some example weapons for this are:

  • Complex Root
    • Hits large targets many times due to its special effect
  • Katagawa's Revenge
    • Shock mode is great at getting a lot of hits on just about anything
  • Convergence
    • Simply high hit rate due to its special effect and fire rate.
  • Broken Wings
    • Jakobs (Ricochet Accessory) + Daedalus (Underbarrel/Multi-Loader) Shotgun Mode. If Cryo, this can even be used to stack Prestidigitator on yourself.
  • Acey May
    • Elemental + Jakobs (Ricochet Accessory) + optionally COV (Unlimited Mag). Many hits makes for a lot of Alchemy and Prestidigitator.

Tediore Weapons

Tediores can actually work very well with C4SH. I recommend checking Shank's Tediore Build if you want to incorporate elements or fully transition to Tediore.

REPKIT

Kill Spring,War Paint, Order Repkit andTriple Bypass are all good choices of Repkit with their own relative strengths.

Look for these effects, or combinations of them if applicable:

  • Amp (Amplified)
  • Enrage (Experimental)
  • Reload Speed (Dextrous)
  • Fire Rate (Spasmodic)

ORDNANCE

Waterfall, Countermeasure or any Epic with Lingering + Alchemic.

  • Ricochet + Artillery + Alchemic grenades are also excellent for the purposes of fortune stacking.
    • If you're using Prestidigitator, Exacting is preferred over Alchemic on these grenades.

Firepot and Countermeasure benefit from the massive Gun Damage boosts of Ante Up and are valid damage-oriented options.

Crit Knife Jakobs Grenade is always an option.

SHIELD

Guardian Angel

  • 150% Amp. Overall great pick for any activity.

Watts 4 Dinner

  • 150% Amp, or Amp + Siphon or just Siphon. Has the highest potential.
    • The Bonus Shock Damage is another source of Alchemy, and also applies itself to Groundbreaker.

Super Soldier

  • Siphon, or your preferred choice of Augment. Great to use with the COV (Unlimited Mag) weapons.

Firewerks

  • Excellent option for mobbing.

Hopscotch

  • With x2 Turtle, is the best defensive option.

Cindershelly and Pandoran Momento

  • Both of these have nice defensive effects, while still being able to roll offensive augments like Amp. Can also go for Turtle instead.

CLASS MOD

Stat rolls to look for on any Class Mod:

  • Skill Crit Chance
  • Gun Crit Chance
  • Damage Dealt
  • Skill Damage
  • Gun Damage
  • Fire Rate
  • Reload Speed

Gamer

  • +3 or +2 Trick Shot; +4 or +5 Tender Hearts

Bleed is a great funnel to direct our excess of Skill Damage towards. Great damage boosts, great mobbing and bossing burst power.

Prestidigitator

  • +1 Bloodstained Moon; +5 Tender Hearts; +1 Any

Has a very involved gameplay loop that involves pre-stacking it, but once you learn to use it, it is extremely strong, having nice utility in triggering your augments and being capable of delivering Groundbreaker through The Cooler.

Ludopath

  • +5 Ante Up; + Any

Absurdly massive soup that can be fed even further into I Am A Gun, Bear Arms and Groundbreaker. A perfect choice for burst damage and one-shots. We don't care about the Class Mod's special effect here.

  • Triggerbot with +5 Vigorish is a nice Epic alternative with access to 3 stat rolls. It won't outdo +5 Ante Up, but is still nice.

Trainer

  • +5 The Wilds; +2 Dealer's Bluff
    • If your Trainer has points in Dealer's Bluff, you can skip investing the 1/3 Dealer's Bluff in the skill tree and instead use that point elsewhere, like Stack the Deck, Legerdemain or Insurance.

Why would I use this class mod on Sleight of Hand?

  • The Wilds is a very powerful Global Bonus Element which will apply to all of your damage, including Groundbreaker, and it also gets DOUBLED by The Cooler being equipped.

Gambler

  • At least +1 Can't Stop Winning, + the rest in O Fortuna or Red Moon Rising

Nice and comfortable alternative that makes entering Windfall much easier due to Can't Stop Winning while still retaining all the great boosts from blue tree. Good for any activity, but a bit lower damage.

Great if you want to make COV (Unlimited Mag) licensed weapon usage easier on this variant.

Whale

+5 Payout; +1 Turn of Fate; +1 Any

Fun passive effect, enables a lot more spam. Turn of Fate is great sustain too.

ENHANCEMENT

Stat rolls to look for on any Enhancement:

  • Gun Equip Speed
    • This is excellent for QOL, especially if you want to use COV (Unlimited Mag) weapons during Windfall.
    • It also makes the animation of getting in and out of Sleight of Hand significantly smoother.
  • Gun Damage
  • Gun Type Damage
  • Gun Splash Radius
  • Gun Type Splash Radius
  • Gun Crit Damage
  • Gun Type Crit Damage

NOTE: When not having a 1-shot reload Weapon or an Underbarrel in mind, the below enhancements are all under the assumption you will have a COV (Unlimited Mag) licensed part. Remember that COV is a Magazine Licensed Part, so it cannot roll alongside Torgue or Ripper unless the gun's manufacturer is respectively one of those.

Quintain | Bounce Pass Jakobs Enhancement

  • Great choices due to Spread Launcher, Hot Slugger and Jakobs-licensed weaponry.

Pumper |Studfinder | Head Ringer Torgue Enhancement

  • Great for torgue guns/licensed underbarrels.
    • The Air Burst effect is extremely powerful for mobbing and against Vile/Ordonite enemies. Don't sleep on it.

Disruptor | Binger | High Roller Ripper Enhancement

  • Good options for Ripper weapons.

Combo | Nexus | Junction Atlas Enhancement

  • These can be nice for bossing with Atlas-licensed guns.

Hephaestian | Gatherer | Scion | Bullet Fabricator Daedalus Enhancement

  • Good options for Daedalus and Daedalus-licensed weaponry.

Firmware

Ordnance FirmwareSkillcraft
Utilities
Class Mod FirmwareHigh Caliber
Shield FirmwareActive Fire
Enhancement FirmwareHigh Caliber

2/3 Skillcraft or 2/3 Deadeye | 2/3 High Caliber | 1/3 Active Fire

  • Generalist setup. You can pick Deadeye over Skillcraft if you like the accuracy boost.

3/3 Active Fire | 2/3 Skillcraft or 2/3 High Caliber or 2/3 Deadeye

  • Very powerful, mainly for Order weaponry and chargeable underbarrels.

3/3 Daed-dy O | 2/3 High Caliber

  • Can bring out the most of some underbarrels.

3/3 High Caliber | 2/3 Skillcraft

  • If the projectile has splash and works with the piercing effect, then you can use High Caliber for doubled hits. Spread Launcher Jakobs Shotgun is an example.

Other Options

2/3 Rubberband man is a decent pick if you find yourself struggling with sustain.

Specialization

Specialization 1The Best Defense
Specialization 2I Am A Gun
Specialization 3Bear Arms
Specialization 4Groundbreaker

The Best Defense | I Am A Gun | Bear Arms | Groundbreaker

  • Like it or not, this specialization setup is extremely powerful. Groundbreaker is skill and melee damage, making it beyond powerful here since we can scale it very well through Ante Up, I Am A Gun and Bear Arms. You can deliver it through Wretched Shadows, The Cooler or simply a melee attack/slam.

The Best Defense | Riddle You This | I Am A Gun | A Honed Mind

  • This setup is nice if you don't want to use Groundbreaker. It's also the best setup at boosting the Bleed ticks from Gamer.
    • Since you might not always get great uptime from Riddle You This, consider swapping it for Bullet Train or one of the other options below.
    • Bear Arms is a great pick instead of either Riddle You This or A Honed Mind if running the Mantra.

Other Options

Riddle You This is decent but depending on the loadout you might not have good uptime on it. When using guns that can easily maintain it, slot it in place of The Best Defense.

Bullet Train can be nice QOL, and usually better than Riddle You This for boss bursting unless it's a longer fight like Bloomreaper and you're shooting Hot Slugger a lot instead of using underbarrels.

Contamination is alright for Alchemy but mostly not necessary.

CQC can be triggered from Wretched Shadows, The Cooler, Mantra, Slippy or a melee attack.

Gameplay

Cards have a significantly more involved setup time than totems, but the damage peak is considerably higher when you do it right. If you don't like the 'rain dance', consider trying the totem variants.

MOBBING

Sweeten the Pot + The Cooler or Cowboy

Throw grenades to start Fortune buildup, Repkit if you want, shoot Hot Slugger/chosen 1-mag weapon until you enter Windfall, then activate Sleight of Hand.

During Sleight of Hand, throw cards of different elements, and specifically look out to throw the Sweeten the Pot Color Spray card. It will grant a lot of bonus damage through Vigorish.

Keep on repeating this process during your mobbing cycle and that's it. Remember that Action Skill activation also has chance to proc Windfall.

  • Swap to Spread Launcher/any other big splash option if you want to quickly dispatch Crystal enemies. They don't really deserve any sympathy anyway.

If you want to be funny, you can introduce Amp Repkit + Needler Rooker or Kill Drones Order AR in your cycles.

BOSSING

  • You can skip having to throw grenades by simply pre-stacking some fortune through reloading a few times before entering the boss arena, which in turn also lets you use other grenades if you want. There's no way to avoid some gambling though and you may accidentally Windfall.

Sweeten the Pot + The Cooler

Throw all grenades to buildup Fortune. Shoot Hot Slugger/chosen 1-mag weapon until you enter Windfall, deploy Wretched Shadows and use Repkit for your boosts, then activate Sleight of Hand.

  • During Sleight of Hand, throw cards of different elements, and specifically look out to throw the Sweeten the Pot Color Spray card. It will grant a lot of bonus damage through Vigorish. You can then end the skill early if you want to go back to gunplay.

If you instead want to burst the boss with one-shots/underbarrels while getting the max damage possible, then the rain dance is a little more complicated:

Throw all grenades to buildup Fortune. Shoot Hot Slugger/chosen 1-mag weapon until you enter Windfall, quickly swap to your intended weapon (if not doing a Hot Slugger kill), deploy Wretched Shadows and use Repkit for your boosts, then activate Sleight of Hand.

  • During Sleight of Hand, throw cards of different elements, and specifically look out to throw the Sweeten the Pot Color Spray card. It will grant a lot of bonus damage through Vigorish. As soon as you get a few cards to hit or even just one Color Spray card, end the skill and perform your one-shot.
