Build Overview

This is Build Guide for my DRAGON Monk Wyvern Build for Endgame Invoker in 0.4 and 0.5

Changes to the Build in 0.5:

So in 0.5 most parts of the build are untouched and should be easy to play / one tap bosses and so on.

The only change affecting it is lower ES recovery from passives but we are getting most of the recovery from Runes in Belt (Use x2 Recovery rate) and from rolls on the items.

Just in case it can be a safe option to add a few more passives for ES recovery in 0.5 anyway.

▸ Why Wyvern Invoker Monk?

At the moment Invoker Monk is a VERY STRONG option for the Wyvern builds.

Since Invoker Monk Lead me through Grace... stack VERY good with Energy shield Builds and can provide A LOT of free spirit, because of it we can stack Berserk (Which is free with Chaos Inoculation), Eternal Rage and Herald of Ice.

Wyvern Rend provides a lot of elemental damage which stacks pretty well with Sunder my Enemies... + we can add Power Charges from Pounce + Culmination II and Ailith's Chimes.

All of that while I am the Blizzard... will help us with triggering Explosions from Herald of Ice for amazing clear.

And for the Single target Damage Wyvern Monk Build is already covered, since Wyvern has access to Oil Barrage which can decimate even T3 Pinnacles and 81 Max Difficulty map bosses in a few seconds.

All of that make Invoker Wyvern Monk build a very good alternative to Druid Builds that can clear All content just fine.

▸ Campaign Rewards:

Venom: Stun Threshold,

Tattoos: Resistances

Pillars: Resistances, Movement Speed or Global Defense (can repick at any moment)

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Two Button Gameplay
  • Very Tanky (10k+ ES)
  • 4 seconds T3 Pinnacles
  • Explodes the Screen
  • Charge Managment
  • Less ES Recovery in 0.5

❗ It's MANDATORY to get Flat Life regeneration on ANY of your items, otherwise you will be dying out of nowhere when Berserk is on.

Any Life regeneration higher than 1 will work.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Since we're Invoker Monk, we mostly utilize Energy shield based items to synergize with Lead me through Grace...

▸Weapon

For Wyvern Monk we will use Talisman.

  • You need to get as high Physical Damage on your Talisman as possible.
  • A stat that is mandatory for Herald of Ice explosions is "Gain extra damage as Physical". It's also giving a lot of damage.
  • The damage stat that's mandatory is + level to Attack skills.
  • Other stats such as Attack speed are helping with damage and make Rend much comfier to play.
  • You can also get a Talisman with "Critical strike Chance".

Since we have no way to increase our rage with the tree, it's very important to get a Talisman base with Maximum Rage implicit.

You can find a Talisman Crafting guide here. Alternatively, you can buy a Talisman with Crit Chance.

In the 2nd weapon set we need to get ANY Wand with Critical Strike Chance for Spells and and Effigy of Cruelty. We will be using 2nd weapon set to cast Entangle to blind bosses and apply Critical Weakness.

▸ Armour

Since we're playing Invoker, all our items should be either Energy Shield or Energy Shield + Evasion.

Body Armour

  • As high Energy Shield as you can find, 1000+ is perfect
  • Resistances to reach cap
  • Faster start of Energy Shield Recharge is a very common stat that will help you a lot with sustain.

Gloves

  • Since our bossing skill is Oil Barrage, it's not too important to get + to melee skills on the gloves.
  • Instead, focus on getting very high Attack Speed and flat damage: Physical and Lightning / Cold.

Helmet

  • Your helemet should be 450+ Energy Shield
  • To boost your Crit chance, try to get a helmet with Critical Strike Chance
  • You can get increased Energy Shield recharge rate

▸ Jewelry

Amulet

  • Crit Chance and Crit Damage will boost your mapping and bossing damage
  • Get either + level to melee gems (to boost mapping Rend damage) OR + level to projectile gems (to boost bossing damage)
  • Instill Tribal Fury for better clear.

Rings

  • Flat damage, preferably Phys + Lightning / Cold
  • Cap resistances
  • One of the rings is a good place to get FLAT Life regeneration. Any number higher than 1 will work.

Belt

  • We use Darkness Enthroned (body armour) to get Atmohua's Soul Core of Retreat and Craiceann's Rune of Recovery
  • You can use Headhunter instead if you have it - the build is flexible and will benefit great from it!

Jewels

Priority:

  • Crit Chance / Crit Damage
  • Increased Energy Shield %

Nice to have:

  • Skill speed while shapeshifted
  • Energy shield recharge rate / faster start of ES recharge

For the Heart of the Well:

  • Damage as Extra Lightning / Fire / Cold
  • Skill speed
  • Crit Chance

❗ If Berserk is on, you NEED to have at least 1 FLAT life regeneration on ANY of your items: helmet, boots or rings. Otherwise you will be DYING.

ANY Flat life regeneration higher than 1 will work.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

▸ Boss rotation

In order to kill bosses in one tap, we need to make sure that our Oil Barrage is going to crit and is going to be empowered. If it will not crit and won't be empowered, it will deal very low damage.

  • First we use Entangle in the 2nd Weapon set together with Effigy of Cruelty.
  • Once the boss spawns, we Rend it 4-5 times to stack combo on Pounce
  • Then we Pounce to get Power charges. Ideally we get at least 2.
  • Cast Oil Barrage.

If your gear is not too good, you might run into an issue that your initial Oil Barrage doesn't crit even with such setup. In this case just repeat, fortunately stacking charges is very easy in this setup.

▸ How to Explode Screens

To explode screens, we use Herald of Ice together with armour break combination to achieve something close to Herald explosion chains. In order to do it, we need a source of stable freeze.

Since Rend is mostly a lightning attack in its empowered version, we use Embitter to make sure that al sources of extra damage for Rend become cold damage instead. Combined with Bhatair's Vengeance we also get extra 40% Cold damage when we freeze - which happens constantly with this setup.

❗If your Herald of Ice doesn't explode in this setup, check the map modifiers: 60% Enemy Ailment Threshold will make explosions less frequent and at 100%+ the explosions will stop functioning.

It's not a big issue, since we have Melee Splash instilled on the amulet anyway. We can still run such maps, but it becomes less pleasant.

▸ Possible Replacement for Convalescence

If you believe that your survivabiliy and sustain is enough, you can swap Convalescence with Savage Fury for bosses. Personally, I don't find it necessary, since we're killing T3 almost instantly anyway and it will only require us Rend the boss for longer to stack up the Fury.

▸ If you don't have enough Spirit

Apart from the 100 Spirit that you get in the Campaign, the rest will be coming from the Invoker passive Lead me through Grace.... You need to get good items with as high Energy Shield as you can to get the 230+ Spirit.

The mandatory Auras are Herald of Ice, Eternal Rage and Charge Regulation, so if you don't have enough Spirit for the rest, get these 3 and then one that you need at the given moment: Berserk for damage and Convalescence for sustain and survivability.

▸ Gem Levels

If you don't have extra stats on your gear, it's very likely that you will not have enough Strength or Dexterity to get high level auras like Berserk, Eternal Rage or Charge Regulation. In this case, get as low level auras as you can, roughly level 14.

▸ How to Avoid Stuns

Since Rend is a pretty melee skill, we need to beef up our Stun threshold. Apart from all the stun nodes that we take in the tree, if you're still getting stunned, path to Abasement. It will completely solve all the stun issues if you have 8k+ Energy Shield.

▸ Ascendancy

The Invoker is very versatile and you can swap points around depending on your playstyle and needs.

The mandatory points are Lead me through Grace... and Sunder my Enemies...

If you want to have a bigger ES pool you can replace one of the extra damage nodes with Faith is a Choice to get Meditate and overflow your ES.

Alternatively, you can get ...and I Shall Rage for Unbound Avatar (it could help you with some bosses). But generally, I find my setup more optimal and easy to use.
