Marathon Season 2: NIGHTFALL Begins June 2nd

Marathon's Season 2: NIGHTFALL begins on June 2nd.. Here is everything you need to know about the end-of-season events and what to look forward to in Season 2.

TLDR

What is affected by the Season reset:

What is not affected by the Season reset:

• Cosmetics and weapons unlocked and redeemed during Season 1
• Codex challenges, including partial progress (except Runner and Ranked levels)

  • Feats

  • Map

• Faction Unlocks
• • Access to each faction you had previously unlocked is retained; no need to repeat Liaison Contracts
• Initial Priority Contracts
• • Completion status of the first contract for each faction is retained
• LUX and SILK balances
• Rewards Pass progress
• Cryo Archive Subroutines progress

End of Season Update

As the season comes to an end, rewards are amped up to the max to make your runes more exciting.

Guaranteed Loot

Wardens now always drop locked room keys. Map events (Intercept, Lockdown, Convoys, etc.) are now guaranteed on every run.

Escalation in UESC Forces

Expect more UESC dropships, crash sites, and a "new threat" in Dire Marsh and Perimeter.

Cryo Archive Increased Availability

The map will be available every day from May 21st to June 2nd. Players will receive a free Sponsored Kit daily, so you will not lose everything. 

Players who want an extra challenge can join the Cryo Archive: Ranked, which is available from May 24th to May 28th. It does require:

• Runner Level 25
• 3000 Loadout Requirements (low stakes)
• 10,000 Loadout Requirements (high stakes)

Faster Progress

Faction XP gains are increased from all sources until the season ends to make it easier for you to get the rewards you want!

Gameplay Buffs: Rook’s Signal Mask is being buffed (longer duration/quieter footsteps), and Key Templates are shifting from "Fragile" to "Compromised" (they no longer break on death).

1.0.9 Balance Changes

Rook Update

One of the big perks of doing runs with Rook is being able to sneak around the UESC, so they’re buffing Signal Mask to make it easier to avoid detection.

Key Template Changes

For the rest of Season 1, Templates will be set to Compromised rather than Fragile to make it easier for players.

New Ways to Find Keys

After Update 1.0.9, there will be a chance for Deluxe keys to drop from every wall safe you loot.

Prepare for the Reset

When Season 2 begins, gameplay progression will be reset. So make sure all unclaimed gear and equipment reward packages are claimed now.

Cosmetic items, including styles, titles, and emblems, will autocomplete at the end of the season and automatically be available for use in Season 2.

Season 1 Ranked Rewards

Your current rank will be reset at the start of Season 2, and you can start your climb again. You will gain these rewards based on your achievements this season.

Heading into Season 2:NIGHTFALL

Season 2:NIGHTFALL begins on June 2nd. There is a new Night Marsh zone, a new Runner shell, new weapons, a new system to customise your Runner shell stats called The Cradle, and much, much more!

When Season 2 begins, CyberAcme will be doing sponsored kits for your hard work. You can claim your kits in the Codex based on your final Runner Level this season:

• Runner Level 10: Enhanced CyberAcme Sponsored Kit
• Runner Level 25: Enhanced CyberAcme Sponsored Kit
• Runner Level 50: Deluxe CyberAcme Sponsored Kit
• Runner Level 75: Superior CyberAcme Sponsored Kit
