Intro

Executor is good against Libra, especially when playing him solo. But like most other character suffers in the weapon category because of the lack of Madness weapons. Luckily, in the latest patch that added the enhanced Gaping Jaw boss fight, they increased the chance for weapons to have madness damage on them. Executor is recommended, like most other characters, not to take the deal that Libra offers at the start of the fight; there is next to no upside with too much downside for him.

Executor does work very well against Libra because you can stagger him quite easily with most weapon arts on Katanas. You can also quickly destroy his sigils with your ultimate during his meditate phase, but he does struggle with destroying the sigils in the sky without a bow.

Equipment Loadout

Armaments

Your primary weapon should be capable of striking while guarding and inflicting either lightning damage or a status effect. This enables consistent pressure without compromising your defence. Pair it with an off-hand shield that offers high Guard Boost and strong damage negation, particularly against physical and holy damage.

Best-in-slot

Alternatives

With the fact that we rely on getting lucky with finding a weapon with madness damage, we can choose weapons that complement our playstyle the best and are the best to run on Executor in general. Having Madness Damage on your weapon is still a major plus, but if you can't, the other weapons work great too!

Talismans

Best-in-slot

  • Winged Sword Insignia
  • Warrior Jar Shard
  • Dagger Talisman

Winged Sword Insignia is still the best talisman for most Dexterity weapons, giving you a huge stat boost in damage. The Warrior Jar Shard also works amazingly with most Dexterity weapons because most of them have great weapon arts. The Dagger Talisman is also good, but not as good as the other 2.

Alternatives

  • Lord of Blood's Exultation
  • Erdtree's Favor
  • Haligdrake Talisman

Consumables

Best-in-slot

  • Boiled Crab / Boiled Prawn
  • Greenburst Crystal Tear / Greenspill Crystal Tear
  • Pickled Turtle Neck
  • Clarifying Boluses

Game Plan and Pathing

Day 1

The Executor’s success mainly depends on your skill. If you can deflect well, you are gonna do fine; otherwise, you might struggle a bit until you learn how to do it. To start, reach level 2 and look at the map. We want to find both churches and see if a settlement has spawned on the map since this is not guaranteed. If it spawned, keep its placement in mind for either day 2 or if you can spare 45k runes, since the loot you can buy there is very good, even if a bit expensive. We want to path towards one of the churches and kill bosses inside Forts, Encampments, and Cathedrals while moving there. This will most likely allow us to reach level 5-6, after which we can either do an Evergaowl if we got lucky and found a key, or some field bosses if you see any around.

If we pass the Central Castle on our way, look what boss enemies spawned inside. Either Crucible Knights or Banished Knights means we want to clear this on day 2, while Trolls means we want to avoid it.

We do hope to reach level 8+ by the end of this day, but if you are skilled enough, aim for level 9-10

If you cannot find weapons, we have listed any weapon from the following categories that will perform well: Curved Swords, Thrusting Swords, Katanas, Twinblades, or Straight Swords.

Day 2

Day 2, what we do depends on the Shifting earth. If we have no event and Trolls didn’t spawn on the central castle, we want to go there and get as many runes as we can, aiming for level 12 before we kill the boss inside at the top and bottom.

After that, you can kill some elite field bosses, go to churches, or kill more Evergaowl bosses.

If Noklateo or the Crater spawned, we want to go there immediately for their rewards, especially if you have a good weapon you want to upgrade inside the Crater.

If the Rot Swamp spawned, do the central castle first, then go towards there since the circle with the boss will always spawn inside at the end of day 2. After you unlock the secret inside, you can kill some field bosses because the place is stacked full of them.

Day 3

For this guide, we are fighting Libra, so here are some tips to fight him! As stated above, Libra will first offer a deal, refuse this, it's not worth it.

After this, the Fight will immediately start. Libra will have 3 attacks in phase 1: He can either teleport towards you, summoning 3 sigils around him which explode after a short delay, he can put up a sigil in front of him which will then shoot madness projectiles, or he can spawn a sigil below you which detonates after a short delay.

Once you reach around 60-70% HP, Libra will start to meditate, summoning sigils around him. You need to destroy these sigils; otherwise, he becomes empowered for a while. This gets harder with each meditation he does, summoning them in the air eventually.

If he becomes empowered, he will triple all of his projectiles and sigils, gaining some more spell-casting skills and eventually ending this phase with a huge AOE Madness attack that can instakill unprepared teams. The only way to stop this attack is by staggering him out of it.

If you did destroy the sigils, however, he will become enraged, attacking much faster but mostly with telegraphed melee attacks, which makes this a lot easier to deal with than his empowered phase. This will continue until he dies.

Additional Tips

  • The Executor works best when you can deflect attacks consistently; if you cannot, he becomes a lot worse.
  • Be sure to use consumables consistently. They are found everywhere, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find replacements for the ones you used.
  • Your ultimate is very good at resurrecting your entire team if they are downed, so don’t be afraid to use it specifically for this.
