Damage Types (Elements)

In Arknights: Endfield, Operators (characters) can have one of 5 damage types:

  • Physical
  • Heat
  • Electric
  • Cryo
  • Nature

The 4 damage types other than Physical are referred to as “Arts.” Physical Damage can inflict Physical Statuses, while Arts can apply Inflictions, Bursts, and Reactions.

Arts Inflictions, Bursts, & Reactions

Physical Statuses

There are 4 different types of Physical Statuses, normally applied with Physical Damage skills. Each of these statuses will apply “Vulnerable”, but may have different effects if the target is already Vulnerable.

Vulnerable: Hitting an enemy for the first time with a skill with Physical Status applies Vulnerable instead of the actual Physical Status. Vulnerable can stack up to 4 times.

  • Crush: Make the enemy Vulnerable. If the enemy is already Vulnerable, then consume all Vulnerable stacks and deal massive Physical DMG.
  • Breach: Make the enemy Vulnerable. If the enemy is already Vulnerable, then consume all Vulnerable stacks and make the target take more Physical DMG for a certain duration.
  • Lift: Make the enemy Vulnerable. If the enemy is already Vulnerable, then add 1 more Vulnerable stack, deal some Stagger, and lift the enemy into mid-air.
  • Knock Down: Make the enemy Vulnerable. If the enemy is already Vulnerable, then add 1 more Vulnerable stack, deal some Stagger, and Knock the enemy down.

Stagger: The controlled operator's Final Strike and most skills also deal Stagger to the enemies hit. Once the Stagger meter is full, the enemy becomes Staggered. Such enemies cannot perform actions and take more damage for a short duration.

Arts System

Arts Inflictions

Operator Skills can sometimes apply Arts Inflictions to enemies.

  • Heat Infliction
  • Electric Infliction
  • Cryo Infliction
  • Nature Infliction

Arts Bursts

When you apply an Infliction of the same Element or Art, this will trigger an Arts Burst, dealing more Arts Damage of said Element, and adding 1 stack of Arts Infliction, up to a max of 4.

  • Heat Infliction + Heat Infliction = Heat Burst
  • Electric Infliction + Electric Infliction = Electric Burst
  • Cryo Infliction + Cryo Infliction = Cryo Burst
  • Nature Infliction + Nature Infliction = Nature Burst

Arts Reactions

Applying Arts Inflictions of different Elements will trigger an Arts Reaction. When you apply an Arts Infliction, if the enemy has any other Arts Infliction, it will consume both in order to trigger an Arts Reaction.

For example, applying Heat to any enemy with a non-Heat Infliction will consume both to trigger Combustion. The same logic applies to each Element / Arts.

  • Heat - Combustion: Target takes Heat DMG over time.
  • Electric - Electrification: Target temporarily takes more Arts DMG.
  • Cryo - Solidification: Target temporarily unable to move.
  • Nature - Corrosion: Target gradually loses All Resistance over time.

Bonus Reaction - Shatter: To an enemy with active Solidification, apply Vulnerable or Physical Status effects to trigger Shatter: consuming the Solidification and dealing massive Physical DMG.
