We've seen many fundamental shifts throughout The Bazaar's lifespan, including vastly different systems from Open Beta to Official Launch.
We'll be sure to keep you updated if any new info comes to light, but for now, let's dive in to what's been announced so far.
Alongside the release of Season 5, The Bazaar is coming to Steam on August 13th, 2025. With this launch, The Bazaar will now be moving away from its free-to-play experience.
Those who have played up until now will still have access via the Tempo Launcher as before. However, moving forward the game must be purchased for $40 USD (or the equivalent in your currency).
Note: On launch the game was available at a discounted bundle price of $20, with its regular price of $40. Its original 3-day window was later opened up again. However, from September 10th, 2025 onward, the game will be regularly priced at $20.
Purchasing the game will unlock the three base Heroes; Vanessa, Pygmalien, and Dooley. All additional Heroes will be available as DLC for $20 USD each. Heroes can no longer be purchased with Gems.
Existing players who want to play on Steam will have to purchase the game at full price, regardless of whether or not they own the Heroes. However, they can always continue using the Tempo Launcher.
Linking your Tempo account to Steam is incredibly seamless. Simply purchase the game on Steam, open it up, then select how you'd like to login.
Now that the game is moving away from its free-to-play roots, it's able to get rid of the common monetization systems that exist in today's day and age.
The Prize Pass is now 100% free and no longer offers paid tier skips. Additionally, Hero Expansions have been removed, meaning the new content is no longer gated behind time/money (or Gems). Everyone will have access to the same pool of items at all times (provided they have the Hero).
Subscriptions have also been axed entirely, but those who have them will still earn double XP and chests (now up to 12) until they expire.
Players will now have complete freedom to play their game mode of choice, AND be rewarded for it! Ranked Mode will no longer have an entry cost, and Normal Mode will now award chests.
End of run chest rewards have been increased to the 2/4/6 baseline that existed for subscribers, meaning everyone will have access to even more cosmetics.
They've also made adjustments to matchmaking during a player's first Normal games, which should smooth out the overall learning experience.
As for Ranked, Seasons will still continue at their usual monthly rate while providing their extra rewards. Where things change is the contents of chests, as now cosmetics are no longer Season-exclusive.
Players will be able to acquire almost all available cosmetics, including boards and albums from previous Seasons.
With the restructured monetization and changes to chest cosmetics, The Bazaar has canceled its plans of implementing a player-to-player marketplace. Since this is no longer a pending feature, they have decided to remove the ability for accounts to have duplicate cosmetics.
All owned duplicates will be converted into Gems based on their rarity, in which you can later spend on any future cosmetics you don't already own. Additionally, mint numbers have now come to an end and will be removed from all existing cosmetics.
Overall, while some aspects of this may be missed, it'll allow more time to develop and improve the actual gameplay. A single-player mode has been teased, and a mobile client is still in the works, along with much more.
