Ornn (1G) - Defender

[Link to Champion Page]
Ornn is a Defender for 1 gold who pairs well with another 1 gold Defender - Leona! This will be a common front line in early games as the Defender trait offers Armor and Magic Resistance to the team with them getting additional bonuses.
Ornn’s ability Bellows Breath has an active where he gains shield and deals magic damage to enemies in a cone. He also has a Quest where for each player combat he stores damage blocked as Forge Power, doubled at 3-star. Once you hit the Forge Power quest you gain an Artifact Anvil!
This makes Ornn decide a lot of the reason to play Elderwood as it is a reroll trait. Having a lot of Ornns means you have the best chance of cashing out an Artifact Anvil as he will have more blocked damage.
I love one star units that can scale such as Ornn, and I think this design is amazing and something we have not seen much in TFT. I am excited to see how Ornn is utilized by high level players.
Xayah (1G) - Fae + Rapidfire

[Link to Champion Page]
Xayah is a Fae and Rapidfire unit with the ability of Deadly Plumage where she gains attack speed for the next attacks. These attacks are replaced with features that deal physical damage and reduce armor.
Fae’s trait makes it so a team’s damage, healing, and shielding attracts Pixies which grants champions attack damage and ability power and lets them heal when they fall by a health Threshold.
This means Xayah pairs well with Rakan who is a 1 gold Fae, and I would not be surprised if Xayah and Rakan become a common reroll composition in Set 18! Tristana and Lillia are also Fae units that can work with Xayah.
Alistar (2G) - Brawler

[Link to Champion Page]
Alistar is a 2 gold Brawler who can pair with Kobuko (1G), Rek’Sai (1G), Krug (3G), and Sett (4G). His ability Triumphant roar restores health, cleanses any disables, and heals the two lowest percent allies. Then he slams the current target, dealing magic damage and stunning them.
LeBlanc (2G) - Spellweaver

[Link to Champion Page]
LeBlanc is a 2 gold unit with the potential to be an early game carry and Ability Power item holder. Her ability Mirror Image has both a passive and an active.
Her passive, after player combats the strongest LeBlanc has a chance to create a copy of an ally on your board increased per takedown. With her active she launches a mirror image at the current target, dealing magic damage to adjacent enemies.
Hecarim (3G) - Vanguard

[Link to Champion Page]
Hecarim has the ability Spirit of Dread where he gains armor and magic resistance for 3 seconds and restores health over the duration. He launches spectral riders at the nearest enemies, dealing magic damage, and stunning them for seconds.
This ability costs 110 mana so it is an important cast to make sure Hecarim gets his cast off. Vanguard can pair with Elise (2G), Hecarim (3G), Ancient Sentinel (4G), and Taric (5G) which are a lot of solid options if you want to get Vanguard on your board.
Ezreal (4G) - Executioner

[Link to Champion Page]
Ezreal is an Executioner who costs 4 gold which makes him likely to be one of the carries of the Elderwood composition especially if after rerolling the trait is looking to cap out higher.
With his ability, Nature’s Wrath, he blinks away from the current target, deals physical damage to them, and gains attack speed. Every 5th cast consumes the attack speed granted from Nature’s Wrath and fires a blast through the target that deals physical damage, reduced by for each enemy it passes through.
Gnar (5G) - Sprykin + Brawler

[Link to Champion Page]
Gnar is a 5 gold Brawler who has synergy with Alistar due to the Brawler trait. His ability, Rage Gene costs 70 mana with a passive and an active. For the passive, he gains rage per second and rage per attack.
With the active, Gnar transforms into Mega Gnar and leaps into the largest group of enemies within hexes. Then, he deals physical damage to enemies within a certain number of hexes, reducing their armor and magic resistance and stuns them for a second. Mega Gnar gains health, and replaces his ability with Grab n’ Throw.
His Grab n’ Throw ability throws a target at the farthest enemy, dealing physical damage to them and physical damage to enemies they pass through. If there is only 1 enemy left, throw them off the battlefield instead.
Lux (5G) - Avatar

[Link to Champion Page]
Lux at 5 gold has a unique trait: Avatar. Where if she has the Elderwood Bonus her Final Spark casts grant all allies increased max health for the rest of combat.
Her passive is on cast all allies that share a trait with Lux gain mana. Finally, her active is to fire a laser towards the largest group of enemies that deals magic damage, reduced by each enemy hit.
