Build Overview

This build uses Shackles of the Wretched with a specific roll so that we reflect all ailments onto ourselves when we apply said ailment to an enemy. It can also be corrupted to be missing the line "You cannot be chilled for 6 seconds after being chilled" We pair this with Sierran Inheritance to reverse the chill effect we perpetually apply to ourselves, allowing us to gain 70% action speed which is more effective than typical attack/movement speed, and effectively feels like permanent acceleration shrine. Typically you'd only be able to get up to 50% chill magnitude, but because we are a Stormweaver we get Heavy Snows so we have 2 instances of 35% chill, i.e. 70% chill.

However, because we reflect both shock and ignite to ourselves, we need to get ignite immunity through Crystallised Immunities, or you can simply run 0 fire damage, but you'd have to take off Headhunter. To prevent ourselves from being permanently shocked, all we need is a Grounding Charm with 30% reduced charges used.

Whirling Assault is a great benefactor of action speed, allowing the animation to be significantly faster, and not slowing down your character as much as it would ordinarily. This skill is a screen clearing monster as is, and does absolutely insane amounts of damage all things considered.

The only downside of this build is that it's fairly squishy because we sacrifice both chest and gloves slot, however we do such high damage and clear the entire screen it's rarely an issue, but if you want to be tanky or try this at your own risk in HC, refer to the tanky variant.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Very Very Fast
  • Insane Damage
  • Spin2Win
  • Screen Clear
  • Strong with low investment other than the gloves
  • Gloves are 37D atm
  • Low max hit unless tank setup

The gear above is my current character, do not attempt to replicate it 1:1 just prioritize your gear similarly. For more information check out the video.

Here's a trade link to the gloves so you don't buy the wrong pair - You can in theory get a cheap pair that does have the chill cooldown on it, but you'd need to scale over 100% chill duration, and you wouldn't benefit from Heavy Snows because the second application wouldn't be applied. You can do this until you have the funds for a well corrupted pair, and if you're playing a different ascendancy this is perfectly fine to do but much lower QoL

Try to get as much ES as humanly possible on both your boots, helmet, and amulet since it's your literal only layer of defense

Headhunter is optional, and it will occasionally give you a mod that reduces the effect of chill on yourself down to just 17%, if you see that your chill on yourself is that low, you simply take it off and put it back on. It's annoying but worth it because Headhunter gives you immense speed, damage, survivability, and even AoE. If you don't like having to pay attention to that, consider using Soul Tether Ingenuity or a normal belt with life/resistances or something.

Rite of Passage and Olroth's Resolve are entirely optional. Use a Stone Charm instead.

There are hardly any quarterstaves that have crit chance, crit damage, +5 levels, and also gain % as extra phys. I had to craft my own, which is the item you see above. You want the gain % as extra phys in the prefix to enable Armour Explosion in our Herald of Thunder. You can opt out of the crit damage in the suffixes and likely have an easier time finding one. You can instead get % chance to gain onslaught when you kill an enemy if you want, but keep in mind attack speed doesn't do much for us. Here's a trade search without crit damage

Put a bunch of random red gems in both quarterstaff strikes to enable ignite immunity through Crystallised Immunities

Garukhan's Resolve is expensive but extremely strong, if you save up for any lineage it should be this one Atalui's Bloodletting enables our Whirling Assault to instead cost life which we instantly leech back due to a leech roll on our rings. It typically has an extremely high mana cost which is a pain in the ass to deal with. You can instead use Efficiency II until you get Atalui's Bloodletting, and get 1 leech mana as phys damage on your other ring. Rigwald's Ferocity is literally 5% better than Heft so it's not a big deal, and that's why I have everything assigned to weapon set 2 as opposed to 1

Rakiata's Flow in Herald of Thunder is giga overkill, I just had one from my previous builds. Use Cold Attunement instead to save some $

Thunderstorm and Hand of Chayula are used purely for bossing, Thunderstorm guarantee applies shock, and Hand of Chayula is used for Sniper's Mark & Mark for Death II primarily

Charged Staff is a nice debuffing/buffing tool

Ice Strike paired with Ailith's Chimes and Culmination II allows it to generate power charges that we then spend on Charged Staff. If you kill a frozen enemy with Ice Strike you'll get a nice little damage buff via Bhatair's Vengeance but I wouldn't worry too much about it

Convalescence is a nice oh shit button because we have literally 0 ES recovery

Charge Regulation is extra crit chance/ES since we'll almost always have power charges if you weave in Ice Strike here and there, and we get endurance charges from Armour Break III

Jewels: I recommend getting 2 Time-Lost Sapphire's and placing them near Resonance and Struck Through, due to the immense amount of notables nearby. Any combination of the following stats will be good: Notable Passive Skills Give: Increased Chill Duration, Increased Magnitude of Shock, Increased Magnitude of Ailments, Increased Crit Damage Bonus, Increased Attack Crit Damage Bonus, #% Increased Maximum Life, #% Increased Global Defenses, #% Area of Effect Increased Notable Passive Effect, Small Passives Give Increased Energy Shield, Small Passives Give Increased Attack Damage

You want 1 normal jewel or Heart of the Well with 1 rage on melee hit, crit damage, gain #% of damage as chaos, or energy shield, area of effect, chill duration, shock magnitude, whatever you can find. Only thing that's mandatory is the 1 rage on melee hit
