PoE 2 Build
Warrior
Titan
Negron Tech's Earthshatter / Aftershock TItan
0.4 TLotD
Build Overview
*******Read Changelog for Patch 0.3
TLDR - Still playable but there are more enjoyable / stronger warrior builds out there. Check out my fire warbringer.
Overview
Core concept of the build is Titan Slams - featuring Aftershock . You can use any slam skill you want but I focus on using
Earthshatter and
Hammer of the Gods. We also have a heavy focus on Rage and Leech in the skill tree.
Strengths
- Amazing single target
Above average clear- Visually satisfying
- Very low barrier to entry - low gear requirement
- Somewhat tanky
Weaknesses
- Slow build overall, needs heavy attack speed investment
- Even though tanky, still not as tanky as ES build in general
- Giant's blood needs heavy STR investment, hard to do in SSF
Main Skill
Earthshatter is probably the best slam in the game for consistent dps, featuring a great balance of clear and single target dps. We also use
Hammer of the Gods to supplement our single target DPS, using it against Rares and bosses.
Earthshatter is somewhat of a complex skill yet still simple. When you're able to support it with Upheaval Support, the skill shows its potential.
The build also features Warcry skills (
Infernal Cry
Seismic Cry), which bring utility as well as other benefits such as exploding the
Earthshatter spikes.

+2
I'll release a video that goes into more depth when it comes to gear.
To sum, get all the life / resist / strength you can on gear. Cap res, especially chaos res.
Now the tricky part. Leech as of writing this guide is pretty damn good and there is no sources of leech from what I know, on the tree or anywhere else. We have to get leech on on gear such as weapon, rings and gloves.
If you use say, a Rune slot to get leech on your weapon as I do (3% phys leeched as life) - that is what you leech. Any INCREASES to leech, lets say we get 50% increased Leech amount on tree - we would only be at 4.5% phys leeched as life now.
What does this mean?
Well, you can see getting leech on with good rolls is VERY important now compared to POE 1.
Important offensive pieces
Gloves are very important for maximizing damage, as you can get big suffixes like attack speed, life leech and +level to all melee skills. Flat phys for prefixes is great, although ideally I would have doulbe armour + life for prefixes.
I'll get more into during a later video.

Primary skill setup
The skills listed above, especially
Earthshatter
Hammer of the Gods revolve around single target damage.
My mapping "setup"
The more I play POE 2, the more I realize bossing is such a "small" part of the mapping experience. You might find a boss every 3-5 maps, if that.
With that said, 95% of our gameplay should revolve around smooth mapping -
Tremors Support Gem -
TLDR - I've pretty much just stopped using Tremors. On bosses where it should shine, the procs are just inconsistent with boss movement and phases so I don't swap it in now.
Patch just came out at the time of writing. I personally think Tremors is an incredible support gem. It's a huge increase to damage while bossing. The text of the support actually states each chance of Aftershock is INDEPENDANT - which means that theoretically you can 6 aftershock procs from just this gem.
You can also get more aftershocks from the passive tree and ascendancy which makes 7. Then a guaranteed aftershock from
Seismic Cry as well for a max of 8 in one hit.
To state how good this is - aftershocks "mimic" or "double damage" or "snapshot" the explosion portion of
Earthshatter spikes. This also applies to
Hammer of the Gods.
Lets say you do my
Hammer of the Gods combo, all those multipliers such as Rageforged Premeditation Enraged Warcry Exploit Weakness etc - they get SNAPSHOTTED with the aftershocks.
Normally you would just receive that benefit once - with the first hit. With Tremors and aftershock chance you can see how all of the sudden you're doing absolutely incredible damage, as each aftershock gets the benefit of our warcries, big damage supports like Exploit Weakness etc.
Mapping Skill Choice
Earthshatter -
Splinter (for
Scavenged Plating uptime) - Upheaval Armour Explosion Martial Tempo (for faster mapping) and/or Aftershock .
You can just
Stampede like everyone else but I don't
Stampede personally.
Patch 0.1.0e Nerfs the combo below =/
Currently, the best way to map as a Titan incorporates three primary factors -
Crushing Impacts, Devastate and Armour Explosion.
Any "hit" - even if the single hit "overstuns" per se - still triggers the effects of
Crushing Impacts. The prime for stun into heavy stun STILL HAPPENS in one singe "hit".
You can link those supports to whichever clear skill you want. Whether that's
Leap Slam
Stampede or for me,
Earthshatter ! It's all personal preference. You can then add effects like Magnified Effect and Aftershock to help clear even more. With
Herald of Ash active you'll get amazing clear speed.
You can also link Break Endurance to your clear setup in order to get Endurance charges which
Infernal Cry and
Seismic Cry can consume in order to empower eve more attacks.
Utility Skill Gems
Seismic Cry and
Infernal Cry are our only two warcries so we both of course. I like Premeditation linked to
Seismic Cry so I always have the strongest possible
Hammer of the Gods, but you can switch out the supports between warcries as you please. You can link Rageforged to
Infernal Cry since
Seismic Cry consumes rage even if it doesn't empower attacks so be careful there.
Infernal Cry should always have Raging Cry linked to it in order to smooth out rage generation while mapping and bossing.
Ancestral Warrior Totem linked to
Volcanic Fissure - Font of Rage gives insane rage generation passively. Awesome for bossing and other situations. Another part of this tech is that it stops all rage loss while within range.
Scavenged Plating is amazing and easy to maintain with
Boneshatter or Splinter support linked to a clearing skill, such as
Earthshatter for me.
Berserk is also great, passively granting us more leech as our rage gets higher! Our build features a cap of 51 Rage, even with just 50% increased rage effect we're over now - 75% more damage multiplier for little investment in my opinion. With gem levels and quality you'll start reaching 80% more damage multiplier.
Leap Slam is your secondary mobility tool to traverse terrain and guarantee to land on a certain spot where
Stampede or
Shield Charge stop on contact. Holy Descent is also great for getting life regen and reduced cruse effectiveness when landing on a spot.
Shield Charge is used to quickly traverse large areas as its so fast.
Mace Strike I don't use mace strike at all as I have
Raise Shield on left click. My setup allows
Earthshatter to be extremely fast and using
Earthshatter is 100% of the time a better option then
Mace Strike .

Most Titan builds have similar skill trees, pathing down the middle line is just too efficient. We also grab any attack speed nodes in reach in order to smooth out our otherwise slow playstyle.
When able, grab
Giant's Blood and use a Shield to increase your tankiness. You can also invest into block at this point if you want.
How it Plays
How to use Earthshatter?
Earthshatter has two "hit" portions. The initial hit and the "explosion" of the spikes that get sent out. WIth Upheaval , three spikes get sent out.
Unlike POE 1, the spikes now deal incredible damage, featuring much higher damage scaling compared to the initial hit.
The spikes "center" on your cursor. Then two spikes will travel in opposite directions from the left and right of that "center" spike.
Mouse your cursor over the primary target - this will allow all THREE spikes to hit the target, massively increasing your damage. For general clearing you don't need to worry about this, but for bossing try to do this.
With that said - bossing.
How do we generate Rage?
With 51 max rage, we generate 11 Rage when hit. We can increase this with more passives on the tree but it doesn't seem needed to me. We also generate 1 rage on melee hit.
The 11 Rage when we are hit seems to have no internal cooldown to the trigger. I've seen me go from 0 - 51 rage in a second.
We take one point for 1 rage on hit (or you can get it on a Ruby gem!) just to smooth out rage generation between packs and movement.
We also use
Ancestral Warrior Totem +
Volcanic Fissure + Font of Rage for rage gen on bossing. Stay in the area of the totem and watch your Rage passively increase. This is also good to stop rage loss and maintain high rage.
Bossing strategy.
Swap
Scavenged Plating with
Overwhelming Presence - this is only for pinnacle bosses, everything else just use my normal auras.
Fighting a boss or tough rare is similar to normal playstyle but now you need
Hammer of the Gods as well as to wisely utilize the heavy stun window.
While casually fighting a boss, you want to make sure you keep up
Ancestral Warrior Totem
Volcanic Fissure Font of Rage for passive rage generation. Use
Earthshatter as your primary damage source, building up your enemy stun meter. You can use
Infernal Cry and
Seismic Cry as you please here.
Since we now use Splinter in our main damage setup, you don't have to worry about breaking armour, it'll happen naturally and quickly with this build.
Now, as you get that boss heavy stunned -
Seismic Cry immediately, Premeditation and Enraged Warcry will buff up
Hammer of the Gods nicely.
Since we have a max of 51 Rage, along with our rage generators -
Hammer of the Gods along with Rageforged and Enraged Warcry from
Seismic Cry - plus Exploit Weakness and you can position yourself father for Longshot (or closer with Close Combat) will provide massive damage.
Along with Aftershock chance - with
Seismic Cry providing a guaranteed at least one Aftershock,
Hammer of the Gods has a chance to hit THREE TIMES. Obviously this provides insane damage and can literally, one shot a lot of bosses. Have fun!
How it Works
Leveling Guide
Act 1
In any way you spin it leveling as melee is hard. Your early skills are just not that good.
Early on, use
Boneshatter to clear big packs.
Rolling Slam to generate stuns for your
Boneshatter and
Earthquake for your bigger single target damage.
As you get
Shockwave Totem - some bosses such as Draven and the other Graveyard Boss after become much easier just slowly using
Shockwave Totem in combination with
Earthquake. You would switch your support gems from
Rolling Slam to
Earthquake for bossing.
Speaking of Supports - Lacerate Brutality Fire Infusion are you big damage supports early. From there, get as you please Fist of War Aftershock and so on.
Act 1 Mace upgrade path
- Lvl 4 look for
Oak Greathammer from vendor - Lvl 11 loof for
Forge Maul from vendor
Perfect Strike when you get it is your huge bossing skill. You get this at lvl 15 when you get a lvl 5 skill gem after killing the Executioner boss.
Act 2
At the start of Act 2 buy a
Cultist Greathammer asap - when you hit lvl 22 and you can literally just
Mace Strike for clear now, using your supports on
Mace Strike and follow up with
Boneshatter while using
Perfect Strike for bossing.
Otherwise, your playstyle is pretty normal.
Perfect Strike for bossing still although I personally used
Earthshatter.
If you're able to do your ascendancy - I'd go for
Earthbreaker for more general damage.
When you get
Sunder I immediately used this until the 50s. Reason is because on a fresh character without the best gear, the range advantage form this skill is huge and general clear is amazing while leveling. You'll use
Sunder as
Cultist Greathammer damage falls off.
Act 2 Mace upgrade path
- At lvl 16 which you should be early in Act 2, grab a
Studded Greatclub - As said before, at lvl 22 buy a
Cultist Greathammer which will massively smooth out the playstyle - I'd keep using
Cultist Greathammer into the low 30s...then when I transition to
Sunder I'lll use a
Leaden Greathammer when I hit lvl 33.
Act 3

Changelog
Patch 0.3 -
General nerfs to Titan...when passive skill tree comes out and passive updates I'll address this build.
Giant's Blood is a pretty big nerf. Knew they would address Giant's Blood but wish they buffed regular 2handers instead.
Passive tree won't be out till release and same for skill gems as from what I understand. I did just have a newborn son so don't have much time.
