Build Overview

The Icebringer is a character that combines good clear speed, very decent tankiness due to very high block chance and very strong single target damage.

We use Herald of Ice together with Polcirkeln which combined with Anvil's Weight allows us to chain explode enemies for a very good clear speed. Apart from the fact that your main movement ability is not as fast, Leap Slam, the clear speed is comparable to Lightning Spear builds.

For tankiness, we maximize our block and use Svalinn on weapon set I for massive 88% block chance, this combo is even stronger because of Turtle Charm. Additionally we stack strength whenever we can, giving us solid life pool of around 3.5k, which can be pushed to 4k with very good gear

When it comes to single target damage, we use Nebuloch to have a guaranteed critical hit on Shield Charge. At this point we stack critical damage multiplier to reach absolutely devastating single target damage, possibly one shotting maximum difficulty pinnacle bosses.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • - Very good clear
    - Very solid tankiness due to block and strength stacking
    - Insane single target damage
  • - 40% chance to generate endurance charge on Armour Breaker, you can get unlucky
    - Herald of Ice will drop your fps big time

*IMPORTANT* Keep in mind to get some accuracy on your ring or amulet (preferably 300 or more). If you can't do that, you will have to annoint Unexpected Finesse *IMPORTANT*

1. Weapon - On weapon set I you want to get as much physical damage as possible and that's really it. Herald of Ice uses physical damage of your weapon, the more you have the better the clear. You can also get +to melee skills as a bonus, you will be doing more damage with leap slam against leftover rare monsters. On weapon set II we use Nebuloch.

2. Shield - On weapon set I we use Svalinn, amazing shield that provide us effective 88% block chance. On weapon set II we want to use a shield with as much armour as possible, that will increase our shield charge damage. Try to avoid capping your resistance with a shield, Svalinn doesn't have any resistances so while swapping between sets you will be left in an awkward spot.

3. Body armour - Ornate Plate with armour, life and resistances, you could also use Morior Invictus with resistances, life and all stats, not a bad choice

4. Gloves - + to melee skills is pretty nice here, other than that i recommend life, strength and resistances

5. Boots - life, strength and resistances while trying to get as much movement speed as possible. We Leap Slam all the time though, so movement speed is not as important. It's way more important if you want to use other mobility skills, like Stampede

6. Belt - Strength, life, resistances

7. Helmet - The Deepest Tower for massive damage boost

8. Rings - Polcirkeln to enable Herald of Ice, second ring with life, strength and resistances. Keep in mind accuracy

9. Amulet - + to melee skills, all attributes and life (preferably %) are the most important stats here. Other good stats would be critical damage, resistances and keep in mind accuracy.

*IMPORTANT* As for leveling, if you struggle with leveling warrior i strongly recommend to watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shIoNcOlZhg&t=1361s
It is for Smith of Kitava, but all the principles are going to be the same, you are basically supposed to use leap slam and boneshatter while leveling, after level 75 or 80 you can swap. Of course ignore that section if you are comfortable with leveling *IMPORTANT*

From Nothing with unwavering stance to allocate low life nodes, Finality and Hale Heart

Megalomaniac with useful stats, i use the one with Throatseeker for more crit damage but there are tons of great options

On higher budget you can get Prism of Belief with +3 to Shield Charge. +2 is also going to be worth it

How it Plays

Leap Slam around, turning entire screens into fps dropping ice shards, very smooth to play.

The only part that contains any clunkiness is that you should use Armour Breaker ir order to generate endurance charges, and you only have 40% chance to get them on fully breaking armour of your enemies. Thankfully you can just Leap Slam on the boss to consume their fully broken armour and try again, and that is not even needed at all against regular map bosses, they should die in 1 hit without the crit.

How it Works

For clearing maps, Leap Slam with cold infusion does cold damage, which makes enemies chilled. Polcirkeln make them shatter as though frozen. Armour Explosion with Anvil's Weight chains the explosion until there are no monsters left to chain from.

For tankiness, Svalinn has a 'block chance is lucky' modifier, which makes it roll your chance to block twice before you actually get hit. With 65% block chance you effectively will have 88% block chance thanks to that modifier. Turtle Charm will allow you to block all hits, including aoe hits and boss abilities, giving us very powerful defensive layer.

For single target damage, we use Nebuloch. Spending an endurance charge will guarantee our next hit to be a crit with Shield Charge, so we only need to stack critical damage multiplier. In order to get endurance charges, we use Armour Breaker with Break Endurance, giving us 40% chance to get an endurance charge on hit. If we fully break armour but don't get the endurance charge, simply Leap Slam or Shield Charge on the boss to consume fully broken armour and try again
