General Considerations
- Make sure you always obtain 75% Cold/Lightning/Fire Resistance, as this will significantly increase your survivability. Sacrificing some damage for survivability is smart in the long run, as every second spent dead is a second you don't spend dealing damage.
- Chaos Resistance is the least important one but it's nice to have at least 30%+
- Make sure you get enough + Intelligence and + Dexterity on your gear to fulfill Skill/Item requirements
- If possible, try to get to 100% chance to Deflect as that will make you have 40% Damage Reduction permanently.
- Use
Greater Storm Rune,
Greater Desert Rune and
Greater Glacial Rune on Gloves and Boots to help cap your Resistances; if needed, they can also go on your Helm, but your Chest really wants
Greater Iron Rune. - Use
Greater Vision Rune on your Bow. - You want around 100% Rarity to farm well.
Weapon
The main priority with your Bow is getting as much Damage as possible, which mainly comes from the Prefixes. There are many ways to build a high DPS Bow on an Amazon, so don't feel locked into finding a pure Physical bow. You can always export your build into Path of Building and compare how different Bows impact your DPS.
Early on, the stat priority for Prefixes is:
- Accuracy
- % Physical Damage
- + Physical Damage
- + Added Lightning Damage
- % Increased Elemental Damage with Attacks
- % Physical Damage + Accuracy
- + Added Cold Damage
- + Added Fire Damage
Suffixes are harder to rank, as they depend on your overall level of character progression. For example, % to Critical Chance is almost always a very important affix, but it's theoretically possible to have so much Critical Hit Chance that it becomes redundant and it doesn't become useful until you have enough Critical Chance and Critical Damage on your Tree to make use of it.
Early on, the Suffix priority is:
- Additional Arrows
- Projectile Skill Level
- Attack Speed
- Dexterity
- Reduced Attribute Requirements
What I do is use this search and input the bows into my Path of Building to check which one is better. Make sure to set the price point you want that one by default is 1 Divine.
Quiver
% Increased Damage and also % Projectile Speed, if you have the
Feathered Fletching, is stronger than Added Damage on Prefixes. I would only pick up
Feathered Fletching for a great
Volant Quiver and a high % Projectile Speed roll. As for Suffixes, the usual suspects are good: Projectile Skill Level and Attack Speed.
Rings
The main thing you want early is Added Damage, preferably Lightning and Physical, and % Lightning Damage. In terms of Suffixes, Resistances and Attributes are very useful.
Chest
Your Chest should have as much Evasion as possible. Getting a high Spirit roll is useful, but it usually means sacrificing too much defense early on. Getting a % Evasion to Deflect suffix will be very important in the next league; otherwise, you want Resistances or Attributes.
Helm
Early on, a Hybrid Evasion/ES or pure Evasion Helm is what you want, as it will have access to the % Evasion to Deflect suffix, while the pure ES one will not. You also won't have enough Energy Shield % on your tree to scale it.
Belt
Your Belt early on is purely a source of Maximum Life and Resistances. Later on, we will use Unique Belts.
Gloves
On our Gloves we want as much Added Damage as possible for our Prefixes. In terms of Suffixes, we want Attack Speed, Resistances and % Evasion to Deflect and Attributes in roughly that order.
Boots
Movement Speed is by far the most important stat on your Boots, but it's not worth sacrificing capping your Resistances for +5%. Other than that, you want a combination of Maximum Life and Evasion. Remember to try to get the % Evasion to Deflect suffix if possible.
Amulet
Your Amulet is a great source of Evasion, Maximum Life and Spirit. Early on, the best Suffixes are Projectile Skill Level, Attributes and Resistances.
Annointment
The best budget annoint early on is
Bestial Rage.
Skill Gems
Support Gem Requirements:
Str 30
Dex 85
Int 40
Bow Shot
Lightning Arrow
Lightning Rod
Tornado Shot
Barrage
Herald of Thunder
Tame Beast
Wind Dancer
Stormcaller Arrow
Support Gems are in order of priority.
For Bossing, replace Fork with Chain on
Lightning Arrow. I recommend you keep
Bow Shot with Chain right above
Lightning Arrow for the easy swap.
In terms of
Tame Beast, we will want to find a Boar with Haste Aura on it. The easiest way to do that is to get to the Troubled Camp in Infested Barrens and Respawn at Checkpoint until you find it. Do not kill the Rare Boar that spawns until you find one with Haste Aura or it will stop respawning and you will have to create a new instance.
If you get gear with a total of 50 extra Spirit we can add
Herald of Ash with Swift Affliction, Magnified Effect and Primal Armament.
To use your same Bow and Quiver for both weapon swaps you have to right click on top of your items as shown HERE. Your
Stormcaller Arrow setup should look like THIS. (Green Nodes are Weapon Set 2, Pink Nodes are Weapon Set 1).
We do this weapon swap because we get enough Shock Magnitude nodes to apply 100% Shock with
Stormcaller Arrow.
Passive Tree
Ascendancy Priority
Critical Strike for more Crit
Penetrate because it's absolutely busted early with
Greater Vision Rune and Accuracy.
Mystic Harvest to become a raid boss.
Predatory Instinct for more damage.
Jewels
Jewels are a very important part of build maximization; these are roughly the stats we want alongside
Prefixes:
- Damage
- Evasion
- Magnitude of Ailment
- Magnitude of Shock
Suffixes:
- Attack Speed
- Movement Speed
- Mana on Kill (usually want 1)
Atlas Tree
First, we will grab
Constant Crossroads to help sustain our Map pool. Later, we will go for Pack Size and Shrine buffs to increase our Experience gain.
This is the way to get to T15 as fast as possible.
How it Plays
When killing Bosses, we spam
Lightning Rod until we get 20 down. Once that setup is done, we want to cast
Tornado Shot until we get some that land where the Boss will spawn. We then cast
Stormcaller Arrow until we apply Shock. Lastly, we will use
Barrage +
Lightning Arrow and spam
Lightning Arrow until our
Lightning Rods are consumed or the Boss moves. We should always try to line up
Lightning Arrow with the
Tornado Shot and the Boss for maximum effect.
While clearing, we mostly just spam
Lightning Arrow with the odd
Lightning Rod here and there on Rares.
How it Works
When do we Transition to Hybrid ES/Evasion (T15+)?
- We swap at around 1.5k+ Energy Shield +
Essentia Sanguis
When do we Transition to Chaos Inoculation (Endgame)?
- We swap to
Chaos Inoculation when we have ~3.5k+ Energy Shield. - When you go
Chaos Inoculation make sure to grab the Stun and Ailment Threshold node besides it to make your
Rhoa Mount unstunnable.
When do we Transition into Speedfarm?
- We need a
Constricting Command and very good gear because the build is a lot squishier. - Ideally, you would want to maintain 3k+ ES with it.
How do we Solve Mana Issues?
- 2% Mana on Kill on a Jewel or Mana Leech +
Walker of the Wilds
How do we Set Weapon Set Swaps?
- Everything should be on Weapon Set 1 Only, except for
Stormcaller Arrow, which should be on Weapon Set 2.
