Build Overview
NEW in 0.3 - Support gems now being usable multiple times allows you to play many different kinds of minions, and buffing their damage significantly through Muster and Gigantism (passive). Elemental Weakness now debuffs all resistances, and minions can break armor from passives - you really just play any minion and it's great! Minions received a nerf in AoE damage, but the Infernal Hound had its radius increased by 67% (this is 180% MORE area), covering that new weakness.
Life and armor may not be best in late endgame, but should be the best to play until then.
While levelling, get enough Int and Dex to be able to use your gems, and the rest in Str for extra health. Don't be afraid to respec these stat nodes if your gear changes to meet new requirements
Strengths and Weaknesses
- Very strong starter build
- Major buffs in 0.3
- You can play/main any minion you want
- Chill playstyle
- Life version needs Prism Guardian to REALLY shine in endgame
Build Variants
Default
Energy Shield
You can go the full ES route, but it may not be better to map with. The best endgame shield is Prism Guardian as it will grant a huge Spirit value if life stacking. Fireflower is an amazing amulet option for this build.

Default
Energy Shield
Equipment Priority
Focus' can obtain +2 minion skills through the Abyss modifiers. This makes them an attractive option, but know that dropping your shield will substantially lower your survivability and mobility
