Here's my guide for my Hollow Palm Invoker League Starter and Endgame Build for patch 0.3 The Third Edict!

In Patch 0.3 we received the new Keystone Hollow Palm Technique which turns our Monk into an Unarmed MMA Fighter. It grants 1% More Attack Speed for every 25 Evasion on Armor and 0.1% to Critical Hit Chance for every 10 Energy Shield. This allows us to stack tons of Attack Speed and have a 100% Chance to Critically Hit!!!

We use Ice Strike combined with Shattering Palm and Herald of Ice to shatter huge packs of enemies for amazing clear speed. Elemental Expression got a buff in 0.3 and now has decent enough damage for us to use to Freeze and Blind all targets around us by using Nova Projectiles. This helps us lock everything down and prevent us from being hit thanks to Blind.

Our Single Target DPS is taken care of by Falling Thunder which also received some buffs in 0.3. We generate Combo by using Culmination II which gives 3% More Damage per Combo, combine this with 7 Power Charges and Falling Thunder ONE SHOTS T4 / Uber Pinnacle Bosses like its nothing. We can mix in Mantra of Destruction for Extra Chaos Damage and Empowering our Attacks.

We use Double Heralds and Elemental Conflux thanks to Lead me through Grace... allowing us to get over 200 Spirit. We use Herald of Ash and Herald of Ice to clear massive packs of enemies. Elemental Conflux will provide a rotating Lightning, Cold, and Fire Buff.

We use Wind Dancer and Ghost Dance to stack tons of Evasion and Energy Shield Recovery on Hit. Currently we have 4K ES, 1.5K Life, 83% Evasion, and 60% Deflect. We also recover over 2K ES on hit thanks to Ghost Dance so we almost never die (Abyss is broken sometimes lol).

No Unique Items are required but I will throw a couple out there as suggestions just in case you come across them while leveling or purchase them off the market.

    • +30% increased Charm Charges

This Variant will be using Ice Strike + Herald of Ice + Shattering Palm for Huge AOE clear. We use Elemental Expression to apply Freeze Buildup and Blind which decreases Enemy Accuracy and increases our Critical Hit Chance with nodes like Distracted Target.

We One Shot Pinnacle Bosses using Falling Thunder and Combo Buildup. We generate Combo using Culmination II on both Falling Thunder and Hand of Chayula. We build around 100-150 Combo, use Hand of Chayula combined with the new Lineage Support Gem Ailith's Chimes (Currency Exchange/Random Drop) to expend that Combo and gain 7 Power Charges. We then still have Combo left over on Falling Thunder since it has its own Culmination II support and use it right at the bosses feet for a Uber Juiced Slam to One Shot. You can empower yourself with Mantra of Destruction if you have a Unset Ring as well.

We use Herald of Ash, Herald of Ice, and Elemental Conflux as this juices our clear speed and damage to the max. You can sub out Elemental Conflux for Trinity or Charge Regulation if you want More Elemental Damage or easier Critical Hit Chance Cap.

We'll stack EV and ES and use Wind Dancer + Ghost Dance for survivability. Walker of the Wilds will completely sustain our Mana as long as we have Mana Leech on 1 piece of gear.

Hollow Palm Technique will scale our Attack Speed and Critical Hit Chance to INSANE heights and allow us to Crit Cap a lot of our skills.

Body Armor:

You'll want an ES/EV Hybrid Base with around 1380 EV and 408 ES if you want 220 Spirit for all run Elemental Conflux.

Alternately you can get Increased Spirit Reservation Efficiency of Skills which will allow you to have a Lesser EV/ES Body Armor. This makes your Spirit Gems and Support Gems cost Less Spirit which requires less EV/ES from the Body Armor.

You can Craft this on a Body Armor using Desecration from the new Abyss drops and this Spirit Reservation line is an Amanamu Modifier. If you don't understand what this means, go watch a YouTube video about it so you can craft. I will make a video on it soon.

Our Spirit comes from Lead me through Grace... Ascendancy Node and you should have 100 Base Spirit from the Campaign. If you have a fat Body Armor and still seem to be lacking Spirit, this could be why.

Try to get Gain Deflection Rating as it'll greatly increase your Deflection Chance. Deflection is a chance to have 40% Damage Reduction when hit. This is great for increasing our Hit pool.

Gloves:

An EV/ES, EV, or ES pair of Gloves will work. Go for Flat Damage, +2 Level of Melee Skill, Maximum Life, Attack Speed, Attributes (STR, INT, DEX, and any Resistances that you can get.

Thunderfist have been tested and have minimal results compared to a cheap pair of Rare Gloves. Until they receive a buff, they are NOT worth it for the price (8 Divine).

Helmet:

Go ES Helmet since we use Subterfuge Mask. Go for High Energy Shield (350-450+), Critical Hit Chance, Resistances, Attributes, and Energy Shield Recharge Rate.

Since Subterfuge Mask gives +2 Evasion Per 1 Energy Shield on your Helmet, a 400 ES Helmet also has 800 Evasion Rating making this node AMAZING!

Boots:

An EV/ES, EV, or ES pair of Boots will work. Go for Gain Deflection, 30-35% Movement Speed, Maximum Life, Attributes (STR, INT, DEX), and any Resistances that you can get.

Belt:

I use the new Darkness Enthroned with 100% Increased Effect of Sockets and pick the one that allows it to be Socketed as Gloves. This allows me to put 2 Talisman of Sirrius which gives me 32% Increased Attack Speed for HUGE DPS and Combo Buildup.

A Budget version would be Ingenuity as it would make our Rings have More Damage, Res, Attributes, ETC...

A Uber Expensive Mapping Belt would be Headhunter so we can steal Modifiers from Rare's including the new Abyssal Modifiers which makes you super strong.

Amulet:

Any Amulet early on works but I would prefer either Stellar Amulet, Jade Amulet, or Lapis Amulet. Go for Increased Evasion Rating, Increased Global Defenses, Increased Maximum Energy Shield, Level of Melee Skill, Critical Hit Chance, and any needed Resistances and Attributes.

Anoint with Stormcharged for the Elemental Damage and Critical Hit Chance Increases!

Rings:

Getting Flat Damage of any type to increase Hollow Palm Technique DPS. Prioritize Flat Cold Damage, Lightning Damage, and Physical Damage. % Increased is fine but not optimal. Otherwise fill out any needed Resistances and Attributes or Leech Mana.

Jewels:

I use the brand new Heart of the Well which can give Gain Extra Damage as Cold, Fire, Lightning, or Chaos for HUGE Damage. Expect to spend BIG for a two line Gain Extra Damage but it makes and insane boost.

The second Jewel I use is a Megalomaniac with an Offensive and Defensive Notable.

I like Defensive Nodes such as Pocket Sand, The Wild Cat, Afterimage, Inner Faith, Patient Barrier, Chakra of Breathing, and Storm Driven.

I like Offensive Nodes such as Stormcharged, Harness the Elements, Stormbreaker, Overwhelming Strike, Sundering, Deadly Flourish, Reaching Strike, and Rapid Strike.

These are just a few but I wanted to give examples as you don't have to have the same Notables as me. There are better options out there!

You'll use Ice Strike + Shattering Palm + Herald of Ice for clear speed and use Falling Thunder and Hand of Chayula for Combo Stacking to do huge damage.

Hand of Chayula will apply Sniper's Mark and consume Combo to generate Power Charges using Ailith's Chimes. These charges fuel Falling Thunder which is also boosted by Combo granted by Culmination II. See YT Video for full Explanation.

Ghost Dance and Wind Dancer are here to boost your Defense which includes Evasion, Energy Shield Recovery, and Deflection.

Elemental Conflux will provide a HUGE rotating Damage Buff to Fire, Cold, and Lightning Damage which massively juices our DPS. Use this if you have the Spirit, otherwise stick with Herald of Thunder.

Elemental Expression is going to apply Cold Nova, Lightning Explosions, and Fire Explosions around us that Blind and is amazing for clear speed. TRY THIS OUT OR WATCH VIDEO!

We focus on Nodes to generate more Combo like Chakra of Rhythm and Chakra of Impact to help us build that Combo fast. We stack Critical Hit Chance and Damage Bonus using nodes such as Struck Through, Deadly Force, and Moment of Truth.

We need as many Power Charges for Falling Thunder so we need The Power Within, Overflowing Power, and Lust for Power to get our charges up.

Stack ES, EV, and Deflection using Subterfuge Mask, Beastial Skin, Enhanced Reflexes, The Wild Cat, and Mindful Awareness so we have a sufficient Hit Pool when mapping.

Build Blind using Blinding Strike and Distracted Target to increase our DPS and help cap our Critical Hit Chance out. This will also increase our Evasion Rating and Accuracy against Blinded Targets.

Lead me through Grace... will allow us to get tons of Spirit to fuel our Spirit Gems, Sunder my Enemies... will allow us to Penetrate Elemental Resistances on Crit, Elemental Expression is great for extra clear and blind, I am the Blizzard... for More Cold Damage.
