Build Overview and Variants

No Decorations No Endgame Pieces
HR10-41+ Progression Set

This set is designed to be built during the High Rank Campaign to set you up for success throughout it while giving you the power and value you need from your gear to start farming endgame decorations, gear and your Artian weapon. Builds that require specific decorations are next to useless for someone looking to ease their way into farming endgame investigations, this build is designed to bridge that gap for you.

How To Play

Gear Choices

The Hard Bone Strongarm might not have white sharpness, but it does have Load Shells 2/2, something you want at every stage of your Charge Blade Progression for it's vital improvement to our Phial Charging Capability. The Raw attack is high, and Attack Boost 2/5 is a simple unconditional increase to our damage. Overall a fantastic weapon to use while you get your ideal Chrono Gear and decorations. Use whatever Decorations you have on hand, but an Attack Jewel III will be particularly powerful getting you to 5/5 Attack Boost if you happen to get one.

G. Ebony Helm α Is a great value early HR piece giving us 2/5 Burst for some great raw attack, and a level of Earplugs a utility everyone loves.

Blango Mail α Like the helmet is a great value piece needing no decorations to grant us 2/5 Agitator providing us with increased attack and affinity, and 2/3 Item Prolonger a great utility benefit especially when you likely don't have a lot of spare Mega Demondrug farmed up yet. This piece can also become part of your "Eating" set to get more value out of your consumables later on.

G. Ebony Braces α available in early HR, gets us up to 4/5 Burst and a level of Divine Blessing which is a great defensive passive. It also activates Burst Boost I giving us 3 extra attack while Burst is active.(always)

Blango Coil α Gets us 4/5 Agitator and a level of Wide-Range, this utility isn't something we are super excited about but some team item usage isn't something we'll complain about when we're building a set using no decorations. It also provides a level 1 decoration socket for Shockproof Jewel when playing in groups. We also get Blangonga's Spirit giving us War Cry I using this emote gives you and nearby allies +3 attack.

Udra Miregreaves α give us 5/5 Burst which is one of it's best breakpoints for +18 total raw attack, and 2/3 Windproof which is another unexciting utility, but it's better then nothing. We also do have a lvl3 socket to spend here on whatever your best decoration happens to be.

Challenger Charm I finishes Agitator 5/5 and is realistic to build before endgame HR compared to making level 2 charms.

Consumables

The best meal for damage is Meat + Airy Eggs + Wild Seed Oil
Meat gives +2 Attack, Airy Eggs gives Attack Up L at random intervals and Wild Seed Oil improves our Paralysis Build up.

Make regular usage of Mega Demondrug and Mega Armorskin, which grants you +25 Attack and Defense for 30 minutes.

Carry Paralysis and Pitfall traps as well as a tranquilizer consumable to utilize when you hear the call out informing you the monster is getting weak or when you see a skull icon on the monster on the minimap indicating it can be captured ending the hunt quicker then slaying it.

Rotation & Combat Flow

When playing for Savage Axe after charging your shield you absolutely want to overcharge your phials as that overcharge damage is going to be utilized for the next several minutes. Next we need to get into Savage Axe Mode, if at any point during the building phase you perfect guard and enter it through a counter attack that's great, but if that hasn't happened by the time you have overcharged phials and a shield infusion, you're either going to fish for a perfect guard to counter off, Look to perform a mount on the monster assuming it's off cooldown, or attempt to cause a wound so you can Double Rend to enter Savage Axe. The act of actually getting into Savage Axe can vary in the amount of time required, If you're sitting on overcharged phials for an awkwardly long period of time, attempting to cause a wound to rend with elemental discharges or SAEDs can be a good way to fill the gap. Wounds get harder to cause the longer the fight goes on, So you'll want to practice your perfect guard timing as a reliable method with no diminishing returns.

Once you get into Savage Axe Mode, You'll want to spend as much time as possible shredding with Held elemental discharge 1 and 2, after your second discharge you can either continue the combo with a Standard Attack in Axe Mode which you can also choose to hold down then loop back to discharges, or if you have the opening begin spending your phials half of one at a time by activating AEDs after your discharge 2 with a further held heavy attack as well as the proceeding follow-up, as these will deal extremely high damage in exchange for that half a phial. Axe mode in general I find much more user friendly when played almost entirely in focus mode, as the attacks are quite slow and are typically better when aimed manually.

Stay Mobile with your Sword Mode Focus attack and Heavy Attack Dash, Don't over commit with your axe and try to read the situation for when you need to go on the defensive with Sword Mode before it's to late.
