Changes in TU4
-
Bethorned Agony (Gogma artian) is the new weapon of choice for all plastyles except Spread, where we still use
Rebel Stopper.
- Pierce and Normal ammo have been buffed and are decent counterparts to Spread. Elemental Ammo remains the strongest ammo type.
Offensive Skill choices
Weakness Exploit and
Agitator are universal best-in-class offensive skills, and most sets will try to max them out first. Weakness Exploit can be changed to other options when reaching the affinity cap.
Maximum Might is an excellent Skill, but requires you not to use any stamina to stay active. If you find yourself dodging or blocking often, or your weapon drains stamina (like Bow, DB), you might want to switch to another skill or use
Second Wind I (Anjanath set bonus) to keep it active more often.
Counterstrike requires you to either block or receive an attack to activate (certain parry moves can also activate it). It is worth investing 3 points into this Skill if your weapon excels at activating it. Becomes less useful in multiplayer.
Latent Power can be activated by taking 130HP worth of damage, or after 2 minutes have passed during a fight. Worth using if you're occasionally getting hit, and is further boosted by Rey Dau armor (
Thunderous Roar II).
Weapon choices
Bethorned Agony (Gogma Artian) is the preferred weapon due to the better stats and group skills it offers.
To maximize DPS, craft one Bethorned Agony of each element, swapping the
Blaze/Bandolier Jwl for the correspondent Elem Attack/Bandolier jewel.
For the artian augments: you ideally want to get:
- Base parts: x3 Attack of the preferred ailment.
- Tarred Device: Element Focus
- Skills:
Gore Magala's Tyranny + Any - Augments: 3x Attack, 2x Capacity
Use the following Bowgun mods:
- Elemental Ammo Powder
- Special Ammo Capacity
Armor Set Considerations
- Use Challenger III charm if available, or a charm with
Opening Shot /
Rapid Fire Up.
