All Major Changes Coming to League from Patch 26.20

In a recent League of Legends Dev Update, Riot outlined what would be happening in Act 2 of League of Legends. This is live in patch 26.20, and we will expect to see many changes coming to the game very soon!

Act 2 has a musical theme, so expect more changes and announcements soon, including new music and more! Other changes include “team voice”, which is Riot's take on live comms, ARAM Mayhem Updates, Ranked 5s and changes to Classic!

Team Voice

Riot is introducing Team Voice to League of Legends, letting players speak to their allies in-game. They have acknowledged that voice comms can increase your chances of winning, but they also know the drawbacks. That is why they’ve built safety features into the communication service to better protect users.

To use Team Voice, players must have at least level 3 honour. If you’re not Honour 3, you can still listen in, but cannot communicate.

Expect this to hit NA and Oceania in patch 26.20, then moving to other servers after successful testing.

Classic Changes

Riot has already released many Classic updates, so they’ve repeated themselves a lot here. Basically, they have made the game mode less grindy so you can get Runes and champions faster.

They are also releasing 5 new champions in the next patch for LoL Classic: Fiora, Xin Zhao, Poppy, Shyvana and Galio. Graves and some other champions will be coming soon!

ARAM Mayhem

ARAM Mayhem is getting another update. This time, it is following the music theme. As you spawn in, there will be different bands playing. This includes old bands we have heard before, and new ones such as “the bees” and “cafe cuties”.

There will also be in-game missions that give you additional rewards, and expect to see plenty of new Augments as well.

Ranked 5s

Ranked 5s will be receiving another run; however, this time with many quality-of-life changes. There will be a new drafting phase so players can make better strategic decisions. You will be able to see the enemy team's names and the champions they play the most, so you can optimise your bans.

Because Ranked 5s was pretty successful before, they have extended the opening hours. It now starts earlier on Fridays and finishes later on Sundays, so you have more time to play with your friends.
