Yae Miko Build Guide

Character Profile

After a very long time away from the spotlight, Yae Miko has finally become a powerful unit with a unique place in the meta. Through her Witch’s Revelation buffs, she takes the role of a presently core part of Stellar-Conduct teams, being far and away the strongest second slot in Sandrone teams and any other Stellar-Conduct team. Massively increased personal damage thanks to her various buffs, alongside her currently free and very powerful C1 through the “Temper Thyself and Journey Far” event, she currently stands near irreplaceable in this new archetype.

Snezhnaya is going to be focusing on Stellar Reactions for the foreseeable future, so Yae Miko is only likely to get stronger. New units and options could close the gap between her and other options for Sandrone or other Stellar-Conduct carries, but she will remain an excellent unit. Keep in mind that her value outside of Stellar-Conduct teams is very low, especially after the Hexerei buffs have made units like Fischl much stronger than her in non-Stellar teams. Several of Yae Miko's buffs are active for non-Stellar and Stellar teams alike, including her increased turret duration, but they're not enough to make her significantly better than presently.

Best Teams

Overview

Yae Miko is approximately a 40% team damage increase over other Electro slots in Stellar-Conduct teams, assuming she has activated her C1. Without her C1, she's about a 20% team damage increase instead.

Sandrone Stellar-Conduct

Sandrone - Yae Miko - Cryo flex (example: Qiqi) - General flex (example: Escoffier)

  • Cryo flex slot: A second Cryo slot will generally always be recommended in order to access Cryo Resonance. Escoffier’s Cryo RES Shred is valuable for Sandrone, although she doesn’t buff Yae Miko. Qiqi’s teamwide Stellar-Conduct DMG% buff applies to both Sandrone and Yae Miko, making her a strong option. Diona is a decent but harder to use alternative.
  • General flex slot: Options include any of the other Cryo options, Xilonen, Nicole, Sucrose or Beidou. All of them are roughly as good as each other, with some minor variance; Beidou and Diona tend to be the least good. Yae Miko’s personal damage is highest with Beidou but Xilonen and Nicole are excellent buffing options for her too.

Example Rotation:

  1. Yae Miko Skill x3
  2. Escoffier Skill Low-Temperature Cooking
  3. Qiqi Skill Adeptus Art: Herald of Frost
  4. Sandrone on-combo:
    1. [hold Charged Attack + use Elemental Skill] x3 + use Elemental Burst

Other Stellar-Conduct carries:

  • Wriothesley: Because Sandrone is the only unit presently able to activate Stellar-Conduct, Wriothesley is forced to use Sandrone in his teams to activate his Witch’s Revelation buffs. Yae Miko remains as big of an increase in these teams as in Sandrone teams.

Example Rotation:

  1. Nicole Skill Revelation: Uncreated Light
  2. Yae Miko Skill x3
  3. Wriothesley on-field combo
  4. Sandrone Charged Attack (if Wriothesley is C0, necessary to fill in downtime)
  • Cyno: Similar to the above, although Yae Miko is arguably even more valuable thanks to Cyno’s longer rotations allowing Yae Miko to more reliably trigger more of her Sesshou Sakura turret attacks.

Example Rotation:

  1. Yae Miko Skill x3
  2. Qiqi Skill
  3. Cyno on-field combo

Non Stellar-Conduct teams:

Yae Miko is a subpar but occasionally usable option in Chevreuse teams, taking the place of Fischl. With the advent of Hexerei buffs and the dominance of Nicole and Durin on Overload teams, it is unlikely she will ever outshine Fischl here. She is also usable in some Quicken teams, which are themselves generally not very powerful. It is worth noting that Yae Miko’s Constellation 2 buffed state is not conditional to being in Radiance: Stellar-Conduct, so she can be a usable option for EM scaling on-fielders like Nefer.

Best Weapons

This section will be focused around Weapons for Stellar-Conduct Yae Miko.

BiS Option: Kagura's Verity

Yae Miko’s signature weapon and by far best option for her personal damage, although it doesn’t have team buffs. Updated to include Stellar-Conduct DMG% alongside regular DMG% at the same time as Miko's Witch's Revelation buffs, it comes out to a roughly 30% upgrade over Widsith R1 (25% over Widsith R5). Because it’s only personal damage, it’s not necessarily a great vertical investment option for Sandrone teams and the likes.

Best Limited 5 star alternative: Reliquary of Truth

Nefer’s Signature is quite good on Yae Miko, offering a ton of Crit and some extra EM (though without full uptime). 15-20% over Widsith R1, a strong alternative if you don’t have Kagura’s Verity. Certainly not worth pulling in its above's stead if you don't have Nefer.

Other Limited 5 star options:

Broadly pretty good if the passive is usable. Examples include Cashflow Supervision and Vivid Notions. A weapon like A Thousand Miles in a Day is also quite decent, being comparable for her personal damage to Skyward Atlas while giving a small team buff.

Standard 5 star options:

Skyward Atlas

About 10% better than R1 The Widsith, though you you might want an Elemental Mastery mainstat to go alongside Skyward Atlas. The ATK% is very nice in current Stellar-Conduct teams, as they don’t have much ATK buffing outside of Nicole and Tenacity of the Milelith. Definitely try to use an EM Mainstat if you're using this weapon and Nicole together.

Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds

The standard Crit Rate option is a little bit better than the Widsith R5 and without the annoying RNG The Widsith can have. Skyward Atlas should be better in most scenarios due to how high Miko's Crit Rate already is in Stellar-Conduct teams.

Best 4 star options:

The Widsith: Yae Miko's best 4* option, and also happens to be relatively easily available. Crit secondary stat is great, and while the DMG% passive is not very strong for Yae Miko in Stellar-Conduct teams, both the ATK% and EM passives are very strong. This weapon's passive has very low uptime, so it's not as good as it could be.

Wandering Evenstar: A decent option higher refinements, though without vertical investment on the on-field Stellar-Conduct carry it will be worse than The Widsith.

Best Free option: Blackcliff Agate

Unfortunately the only half-decent ‘free’ option and a good bit worse than the Widsith. Note that it is exceedingly likely that the Craftable Catalyst released alongside 7.0 and Snzhnaya will be a strong free option for her, so don’t feel too pressured by a relative lack of options for now.

For non-SC teams, weapons remain largely similar. EM becomes less valuable and DMG% passives much stronger, although there aren’t a lot of them.

Best Artifacts & Stats

For Stellar-Conduct teams:

BiS option: Disenchantment in Deep Shadow

By far Yae Miko’s strongest 4-piece option, and the first one she is able to make great use of since her release. The stats it provides are exceptional for her. Considering Stellar-Conduct on-fielders will also look to use this set, it is highly recommended to farm for it.

Alternative options: Gilded Dreams, 2p2p (Elemental Mastery, ATK % ) combos

Gilded Dreams 4pc is slightly stronger than 2p2p combinations, but no by a lot. It does not provide that much more in terms of stats. Using 2p ATK% and 2p EM is marginally the best option, but it comes down to what substats are best on your account.

For non-SC teams:

Golden Troupe tends to be her best, with 2p2p and GD being competitive options if the substats are good enough.

Talent Priority

  1. Elemental Skill
    >>>>
  2. Elemental Burst
  3. Normal Attack

The only useful Talent for Yae Miko's damage in Stellar-Conduct teams is Elemental Skill, and even that does not represent most of her teams. The majority of Yae Miko's damage is found in her various passives rather than her Talents.

Constellations

C1Yakan Offering
C2Fox's Mooncall
C3The Seven Glamours
C4Sakura Channeling
C5Mischievous Teasing
C6Forbidden Art: Daisesshou

This section will go over the usefulness of her Constellations primarily as an off-fielder in Stellar-Conduct.

Constellation Details & Approximate DPS Increase

  • C1 Yakan Offering: Yae Miko’s Elemental Burst tends to be a damage loss to use at any investment level, even with the changes to it. This makes the energy refund appreciated but ultimately not useful. The 50%Electro DMG and Stellar-Conduct DMG Bonus is essentially permanent and unconditional in SC teams, making this a very powerful support Constellation, worth roughly 15% team DPS in current SC teams. This Constellation is currently free to pick up from the on-going “To Temper Thyself and Journey Far” event, making it an assumed part of Stellar-Conduct teams.
  • C2 Fox's Mooncall: The range can be nice QoL and the Sesshou Sakura DMG increase is decent, but it unfortunately only applies to her regular Electro hits. The 200 EM boost to herself and the on-fielder is very powerful, particularly without easy sources of external EM buffs being presently available for Stellar-Conduct teams. Worth roughly 15-16% team damage in said teams, though this can be a little devalued depending on the availability of EM or Stellar DMG Bonus buffs with future units or artifact sets. Nonetheless, a great support Constellation. Going from C0 Miko to C2 Miko will provide an over 30% team DPS upgrade, one of the strongest support Constellation jumps. Additionally, since the 200 EM buff is not conditional to Stellar-Conduct, Yae Miko can be used for Nefer or other EM scaling on-fielders as a decent buffing option.
  • C3 The Seven Glamours: Not very good. The talent level incrase only matters for her Electro hits, a minority of her damage.
  • C4 Sakura Channeling: Makes her Elemental Burst slightly less of a damage loss, but still a damage loss generally.
  • C5 Mischievous Teasing: Near negligible even if using her Burst. Doesn’t make said Burst more worth using.
  • C6 Forbidden Art: Daisesshou: A massive personal DPS increase of at least 50%. Miko's personal damage is very high in Stellar-Conduct teams but not a majority of a team's DPS. The 50% personal DPS increase translates to a much more tame team DPS increase, though the exact number will heavily depend on the teammates she’s used with and the investment level of the rest of the team. A strong Sub-DPS C6 overall.

How to Play

Overview

First, this section will explain the kit basics of Yae Miko that are present in both Stellar-Conduct and other teams post her Witch’s Revelation buffs, followed by an explanation of Stellar-Conduct and what it unlocks for her.

Yae Miko is an Electro off-field Sub-DPS and Support. To accomplish this, she is primarily reliant on her Elemental Skill, Sesshou Sakura. She generally does not want to use her Normal Attacks or Elemental Burst.

Elemental Skill & Details, Energy Generation

Yae Miko’s Elemental Skill has 3 casts, each of which has an individual cooldown of 4 seconds. When Yae Miko uses her Elemental Skill, she will spawn a Sesshou Sakura ‘turret’, with up to 3 being able to be present on the field at any given time. These turrets will attack targets periodically dealing Electro DMG, in intervals of just under 3 seconds. Each turret’s first shot will fire about 2 seconds after it’s placed down.

Each turret lasts for 24 seconds, which used to be 14 before her buffs. If all 3 turrets are placed in quick succession, they will fire consistently and quickly after each other. Each sequence of 3 hits in this succession will be called a ‘wave’.

If a Superconduct or Stellar-Conduct Reaction has been triggered, Yae Miko’s next turret strike will perform an extra hit of either Electro or Stellar-Conduct DMG. This extra hit has a cooldown of 2.5 seconds. If Yae Miko casts her Skill while all 3 Sesshou Sakura turrets are on the field, she will perform an additional hit of Electro or Stellar-Conduct damage.

Yae Miko will generate 1 Electro Particle on turret hit, on a 2.5 second cooldown. In an 18s rotation, she’ll generate about 6 Electro Particles.

Elemental Burst

Yae Miko’s Elemental Burst has a cost of 90 and is on a cooldown of 22 seconds. This is both the highest Burst cooldown in the game as well as the highest cost (which she thematically shares with Raiden Shogun ). On cast, it will perform an AoE Electro DMG hit, followed by an additional Electro DMG hit for each Sesshou Sakura present on the field. It will also reset the cooldown of Sesshou Sakura, but without refreshing their duration and no longer destroying them.

This Burst is generally not worth using. The animation time is too long for the damage it provides, even with the Energy refund from C1. It can be DPS neutral at C4.

Passives, Stellar-Conduct, and Witch's Revelation

Her Ascension 4 passive converts Elemental Mastery to regular DMG%; this will not affect her Stellar-Conduct DMG, but it does make be a damage boost for her Stellar-Conduct DMG and regular Electro DMG.

Stellar-Conduct is the modified version of the Superconduct Reaction, and is currently only accessible if Sandrone is in the party. Superconduct and Stellar-Conduct occurs when you apply Cryo on an Electro aura and vice versa. Stellar-Conduct being locked to Sandrone is likely to change in the future, but she is the only way to access it at the time of Patch 6.7 / Luna 8.

  • When a Stellar-Conduct Reaction is triggered, a ‘Polestar Field’ will open around the enemy that Stellar-Conduct happened on. This Polestar Field contains the mechanics of what makes Stellar-Conduct unique.
  • The Polestar Field lasts for 6 seconds and refreshes if Stellar-Conduct is triggered while it is active. It reduces the Physical RES of enemies within it by 40%, which is unimportant for teams of the archetype. It will record all Cryo and Electro applications within it at intervals of 4 seconds, and grant a buff that stacks accordingly with them at the end of each recording phase. This buff will give Electro and Cryo DMG% and will significantly buff Stellar-Conduct DMG dealt to enemies within it. For a more detailed explanation, refer to the Sandrone Guide.

While within a Polestar Field, Yae Miko will enter the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state. In this state, she will unlock the biggest of her buffs: the additional Sesshou Sakura hit from her Witch’s Revelation passive will now become a Stellar-Conduct hit, dealing significantly increased damage. Because this is on a 2.5 second cooldown, Yae Miko will typically perform one of these per each wave of her Sesshou Sakura attacks. Yae Miko will generally do 6 of these waves on 18 second rotations, and 7 on 20 second rotations. Between this and her A1, which also becomes Stellar-Conduct DMG while in the Radiance state, Yae Miko’s DMG will be majority Stellar-Conduct instead of Electro; roughly 65-70% Stellar-Conduct.

Additional Info

  • As mentioned, Yae Miko’s first Constellation is currently free to acquire if you have Yae Miko on your account. It’s an excellent support Constellation, and should absolutely be picked up if planning to use Yae Miko in a Stellar team.
  • As a rule of thumb: if the first hit of a wave begins, even if Yae Miko were to start re-casting her turrets, the rest of the wave will go off. Additionally, turrets don’t share cooldowns with re-cast turrets, making it so Yae Miko will get a relatively consistent amount of hits in a given timeframe and rotation, 6 waves and SC hits in an 18 second rotation and 7 waves and SC hits in a 20 second rotation.

Release Date

Yae Miko was officially released as a playable 5-star Electro character in Genshin Impact on February 16, 2022, during the Version 2.5 update.
