Character Profile

Linnea is the premier Lunar-Crystallize support and Sub-DPS of the Lunar patch cycle. She is a relatively flexible and powerful Geo option for both dedicated Moonsign teams with Zibai and non-Moonsign teams with other Geo characters. With her Elemental Skill, she’s able to provide consistent high off-field Geo application and damage or frontload a significant portion of it in a nuke attack. Performing the nuke attack lowers her off-field damage and application in exchange, making it a trade-off.

Linnea additionally has decent team-wide and good single-target healing with her Elemental Burst. She can shred the Geo RES of enemies in both Moonsign and non-Moonsign teams, albeit with reduced efficacy in the latter; she enables the Lunar-Crystallize Reaction for the team regardless. Linnea could be considered a premium support with any Geo carry, although she will shift the team’s damage towards her own rather than focusing on the Geo carry themselves when not in a Moonsign team.

Linnea typically will not want to use her Elemental Burst on every rotation, and will usually not be required to do so. Zibai has a very high DEF stat, reducing the damage she will take by quite a bit; other teams might be more vulnerable though. Linnea's DEF will buff either the on-fielder's or her own EM, making it a pretty strong stat, to the point of DEF% Circlet being a potential option for her. Crit will still be stronger than it on account of increasing Linnea's damage much more, but it won't be ahead by a significant amount.

Best Teams

Zibai Lunar Crystallize

Zibai - Columbina - Linnea - Illuga

  • Aino, Xingqiu and C1+ Nilou can replace Columbina in this team, but at a significant damage and quality of life downgrade. Columbina is just as important as any other unit in this team, arguably even more so.
  • Illuga can be replaced by Xilonen at C2, Ineffa or Gorou at C6. Using Ineffa will make the team a Lunar Crystallize and Lunar-Charged hybrid, though Linnea doesn't function in such quite as well as in a fully dedicated Lunar Crystallize team.

The team Linnea shines the most in thanks to making full use of her various buffs and in turn buffing her damage significantly. This is generally a very tanky team, so it’s unlikely you’ll want to use Linnea’s Burst every rotation. Linnea’s Tap Skill is generally preferred over the repeated-Tap nuke, though both are usable depending on the scenario.

Example Rotation

  1. Columbina Skill Eternal Tides (+ Burst Moonlit Melancholy)
  2. Linnea Skill or Burst
  3. Illuga Burst Shadowless Reflection + Skill Dawnbearing Songbird
  4. Zibai on-field combo

Non-Zibai Lunar Crystallize

Navia (or any other Geo on-fielder) - Linnea - Columbina - flex slot

  • The Geo on-fielder slot is fairly malleable. Navia is the best one thanks to her high Geo application and okay personal damage, including naturally building Crit to do more Lunar Crystallize damage.
  • As before, Columbina is easily the best Hydro slot here.
  • There are a few different flex slot options, the best of which tend to be either Furina or Illuga. Furina buffs the team’s non-Lunar damage by quite a bit, while the additional Hydro particles and Hydro Resonance are helpful for Bina. With Furina, Linnea will have to use her Burst every rotation, requiring a good amount of Energy Recharge. Illuga buffs both the team's Lunar and non-Lunar damage alike, although the latter much less so. Which slot is better depends on your investment into the on-fielder and the 2 choices.

This archetype functions as a ‘cheaper’ version of Zibai Lunar-Crystallize that can deal with certain Geo focused content without necessarily needing to use Zibai. Linnea takes front stage in this team, with her personal DMG gaining a much larger team DMG share.

Example Rotation

  1. Navia Burst As the Sunlit Sky's Singing Salute
  2. Columbina Skill (+ Burst)
  3. Furina Skill Salon Solitaire + Burst Let the People Rejoice
  4. Linnea Burst
  5. Navia on-field combo

Best Weapons

BiS Option: Golden Frostbound Oath

Linnea's Signature Weapon. By far her best option, it provides her with both the highest amount of personal damage she can get, as well as some team buffing. The buffing every Geo damage, not just Lunar Crystallize, making it a pretty versatile option. In Zibai Lunar Crystallize, it's not very far from Zibai's own signature weapon; can sometimes be an up to 10% team DPS upgrade.

Limited 5 star alternatives:

Generally, the more Crit the better. None of the 5-star options are particular standouts, but they’re all decent as long as they provide a good deal of Crit. Aqua Simulacra has a very high Crit DMG secondary stat, and it or other Bows with that amount of Crit Value will be the best.

Elegy for the End: the Energy tends to not be very useful, but the teamwide EM makes it an okay buffing option.

Best accessible option: Slingshot

A great option for her personal damage that is exceptionally easy to acquire. Linnea doesn’t care about the abysmally low Base ATK or the passive while making full use of the Crit it provides.

Other DEF or EM Bows are usable enough if they have a usable passive. Favonius Warbow is an option if the team desperately needs a lot of Energy, but will rarely ever be the best choice for Linnea. Her personal damage is important, and her Energy usually isn't. There are endgame scenarios where it can be strong though, such as for some strategies for the Gecko Boss in Stygian Onslaught.

Best Artifacts & Stats

BiS Option 1: Aubade of Morningstar and Moon

Linnea’s strongest personal damage option. Though she deals non-negligible Geo DMG, her Lunar Crystallize damage far outweighs it. It also buffs her contribution to the Lunar Crystallize reaction, though Columbina will usually be the second highest contributor in it.

BiS Option 2: Husk of Opulent Dreams

Not very far from Aubade in personal DMG while additionally being her best buffing option, particularly with Zibai. Arguably stronger than Aubade in Zibai teams, but spending resin in that domain is a foolish ask. Strongboxing it can be worth it, especially if you don't have anything else to farm the Aubade domain for.

Alternative: Silken Moon's Serenade

Linnea can hold it just fine if no one else in the team can for whatever reason. Ideally someone else like Illuga can hold it, as Linnea does a lot of damage. Typically, it is more worth it to use SMS on Linnea and Aubade on Columbina if the option to do that is forced.

2p2p combos: Some combination of DEF and EM can hold you over until you get a full Aubade or Husk set.

Talent Priority

  1. Elemental Skill
  2. Elemental Burst
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>
  3. Normal Attack

Elemental Skill contains all of Linnea's personal damage, and will certainly be worth leveling up for her teams. Her Elemental Burst talent only scales up her healing, which may or may not be useful. Her Normal Attack talent is more or less useless.

Constellations

C1Provisional Classification
C2Tidings of Joy and Sorrow
C3Eventful Log Page
C4Expert Instinct
C5Fairyland's Farewell Gift
C6Golden Beagle's Dream

Overview

Linnea has some of the strongest Support Constellations in the game, particularly in Zibai Lunar Crystallize teams. Her C0 → C2 jump tends to be stronger than the jump from C0 Zibai → C2 Zibai, which is quite rare for a premium team.

Constellation Details & Approximate Damage Increase

C1: The Lunar quills add a decent bit of extra damage to the team, and the additional damage for her nuke can be quite notable. Overall, a solid 8-10% team DPS increase. Better than her R1 in most situations. Generally still doesn't make her Nuke Skill worth using, but it does make it stronger.

C2: A massive team DPS increase of ~20%. Linnea's Lumi Nuke is still not preferred over her regular Tap Skill, but it is a bit stronger. Triggering additional Lunar Crystallize procs doesn't change the team's damage makeup at all, as each Moondrift damage instance will still scale on the stats of the contributors.

C3: It’s alright. Much less of Linnea's damage contribution comes from her Skill at this point, and Linnea is usually not a major damage source in the first place.

C4: Solid for Zibai, and gives her a good amount of extra nuke damage. Good for a C4.

C5: Negligible.

C6: 25% Elevation is very strong; Elevation is a separate multiplier to the rest of the damage formula, meaning this provides 25% more Lunar damage (assuming no other sources of Elevation, which are additive). It also makes her Repeated Tap nuke one of the strongest single instances of damage in the game. Very powerful Constellation, and one of the better modern support Constellation 6s.

How to Play

Overview

Linnea is a Sub-DPS and Support for Lunar Crystallize teams. Her Elemental Skill provides an off-field turret that deals Lunar Crystallize damage and applies Geo. It can be cast in two different ways, depending on if it was Tapped or Tapped Repeatedly. The former is usually preferred. Her Elemental Burst will refresh her turret's duration and heal the team.

Lunar Crystallize

When a Lunar Crystallize Reaction occurs, it will spawn 3 Geo constructs called ‘Moondrifts’ near the subject of the reaction. Regular Crystallize has an inherent cooldown of 1 second, but Lunar Crystallize does not. When subsequent Lunar Crystallize Reactions are triggered, they will attack the enemy based on the Elemental Mastery and Crit of the Reaction participants, every 3 Lunar Crystallizes. This means that more Geo application correlates directly to more Lunar Crystallize Reaction damage. The damage of the Moondrifts scales with the EM and Crit of the characters that participated in the Reaction, with priority given to the ones with the highest EM + Crit scaling.

Linnea also has the standard Base Multiplier Increase Passive for Lunar Crystallize damage, making her even further incentivized to be in dedicated Lunar Crystallize teams.

Lumi & Elemental Skill

Lumi, Linnea’s turret, can be summoned and utilized in 3 distinct ways: Tapping her Elemental Skill once, Tapping her Elemental Skill repeatedly, and using her Elemental Burst. When Tapping once, Lumi will be summoned in the ‘Super Power Form’ and periodically strike opponents, averaging roughly 1 hit every 1.8 seconds. If Moondrifts spawned by causing Lunar-Crystallize are around, Lumi will alternate between regular Geo hits and hits dealing Lunar-Crystallize Geo damage. Lumi will always strike with a regular Geo hit first.

When Tapping repeatedly, Lumi will strike the enemies with a significantly stronger hit, worth as much as 4 Lunar-Crystallize hits in ‘Super Power Form’, but will not perform any more Lunar-Crystallize hits in the rest of its uptime. It will perform only regular Geo hits at a slower rate. Overall this will make Linnea do significantly less off-field damage, but it can be useful for bursting opponents down quickly. This nuke hit also gains significant power from Linnea’s Constellations.

Both of these methods share an 18 second cooldown, and Lumi’s duration is 25 seconds. Linnea will generate 3 Geo Energy Particles when Lumi hits an enemy, with a 9 second cooldown. Since Linnea rotations will generally not be much longer than 18-19 seconds, she’ll generate roughly 6 Geo particles per rotation.

Elemental Burst

Linnea’s Elemental Burst, besides healing, will also refresh Lumi’s duration and re-summon it in the Form it was already in. It will not put her Elemental Skill into cooldown though, so you can swap Lumi’s form before or after using it.

This healing is split into a first, team-wide healing instances and several instances of healing the active character, in 2 second intervals for 12 seconds total. Linnea’s Burst has an Energy cost of 60 and is on a 15 second cooldown.

Additional Info

Zibai teams vs non-Zibai teams

Linnea’s buffing differs for Moonsign and non-Moonsign teams. Specifically:

  • Linnea will automatically shred the Geo RES of enemies by 15% in non-Moonsign teams and 30% in Moonsign teams.
  • If the on-fielder is a Moonsign character, Linnea will buff their EM based on her own Defense. If the on-fielder isn’t a Moonsign character, she will buff her own EM by the same amount instead.

Her team buffs are simply stronger if played alongside Zibai.

Release Date

Linnea was officially released as a playable Geo character in Genshin Impact on April 9, 2026, during the Version 6.5 update (also referred to as Version Luna VI).
