Character Profile

Mitya is an Electro 5 Star focused around the Stellar-Conduct Reaction, and can be played as either an on-field DPS or an off-field Support and Sub-DPS. In both modes, Mitya scales on Elemental Mastery rather than ATK. Mitya can choose which mode to enter based on what version of his skill he uses, Tap or Hold, and can swap back and forth on a 1.5s cooldown if necessary.

When Mitya is in the party, Superconduct Reactions will become Stellar-Conduct Reactions; additionally, when a Stellar-Conduct Reaction is triggered, it will be further modified into a special version of Stellar-Conduct through Mitya's passive Stellar Jubilee: Top-Secret Protocol.

Instead of generating a static Stellar Prism that creates a Polestar Field around it, special 'Gradient Beacons' will be generated that will take over the job of maintaining the Polestar Field. They will follow the active character, and Mitya can consume these Beacons as both an on-fielder and off-fielder. On-field, he will consume them to cast his Enhanced Charged Attacks as his main form of damage. As an off-fielder, he will consume all extra Beacons when he recasts his Tap Skill to deal a bit of extra damage.

As an Electro character, Mitya will compete with other Electro characters within the Stellar Conduct ecosystem more than with other Cryo characters. He can take over the job of either an on-fielder like Cyno or an off-fielder like Yae Miko or Alyosha, making him quite flexible. He's a good bit stronger than the former and best used alongside Yae Miko for other Stellar-Conduct carries, while usually not being the outright best 4th slot without a couple Constellations. He's a very strong alternative if you lack Miko and C6 Alyosha though.

Mitya has exceptional Constellations, some of the strongest in the game's history. They're particularly strong for his on-field mode, but also very strong for his off-field mode.

It is worth noting that Anastasya The Tsaritsa and Danica are likely to be released soon, and they will also have Stellar-Conduct synergy, likely with an off-field focus. Since Mitya is not a clear best 4th slot even as of right now, he might not necessarily be the best pull if looking to upgrade teams like Sandrone Stellar-Conduct.

On-field Energy Recharge Requirements: 120-140%

Off-field Energy Recharge Requirements: N/A

As an on-fielder, Mitya should require 20-40 ER depending on the team. This can make weapons like Etherlight Spindlelute very competitive options, as he will want to use his Burst every rotation. These requirements are variable depending on the Stygian Onslaught boss being fought.

Off-field Mitya will typically not want to use his Burst. It only provides additional personal damage of his, and it's rarely even worth the animation time of using it,.

As an EM scaler, the Stellar-Conduct dedicated 4pc Disenchantment in Deep Shadow will be quite a bit worse on him compared to other Stellar-Conduct characters. The ATK% 2pc will not be useful, and the Stellar DMG% it provides will be far more heavily diluted on him compared to a character like Sandrone. This means that EM 2p2p options or 4pc Gilded Dreams are outright better than Disenchantment, and should be actively preferred.

Mitya can also use an Elemental Mastery Circlet instead of Crit, though this is much better for his off-field than his on-field. It is actively worth doing so in most cases for off-field Mitya.

Best Teams

On-field Mitya

Mitya - Odette - 2 of:

Yae Miko / Valeriy / Sucrose

  • Yae Miko is the strongest damage option, but provides relatively little buffing and no defensive utility. Valeriy at C6 is relatively competitive in terms of damage while shifting the damage profile to be overwhelmingly Mitya rather than a more even split. Valeriy also provides a strong Shield, and Mitya is a very vulnerable character during his on-field time. Without C6, Valeriy is not nearly competitive for damage.
  • Sucrose will typically be the best 4th slot for damage. She provides a lot of EM to Mitya and the rest of the team, and can comfortably hold Viridescent Venerer to shred enemy Electro RES.
  • Other good slots include the typical SC flex supports like Diona at C6 and Xilonen. Diona's 200 EM to the on-fielder is especially strong for Mitya, and Xilonen at C2 can significantly alleviate Mitya's ER requirements while still providing RES Shred.

Example Rotation

First Rotation only: Mitya Tap Skill

  1. Odette Skill + Enhanced Skill
  2. Valeriy Skill + CA + Burst
  3. Sucrose Skill or NA + Burst
  4. Mitya Hold Skill + 5 CA procs + Burst + 4-5 CA procs
  5. Sucrose Skill or NA + Burst
  6. Mitya 2-3 CA procs

This rotation best abuses Mitya's ability to freely swap in and out without losing out on anything in order to refresh Sucrose's very significant buffs. This is essentially always worth doing for Mitya on-field teams with Sucrose, and Sucrose is typically going to be on all of Mitya's best teams.

With his C1, the amount of CAs Mitya does will slightly change due to the additional Gradient Beacon.

Off-field Mitya

Stellar-Conduct DPS like Sandrone - Odette - Mitya - Flex slot

  • As per usual, the strongest last slot will be Yae Miko without accounting for significant vertical investment. Other good slots will include the typical C6 Alyosha and Sucrose. Mitya is not better than Yae Miko in his slot without additional Constellations, but the combination of Miko + Mitya will make for usually the strongest available to SC teams.
  • Typically, teams with Mitya over Yae Miko in the same slot will be 5-10% worse than their equivalents assuming C0 Mitya vs C1 Yae Miko. Mitya will be a sidegrade to C6 Alyosha for Sandrone, but an upgrade to all other slots and for all other Stellar-Conduct carries, including C6 Alyosha for the altter.
  • Mitya does shift the damage profile further to the carry, as more of his value comes from his buffing compared to Yae Miko. This can be desirable, although it will rarely render him stronger than Miko.

Example Rotation

  1. Yae Miko Skill x3
  2. Odette Skill + Enhanced Skill
  3. Mitya Tap Skill
  4. Sandrone on-field combo

With Sandrone, it is important Mitya goes before her regardless of the weapon he's holding in order to feed her the Energy Particles he generates.

Mitya's weapons in these teams depend on the carry and investment, and Favonius Codex, Wandering Evenstar and Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers can all be competitive.

Best Weapons

On-field Mitya

Starsealed Edict:

Mitya's Signature Weapon, it's significantly stronger than all other available options for his on-field mode, up to 25% team DPS compared to 4 star options. It's also the best weapon for Yae Miko, about as good as Kagura's Verity for her should that be relevant.

5 star stat sticks:

Weapons like Nefer's Reliquary of Truth and a A Thousand Floating Dreams will be decent on Mitya. He wants Crit or EM, and every other stat is useless on him. Any 5 star catalyst with a Crit DMG secondary stat will be good.

Winter's Heavy Heart:

A Weapon Banner exclusive option that should be quite strong for him, especially at a high refinement. It grants him additional EM and Stellar Glimmer DMG, which are relatively diluted for him, though the Crit DMG mainstat should be strong.

Dawning Frost:

Should be similar to the above, with a high Crit DMG mainstat and a big Elemental Mastery boost that he should maintain full uptime on. Could be better than Winter's Heavy Heart if you already have it, although it is a Reliquary of Truth Weapon Banner exclusive.

Etherlight Spindlelute:

If Mitya requires a lot of ER, this is a great option on him, sometimes his best due to how high his ER requirements can be. He maintains full uptime on the EM buff without issues.

Other 4 star options include anything with a Crit or EM secondary, but due to Mitya's high innate Crit Rate, CR weapons like Sacrificial Jade can be difficult to use.

Off-field Mitya

A Thousand Floating Dreams

His best 5 star option, though not necessarily his best option period depending on the team and investment. His Signature is much stronger for his personal damage, but the team buff ATFD provides outdoes what Mitya's personal gain will provide to the team.

Starsealed Edict

Still a very strong weapon for team damage, but if the team also has Yae Miko, this weapons is better used on her with a buffing option on Mitya. Other 5 star stat sticks follow the same logic, but if you have multiple, Mitya could make use of something like Reliquary of Truth.

Wandering Evenstar

Possibly his strongest team damage option when at R5, though rarely by a lot. At lower refinements, it's much more on par with other 4 star options.

Favonius Codex

Will often be his best option available in Sandrone teams, as the extra Energy particles provided to her significantly ease her Energy requirements. This can be much more valuable than Evenstar's teamwide buff or TTDS's single-target buff.

Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers

In most teams, this won't be available every rotation due to the team's rotation length being shorter than 21 seconds. Still a competitive option even when activated every other rotation.

Best Artifacts & Stats

2pc2pc Elemental Mastery / 4pc Gilded Dreams

His strongest option due to his anti-synergy with Disenchantment. It should be relatively easy to find a set with great substats for him, making him quite easy to build on release.

4pc Disenchantment in Deep Shadow

If you have a strong enough set and not good enough 2pc of the above, it should still be an ok option, although it could make Crit Rate hard to manage.

Talent Priority

On-field Mitya

  1. Normal Attack
  2. Elemental Burst

Mitya's damage while on-field comes from the Enhanced CAs he performs by consuming Gradient Beacons primarily, but his Burst is a strong chunk of his damage and should be used every rotation. His Skill provides little to no relevant damage.

Off-field Mitya

  1. Elemental Skill

Other talents don't provide anything to off-field Mitya, provided you're not using his Burst. If you are, it's very worth leveling. Doing so will typically not be worth it though, no matter the investment.

Constellations

C1The Observer Seeking What Is Missing
C2The Matter That Slumbers Beyond Inertness
C3The Knotted String of Invariant Topology
C4The Isotopes Born of Decay
C5The Periodic Law That Orders All
C6Elemental Transition at the Gate of Reason

Overview

Mitya's early Constellation are amongst the best in the game for an on-field DPS, arguably the best numerically. They're quite strong for both of his modes, but particularly strong for on-field Mitya. His C2 is one of the best in terms of numerical increase, but doesn't change his gameplay at all. C1 can slightly change the gameplay of his on-field mode, but doesn't do a whole lot for his off-field gameplay.

C1 Mitya about as good as C1 Yae Miko as a Stellar-Conduct Support, and C2 Mitya should be slightly superior to C2 Yae Miko. For vertical investment beyond that, Mitya is much stronger in direct comparison, but they will be better used together most of the time.

Constellation Details

  • C1: The maximum number of Gradient Beacons will provide a little bit of extra damage when re-casting his Tap Skill for off-field Mitya, and let him perform different CA combos compared to C0. The additional Gradient Beacon generation aids both.
    • The Crit DMG provided to the on-field character works for either mode, and is the much more significant part of the Constellation for off-field Mitya.
    • The additional Energy generation is massive for on-field Mitya, and significantly eases his Energy Requirements.
    • Overall, this C1 should be a roughly 10% team DPS increase for teams with off-field Mitya, and a much stronger 16-17% for on-field Mitya teams.
  • C2: Both of its effects are functionally active unconditionally. The Electro/Cryo Shred changes the makeup of his teams, making C6 Valeriy more valuable than Sucrose as a 4th slot in on-field Mitya teams. It increase the damage of his teammates in Odette / Yae Miko by quite a bit.
    • As an on-fielder, the 234 additional EM to himself is powerful enough to the point of being stronger than most premium teammate slot upgrades.
    • As an off-fielder, due to a team like Sandrone / Odette / Yae Miko / Mitya not having any RES Shred without Constellations, just the Shred itself is worth 12% team DPS. The 123 teamwide EM doesn't hold the same value the self EM buff does, but it can be worth up to 8-10% team DPS itself.
    • In total, it should be a team DPS increase of up to 30-35% for on-field Mitya, and about 15-18% for off-field Mitya teams, depending on a few factors.
  • C3: An additional 3 levels to his Elemental Skill is only useful for off-field Mitya, and off-field Mitya's damage is typically not that relevant for the team's damage. Mostly negligible.
  • C4: Provides extra hits of Stellar-Conduct DMG passively, whenever Mitya consumes Beacons. This is better for on-field Mitya than for off-field Mitya, and should be about a 10% team DPS increase for the former.
  • C5: 3 levels to his Normal Attack talent translates to a good bit of extra damage for his on-field mode, although not as good as a lot of DPS Talent Level Constellations. About 8% team DPS depending on the team.
  • C6: 20% Elevation translates to 20% more team DPS provided there are no other sources of Elevation in the team, already making this quite strong.
    • For off-field Mitya, the only bonus this Constellation provides is 15% more personal DPS for himself, which is largely negligible.
    • For on-field Mitya, it instead has a 34% chance to spawn an additional Beacon whenever Mitya consumes a Beacon. This effect is true RNG and can technically stack infinitely on itself, opening up some interesting avenues for his gameplay. It will almost always result in additional Enhanced CAs regardless.

Release Date

Mitya will be released alongside the launch of Patch 7.2.
