Completing your Breezy Plains collection unlocks the Windchaser Badge, giving you more chances to find Sparkling and Umbral Aniimo while exploring. This Aniimo Aniilog guide covers the 82 species you need to collect for the reward.
We’ll go through where to find them, how their evolutions work and which quests you’ll need to complete. Most are straightforward catches, but a few are tucked away in caves or have extra requirements that are easy to miss.
A huge thank you to Augiesaint for his Aniimo collection tips and insights! Be sure to check out his channel for more Aniimo content.
How to Get the Windchaser Badge
You’ll unlock the Windchaser Badge by collecting all 82 species in the Breezy Plains Family Collection. That includes the different evolutions, but you don’t need to catch every weather, regional or Sparkling variant.
The reward increases Sparkling and Umbral appearances by 50% throughout Breezy Plains and comes with the Gale-Chasing title. If you’re planning to spend time hunting rare Aniimo, it’s worth filling those collection gaps along the way.
Inferlupa is one to keep in mind early. Its Warrior quest in Beast Fang Ridge takes three real days, so getting that going while you work on the other entries saves you waiting around at the end. Elite Training and Pathfinder Challenges are also worth doing as you explore, since you’ll need them for Somniwing and Besauce.
Finding Aniimo and Evolution Materials
If you’re missing an Aniimo, open its entry in the Aniilog and select Habitat. This shows you where to look, along with any relevant conditions for finding it.
For evolutions, open the menu on the earlier Aniimo in the family. You’ll see the level and materials needed, plus any extra requirements. These can include defeating a boss, learning a player talent or doing something specific while Twined with your Aniimo.
The evolution requirements below are for basic forms. If you’re using another form, check its menu for any extra conditions.
You can also track evolution materials through Institute Guide → Challenge → Alpha Evolution Material. Press F4 on PC, choose the material you need and select Go. This points you towards the relevant Alpha, even if you haven’t found it yet.
For Alphas, you’ll need to win the fight before attempting a catch. Using an Aniipod Ultra on an Alpha you’re still missing can save you a failed capture and another fight. Catching it also fills that species’ entry without needing to evolve one yourself.
Omega bosses can’t be captured. Beating them unlocks the related evolution, but you’ll still need to meet its other requirements.
If you’re having trouble finding your way around, our Aniimo map and locations guide covers the regions, habitats and useful landmarks.
Early Aniimo and Hidden Evolutions
Emberpup, Flameruff and Scorchhowl
Emberpup and Flameruff and can both be caught in Nimbus Fields, making this family an easy one to start collecting.
You’ll also need a Flameruff for Inferlupa, so keep a spare if you’re working on both evolutions.
Inferlupa
Inferlupa takes a little more work because its evolution is locked behind Journey: Warrior in Beast Fang Ridge.
Open Flameruff's evolution menu, select Inferlupa and track the Warrior requirement. That will point you towards the quest around the Emberpup campfire. The story scenes take place at night, and the quest has two daily-reset waits, spreading it across three real days.
Once you’ve finished Warrior, you’ll need:
A level 20 Flameruff.
Six Unbroken Flameruff Spirits.
One Night Stone.
You can farm the spirits from Flameruff · The Mighty in the clearing uphill from the Beast Fang Ridge teleport. They appear during the day, so head up, clear the group and return once they’ve respawned.
Travelling away and back can help you revisit the spawn, but if the clearing is still empty, give it a little more time.
Celestis and Stellarys
You can find Celestis in Nimbus Fields and the Forest of Falling Stars, while Stellarys can be caught as an Alpha.
Chirpi, Tromber, Cornet and Tubster
Chirpi can evolve directly into Tromber, Cornet or Tubster. All three basic-form evolutions need level 18 and one Gust Stone, but two have extra requirements:
Cornet: Just the level and Gust Stone.
Tromber: At least 6 Acquired HP Potential, plus the Magic Horn passive talent from your player skill tree.
Tubster: At least 6 Acquired BREAK Potential, plus a win against Alpha Tubster.
Check the specific Acquired Potential stat on your Chirpi. Its overall Common, Good, Elite or Perfect rating doesn’t replace that requirement.
You can also catch Alpha Tubster directly if you only need its collection entry.
Iris and Irisal
Iris and Irisal can both be found in the wild, including around the Sea of Flowers and Forest of Falling Stars. You can also catch Alpha Irisal. Defeating that Alpha unlocks Iris’s evolution into Irisal as well.
Skippy, Pranky, Glacy and Leafy
Skippy and Pranky are wild catches, while Glacy can be obtained by evolving a level 20 Pranky with one Wave Stone.
For Leafy, catching the Alpha is a straightforward way to fill the entry. If you want to evolve one, defeat Alpha Leafy, take a level 20 Pranky onto the giant lotus leaf where the Alpha lives, then use one Sprout Stone.
Nimbi and Turbo
You’ll find Nimbi in Nimbus Fields, and Turbo is available as an Alpha. You can also find a weather form of Turbo roaming with Nimbi during thunderstorms, so it’s worth checking the area when the weather changes.
Dreaple
Dreaple has a hidden spawn in Nimbus Fields, on the ruined stairs below the circular structure near the teleport. There’s a little setup before it appears.
First, complete Sleeping Flock. During the day, Twine with Nimbi and join the sleeping flock by the unusual leaf tree west of Sanctum: First Spark.
After that, catch 30 Emberpup-family Aniimo. The first time Dreaple appears, you’ll get a notification. Head back to the ruined stairs and you should find it sleeping there.
Try to catch it while it’s still asleep to benefit from the capture bonus, and check the displayed chance before choosing your Aniipod. Our Aniimo capture tips cover the bonuses and tools that make catches easier.
Hummin, Hexxin and Tuckin
Hummin and Hexxin can be caught in the wild, with Mistwoods a useful place to look. Tuckin has an extra evolution step that’s easy to overlook.
After unlocking Sanctum: Twisted Roots through its local quest and defeating Omega Tuckin, take Hummin to the Sanctum entrance. Twine with it, use Dig and stay burrowed for 20 seconds.
Once the condition completes, you can evolve a level 18 Hummin into Tuckin using one Sprout Stone.
Budclaw, Shrubclaw and Geoclaw
Budclaw and Shrubclaw can both be caught in the wild. Alpha Geoclaw is trickier to reach because it’s underground, north of the Breezy Plains Branch. Going straight to the boss marker puts you above the cave.
You’ll first need to offer 120 Lumin Amber to the Breezy Plains Branch. This unlocks Earthwake Revelation and clears the root barriers blocking the hidden caves.
Once that’s done:
Head to the small stream west of the Breezy Plains Branch.
Look for the blocked entrance beside the water, near the Glacy.
Use Fire to melt the blockage, then Tunnel to get through the narrow passage.
Follow the cave to Geoclaw, beat the Alpha and attempt the catch.
Forest Aniimo and Quest Rewards
Sparki and Flamerion
Both Sparki and Flamerion can be caught in the wild, including around Mistwoods. Check their Habitat entries for time conditions if you’re struggling to find the one you need.
Flutternym and Gracewing
Flutternym can be found in Nimbus Fields and the Sea of Flowers. To get Gracewing, you can evolve a level 21 Flutternym using one Gust Stone, giving you a straightforward way to add both to your collection.
Somniwing
Somniwing is a reward for reaching 180 Elite Training points. Once you’ve hit that milestone, complete Polaris Commendation and speak to Dr. Lewis at the Outpost to receive it.
Keep working through the Core Courses and other Elite Training objectives alongside your collection. When you reach 180 points, make sure you pick up the reward.
Eko and Eklue
Look around the Forest of Falling Stars and check Habitat for Eko and Eklue. You can also evolve Eko into Eklue at level 25, with at least 6 Acquired ATK Potential and one Gust Stone.
Budsquire, Thornblade and Melloblum
Budsquire and Thornblade can be caught in the wild. Melloblum's evolution is tied to Journey: Flowers and Thorns, which takes place in the maze in Rosetower Woods.
You can track the quest from Budsquire’s evolution menu. Follow the objectives through the maze and Twine with the local Aniimo when prompted.
After finishing the quest, you’ll need:
A level 27 Budsquire with Faithful in its personality.
One Sprout Stone.
One Stamen of Cubbo’s Rose.
Keep hold of that quest material so you’re ready to evolve Melloblum once the other requirements are met.
Pomegg and Pomawk
Pomegg can be caught in the wild, including in the Forest of Falling Stars. For Pomawk, you can either evolve Pomegg or check Pomawk’s Habitat for a wild catch.
Dewy and Fragrancier
Dewy is a wild catch. If you’re looking for Fragrancier, check the pond near the Sea of Flowers teleport. It flies around the nearby trees, beside a small birdhouse.
Standing on the birdhouse gives you a handy spot to throw from. If you’re struggling to hit it while it’s moving, try a tracking Aniipod.
Wisptis and Ignitis
Look for Wisptis around Mistwoods and Blitzwood, checking Habitat for the form and spawn conditions you need. For Ignitis, catching Alpha Ignitis is another way to fill its collection entry once you’ve won the fight.
Bonesky, Fenrier and Glynsera
These can be found in the wild, including around Beast Fang Ridge. Check each one’s Habitat separately. Glynsera also appears as an Alpha if you’d prefer to get it through that encounter.
Bolty and Blazen
You can catch Alpha Blazen directly or evolve a level 33 Bolty after defeating it.
For the evolution, take Bolty beneath the Blitz Tree in Blitzwood and use one Roar Stone. Being at the tree is part of the requirement, so if the evolution is still locked, check where you’re standing.
Squarrel and Squashel
Squarrel and Squashel are both wild catches, with Blitzwood a useful place to check. Select the one you’re missing in Habitat to narrow down your search
Water Aniimo and Highlands Evolutions
Susuta, Popota, Piopiota and Panpanta
You’ll find Susuta and Popota around Echoback Landing, while Panpanta can be caught as an Alpha.
Piopiota has a slightly unusual evolution requirement: you need a wild Susuta of the opposite gender to follow your Popota.
Check your Popota’s gender, then Twine with it.
Walk around the Susuta near Echoback Landing and look for one of the opposite gender.
Approach until it follows you and the evolution requirement completes.
Evolve your level 39 Popota with one Wave Stone.
Shelly, Sheldon and Sherro
Shelly and Sheldon can both be caught around Echoback Landing. For Sherro, you’ll need to defeat Omega Sherro, then evolve a level 39 Sheldon with one Wave Stone.
You can’t catch the Omega itself, so keep a Sheldon ready for the evolution.
Baleetle, Waleetle and Bouldus
Baleetle and Waleetle are wild catches, including around Berylline Vale. Bouldus is available as an Alpha, so you can catch it after winning the fight.
Fentuft and Fenmane
Check their Habitat entries around Driftwise Meadow. If you’d rather evolve Fentuft, you’ll need level 42, one Roar Stone and to have exchanged an Aniimo with a friend once.
If the level and material are ready but you still can’t evolve, check that you’ve completed the friend exchange.
Helmut and Pawney
Helmut can be caught in the wild. To get Pawney, open Helmut’s evolution menu and track Pull out the Sword of Bravery, which leads you to its quest in Russet Highlands.
The important part is choosing your Helmut before pulling out the sword. That quest step immediately evolves the Helmut you’re using into Pawney, so bring one you’d be happy to keep.
A Perfect Helmut is a good choice if you want Pawney for your team, but you don’t need one just to complete the collection. The Helmut’s form also affects which Pawney form you receive, so check that before committing.
Once the quest is complete, you’ll unlock the usual evolution route for other eligible Helmut too.
Rookey
You can catch Alpha Rookey directly if you’re just filling the collection.
To evolve Helmut instead, learn the Unwavering Rampart talent in your player skill tree and defeat an opponent using Counter damage during Ballistic Guard. You’ll also need a level 45 Helmut and one Night Stone.
Jawling, Helmwhelp and Helgon
Jawling and Helmwhelp can be caught in Russet Highlands. For Helgon, look around the raised platforms near Twister Peaks, on the western side of the area.
Helgon flies around these platforms, so get up onto one and watch its route. You can move closer to get its attention or throw a tracking Aniipod when it comes within reach.
Infergon
Infergon evolves directly from Helmwhelp, and this is one where Potential matters. You’ll need:
A win against Omega Infergon.
A level 48 Helmwhelp with Perfect Potential.
One Blaze Stone.
If you’re saving a Helmwhelp for Infergon, keep it unevolved until you’re ready. Our Aniimo Potential guide explains the ratings and what to check when choosing which catches to keep.
Cubbo and Grizbo
You can find Cubbo around Rosetower Woods and catch Grizbo as an Alpha. Alternatively, defeat Alpha Grizbo, then evolve a level 47 Cubbo with one Loam Stone.
Cave Locations and Final Aniimo
Pebbling, Lavazar and Magmarex
You can catch all three in Hot Spring Reef, including a regular Magmarex. There’s an Alpha down there too, but reaching the lower pools gives you another option.
Head to the hot spring opening in the northeastern part of the map.
Drop down carefully and avoid the water jets, which launch you back up.
If the initial rock barriers are still blocking the way, use an Aniimo with level 2 flight to fly over them.
Continue past the Alpha area and down into the lower hot springs.
Look around the pools for Pebbling, Lavazar and a regular Magmarex.
This lets you fill all three entries without needing to catch the Alpha first.
Geodeback and Minespine
Geodeback can be found through its Habitat marker. Alpha Minespine is hidden inside the Forgotten Mine in Beast Fang Ridge, so you’ll need to find the cave entrance first.
This cave also needs Earthwake Revelation, unlocked by offering 120 Lumin Amber to the Breezy Plains Branch. Without it, roots will block your way inside.
To reach Minespine:
From the Beast Fang Ridge teleport, follow the path west and downhill.
Look for a cave entrance surrounded by orange crystals.
Break the black rocks inside using Head Hammer on Cubbo or Grizbo. You can also move an explosive barrel with Gravity and ignite it with Fire.
Use Tunnel to get through the narrow gap.
Follow the cave to the arena and activate the Bloom before fighting the Alpha.
After winning, you’ll have a chance to catch Minespine and fill its entry.
Cozite and Bailite
Both can be found in Zephyrus Landbridge. For Bailite, look for the small hut beside the large sandcastle settlement.
You can catch it there directly, so check the spot before using materials to evolve one.
Bulbly, Veilfloat and Luminelle
Bulbly and Veilfloat are wild catches. Alpha Luminelle is found in Tideblossom Coast at night, but you’ll want to look up when you arrive.
It initially appears as a bright star moving through the sky. Wait near the encounter area and watch it circle around. Eventually, it comes down to the ground, where you can fight and catch it.
Defeating the Alpha also unlocks Veilfloat’s evolution into Luminelle, once you’ve met the remaining requirements.
Fahloo and Erlath
Use Habitat to find a wild Fahloo. You can then evolve it into Erlath at level 49 using one Wave Stone.
Besauce
For Besauce, you’ll need to collect 40 Besauce Fragments and trade them in through an Outpost shop’s Item Exchange.
The fragments come from first-clear Pathfinder Challenge rewards. Check the challenges on your map, complete the ones you can handle and keep collecting until you have enough for the exchange.
Normal Pathfinder Challenges give fragments too, so you don’t need to tackle the Elite ones straight away. Doing these as you explore makes Besauce much less of a grind when you’re finishing the collection.
Finishing Your Aniilog
Once you’ve collected the final species, head back to the Aniilog and claim your 82-species collection reward. If you’re still missing a few, check for an unfinished evolution, an unclaimed Somniwing or a quest you’ve left partway through.
With the Windchaser Badge unlocked, you can carry on exploring Breezy Plains with the extra Sparkling and Umbral appearance bonus. Our Sparkling Aniimo variants guide can help you choose your next target. Pick a favourite, head to its habitat and keep an eye out while you explore.
