Aniimo Potential Guide - Which Aniimo to Keep

After catching a few copies of the same Aniimo, it can be difficult to know which one deserves your resources. Potential helps you compare them, while personalities and other traits give you more to consider before deciding what to keep or release.

This Aniimo Potential guide explains how to check your catches at the Research Console, what the Common, Good, Elite and Perfect ratings mean, and which Aniimo are worth investing in. We also cover personalities, element affinity traits and what to consider if you have already trained a lower-potential copy.

Potential helps you compare the innate stats of different copies of the same Aniimo. Its four ratings, from lowest to highest, are Common, Good, Elite and Perfect.

A higher rating gives you a stronger starting point for training, but it should not be your only consideration. The Aniimo’s role, personality and usefulness to your team still matter when deciding where to spend resources.

There is also a distinction between innate and acquired Potential. Innate Potential is determined when you catch an Aniimo, while acquired Potential can be raised afterward. Your initial catch has room to improve, even if you eventually choose to replace it with a stronger copy.

Visit the Research Console at a camp outpost and upload your catch report to reveal your Aniimo’s Potential.

1. Catch the Aniimo you want to assess.
2. Open the map and fast travel to a camp outpost.
3. Find the Research Console and interact with it.
4. Select the upload option to report your catches.
5. Review the Common, Good, Elite or Perfect rating assigned to each one.

Make this part of your routine after a catching trip. Comparing a batch makes it easier to spot promising copies before committing materials or clearing unwanted duplicates.

Keep Perfect catches and useful Elite copies as your main candidates for training. Before releasing anything with a lower rating, check whether you still need it for your current team or Homeland.

Common and Good Potential

Common and Good are the lower Potential tiers, so they are usually the first duplicates to consider replacing when you find a stronger copy of the same Aniimo.

Avoid spreading scarce upgrade materials across several lower-potential copies. If you want to use a particular creature for the long term, keep looking for an Elite or Perfect version.

However, you do not need to remove a useful team member immediately. Keep the copy helping you progress until you have a suitable replacement, and check Homeland abilities and traits before deciding that a catch has no value.

Elite Potential

Elite is a good choice for an Aniimo you actively want to use. You can build around one while continuing to look for Perfect, rather than leaving your team underprepared during the search.

Focus on Elite copies that fill a role you need or that you enjoy playing. Finding an Elite does not mean you have to train it if it will sit unused in storage.

Perfect Potential

Perfect is the highest Potential rating and the main target when choosing a copy for long-term investment.

Keep these catches, then decide which ones deserve your materials based on your team. A Perfect rating makes an Aniimo worth reviewing, but it does not mean you need to level every Perfect creature you own.

Favourite the catches you want to protect before sorting through the rest of your storage. This also helps you keep track of promising replacements as your collection grows.

Catching multiple copies gives you more opportunities to find a higher-potential version of a creature you want. Report each batch at the Research Console and compare the results before heading out again.

Try to combine this with collection and species research objectives. That way, your search for a stronger copy can also contribute towards other rewards.

Personalities provide additional stat effects that can influence how well an Aniimo suits its role. Each personality appears as a four-letter combination, such as ENFJ or INFP.

To check yours, open Aniimo Management, select a creature and choose its personality on the right side of the screen. Open the breakdown to see the effects of its personality traits.

Compare those effects with what you need the Aniimo to do. For example, when reviewing a damage dealer, look for bonuses that support its damage rather than choosing a personality purely because its name sounds appealing.

You can also change personality using fruit items. Read the relevant item’s effect before using it, and check the resulting bonuses before spending more materials on the creature.

Element affinity traits are another source of stat bonuses. AniimoSync’s breakdown covers HP, damage, damage taken reduction, critical rate, critical damage and Gusto, with three tiers for each.

Review these alongside Potential and personality when comparing catches. A Potential grade helps you narrow down your options, while the individual bonuses help you decide which copy best supports the role you want it to fill.

Do not release a trained Aniimo as soon as you catch a stronger replacement. AniimoSync explains that progression can be transferred to a better copy, so an earlier investment does not automatically mean starting again from nothing.

Check the transfer requirements and what carries over before committing. Keep both copies until you have confirmed how the replacement works, and do not assume every resource or consumable can be recovered.

For now, upgrade the team you need to keep progressing and save your biggest commitments for copies you expect to keep. Finding a Perfect replacement can be a longer-term goal while a useful Elite continues helping you through the game.
