Weapon-Bequeathed Harmonia, also known as the Balancers, is a Night Lord from Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows DLC.
They are a combination of seven valkyrie warriors wielding greatspears, and are related to
Undertaker's questline.
We'll have GIFs soon that demonstrate every attack and mechanic, stay tuned!
One of the Balancers will be enhanced as their leader, granting more mobile and powerful attacks. Attacking the leader will deal more damage to the boss’s total HP bar.
This boss is weak to the Sleep ailment, and attacking the lesser Balancers with a sleep weapon will quickly put them to sleep for a long time, allowing the party to focus on the leader.
The newly introduced
Scholar is a great pick for this fight, as his ultimate art makes all nearby enemies share damage dealt, allowing the group to take multiple Balancers more quickly.
There are seven Balancers, and most of their attacks include big sweeps with their spears or AoE attacks, which can accidentally hit other players. If the party spreads out, the Balancers will tend to focus each player evenly and take turns when attacking, making for a slower-paced fight.
If you have a sleep weapon, take on Balancers one by one, and put them all to sleep. Then, defeat them one by one. This will make the overall fight much simpler, as you can get rid of lesser Balancers very quickly and focus the leader.
In phase one, there will be no Balancer leader, and all seven will focus players evenly, switching focus every now and then.
The lesser Balancers’ move set is on the slower side, and they have low poise so they can easily be staggered or stance-broken. However, players must keep an eye out for multiple Balancers attacking at the same time. Their attacks include:
The Balancer can leap onto a player and do a horizontal sweep. This attack can’t be canceled by staggering them, so you will have to roll in any direction to avoid damage.
These are slow and can be easily dodged to the sides or backward with a precise roll.
If a Balancer is hit while they’re in a defending stance, they will leap, swiping twice on their way down
Listen to the audio cues, as sometimes Balancers will grab you from behind. The attack can be dodged by running away in any direction.
After kneeling and channeling for a few seconds, the Balancers will trigger an explosion around themselves. Run away to safely avoid damage.
The Balancer will raise their spear high, and a purple line will appear on the ground, only to explode afterward. Roll sideways to dodge.
A multiple-hitting frontal combo after their spear glows white. Run backward or roll multiple times in succession to dodge.
After all the Balancers have been defeated once, they will come back to life, and one of them will rise as their leader, gaining a red ribbon around their body. In this phase, players must defeat all Balancers multiple times until the boss’s HP bar is completely depleted.
Each time the Balancers are knocked down, they will rise in unison and target a player (shown by a red circle in them). All Balancers will fly at the target player in tandem, leaving trailing explosions. Finally, the Balancer leader will bring down a spear rain at the player covering a wide area.
You can dodge the flying Balancers by running backward, keeping an eye on the ground to roll through the explosions if needed. You will have to block or dodge through the final spear attack, which can one-shot squishy nightfarers like Recluse or Ironeye. Alternatively, use your Ultimate Art to gain invincibility frames through the attack.
The Balancer leader has a similar grab as the other Balancers, but it’s much quicker and reaches further forward. Running to the sides is the best option to dodge it.
A purple sphere will appear at a location and, after a few seconds, the Balancer leader will teleport there, dealing massive damage. Run away from the explosion and get some distance to avoid being overwhelmed by multiple Balancers at the same time.
When the Balancer leader’s spear glows white, they will perform a 5-slam combo, dealing damage in the area directly in front of them. You can dodge the first and second attacks normally, but the third hit is quicker and can roll-catch you easily, guaranteeing the fifth one to hit. The safest option is to run away from the attack and dodge only if necessary.
The Balancer leader has another special combo attack, where she will fly at a player and slash their spear sideways four times before leaping back into the air, sending two horizontal waves and a final vertical wave.
You can dodge or run backwards to avoid the slashes, and jump over the waves or roll through them directly.
The Balancer leader can recall all the other Balancers and do multiple circular explosions in a row. After an explosion, run inside the safe area and keep an eye on the ground.
The Balancer leader can recall all other Balancers and send out explosions in a line. Watch out for the lights above the Balancer group and the marks on the ground showing where it’ll explode.
Balancers' Everdark Sovereign fight features a new phase altogether, in which the Balancers gain
Blood Loss and transform into a giant worm-like creature.
The recommended Nightfarers include
Scholar for his damage-sharing Ultimate Art,
Ironeye due to his constant DPS and mobility, and
Duchess for her flexibility and safety.
Remember to bring
Sleep ailment weapons. The
Sword Of St Trina can put Balancers to sleep very quickly, and other Sleep-infused weapons can dispatch Balancers very quickly.
The Everdark Balancers have Area of Effect attacks, so it is recommended to split up to make the fight less chaotic.
The fight starts off like its regular counterpart, with no Balancer leader. Refer to our regular Balancers guide for tips on how to deal with them. Once all seven Balancers have been brought down, the screen will fade to red and the Everdark Fight will begin.
The arena turns red, and the Balancers will respawn one by one. They are covered in Blood, and their attacks will inflict
Blood Loss for the rest of the fight. Their new moveset is quicker and more erratic, and they can run at players from afar.
Running Spear Attack
The Balancer runs at a player and pierces forward with their lance twice in quick succession. This attack will hit you if you try to roll backward, so it's best to roll sideways at the last moment, as both parts of the attack will miss. Balancers can target a player with this attack even if they are far away, so keep an eye out for any Balancer that may be running toward you.
Swinging Spear Attack 1
The Balancer swings their spear multiple times while walking toward the player. After a brief pause, they jump at a player and swing again, ending the combo with a ground slam. You can roll or walk backward to evade the first part of the combo, but you will need to roll twice in quick succession to avoid the second part.
Swinging Spear Combo 2
This attack is similar to the previous one, as the Balancer swings their spear while loosely targeting a player. You only need to evade the first and last hits of the combo, as the Balancer moves around a lot. Be careful of other nearby players, as they can get hit by the Balancer during the combo too.
Triple Spear Slam
The Balancer's spear glows red, and it will jump in the air and slam downward with the spear three times, targeting a player. The third jump has more delay and causes three followup explosions. To avoid this attack, you can simply run backward or roll when you see the Balancer crashing down. Beware of the aftershocks, as they cover a great area around them.
Bleed Projectile Combo
The Balancer screams, and their spear glows red. They jump toward a player and lunge with their spear forward multiple times, throwing out projectiles that cause Blood Loss buildup and cover a wide area. You can dodge backward repeatedly to avoid the whole combo, but beware of the AoE projectiles hitting other players behind you.
Once the Everdark Balancers' HP drops to 66% and 33% approximately, they disappear, and a giant worm-like creature spawns in the middle of the arena. This section of the fight is highly scripted, as the Worm will usually follow the same attacks in succession as they are presented below, ending in a DPS check that can one-shot players if failed. While the worm is in the arena, blood flowers appear and burst after a brief delay, causing Blood Loss and damage.
Jump + Shockwave
After appearing, the worm will jump onto the ground and cause a giant shockwave. Keep an eye on the ground and jump or roll through it.
Rain of Spears
The worm's spear lights up, and it causes three rains of spears. The first one falls directly in front of him, the second one causes two rows to fall on its sides, and the third one falls in a wider area in front. If you run away from the worm, you can easily avoid this attack: Stand to its left or right to evade the first rain of spears, then get directly in front of it for the second one, and go back to where you were for the third attack.
Golden Waves
The worm sends out two giant golden waves forward that can be jumped or rolled through. However, it is best to bring a shield to block the attack if you are not confident or if your character has a bad rolling animation.
Ultimate Attack (DPS check)
The worm stays in place and grows a giant red flower. Players have a short amount of time to reach it and destroy the bright red appendages around its body (or otherwise fully deplete its HP). If players fail to do so, the flower will explode, doing massive damage in a large area around the worm. This attack can one-shot players very easily, so players should coordinate on whether to focus the worm or run away until the attack is finished.
There are different outcomes depending on whether or not the party passed the DPS check:
Players can obtain "The Will of Balance" relic from defeating the Everdark Balancers. It is a Red Relic with the following effects:
This Relic is one of the best in the entire game, as their effects are very powerful, and the third effect pairs well with damage negation impairing passives from the Deep of Night mode.
Its effects stack with the regular
The Will of the Balancers Relic, and combined, they are really powerful with melee Nightfarers that can utilise Weapon Skills, like
Wylder, melee
Ironeye,
Executor, and
Undertaker.
The Will of the Balancers pairs well with skill-based melee builds, like the
Sword Of Night And Flame,
Marika's Hammer, or
Rivers Of Blood.
It is a great option for the newly released Undertaker character as well, due to the many great weapon skills available for Hammers and Greathammers.
