How Magic Cocktail Works
In Elden Ring Nightreign, the Recluse is the spellcasting Nightfarer class with access to 14 unique spells.
Having so many possibilities makes them incredibly powerful due to having an answer for almost any situation.
However, they're also the most difficult class to play as a result. Here are the basics of how it works:
- The Recluse's passive ability, Elemental Defense, absorbs the affinity of elemental damage dealt to anything with a health bar.
- Each one absorbed is stored as a charge as Magic, Fire, Lightning, or Holy.
- When Recluse casts her ability, Magic Cocktail, it will cast a spell on the last three charges that were stored.

- Magic + Magic + Magic: Pure Magic
- Summons a tracking wisp that detonates on contact
- "Enwreathe enemy in a magic kernel that periodically bursts and spins, dealing damage for some time."
- Fire + Fire + Fire: Pure Fire
- Fire damage AOE
- "Throw a whirlwind of flame. Flame spreads across a small area upon contact, and burns for some time."
- Lightning + Lightning + Lightning: Pure Lightning
- Bloodhound’s Step
- "Enwreathe oneself in lightning, bolstering dodging actions."
- Holy + Holy + Holy: Pure Holy
- Divine Shield (increases Defense)
- "Enwreathe oneself in holy light, bolstering poise and increasing damage negation."
- Magic + Lightning + Holy: Magic/Lightning/Holy
- AOE Freeze and Ice Armor
- "Create cold storm with area effect and retreat inside ice block, gaining invulnerability."
- Holy + Lightning + Lightning: Lightning/Holy
- Automatic parry
- "Weave a layer of lightning that parries enemy attacks for a short time."
- Magic + Fire + Holy: Magic/Fire/Holy
- Magic Fire breath that damages enemies and replenishes allies.
- "Spew a mixed affinity breath that inflicts damage upon enemies, and restores HP and FP of allies within contact."
- Fire + Lightning + Holy: Fire/Lightning/Holy
- AOE Lightning that explodes after a small delay
- "Create lightning rod and thrust forward into terrain. White lightning strikes rod after a short delay."
- Holy + Holy + Fire = Fire/Holy
- Warming Stone AOE effect on allies l and lowers enemy HP Max
- "Raise a torch for a limited time that raises max HP and reduces status ailment gauge buildup for nearby allies, and lowers max HP of nearby enemies.
- Holy + Magic + Magic: Magic/Holy
- Grants you infinite FP (mana) for a small period of time
- "Cover nearby area with a magic veil, fully conserving FP for self and allies for a short time."
- Lightning + Lightning + Magic OR Magic + Magic + Lightning: Magic/Lightning
- Swing a magically conjured sword (like Carian Slicer)
- "Execute broad forward slash with magic blade. Hold to move with sword drawn."
- Fire + Fire + Lightning OR Lightning + Lightning + Fire: Fire/Lightning
- A Fire Blinkbolt which causes a smaller lighting damage explosion
- "Become fireball and barrel forward, raining lightning on nearby foes."
- Magic + Fire + Lightning = Magic/Fire/Lightning
- AOE gravity explosion (gravity magic deals mostly physical damage)
- "Conjure frontwards exploding gravity orb. Gravity orb pulls enemies inward, expands, and explodes, inflicting heavy damage."
- Magic + Fire + Fire OR Fire + Magic + Magic: Magic/Fire
- A homing fiery projectile that continuously deals damage to a single target
- "Launch a wraith flame that pursues enemies"
