In Elden Ring Nightreign, a full run is comprised of three days. The first two days, your goal is to power up your character by defeating enemies to level up and gather equipment and abilities. On the final day, your hope is that you are strong enough to defeat the final Night Boss.
Time is of the essence in Nightreign due to the battle royale-esque circle that continually closes. If you're too slow, you will take damage and eventually die from being outside of the circle.
In his podcast episode with Rurikhan, FightinCowboy explains that he timed out the exact lengths during his review testing:
- When a Day begins, you have 4.5 minutes before the first circle begins to close.
- After 3 minutes, the first circle will fully close.
- You then have 3.5 minutes before the second circle begins to close.
- 3 minutes after that, the second circle closes and you fight the Night Boss.
- Overall, this means you get 14 minutes to explore before Night 1 or 2 end.
The main takeaway here is that every second counts in Nightreign, so be deliberate and decisive in planning out your next move!
Over time, you'll internalize the best choices to prioritize but just like any FromSoftware game, there will be many deaths and lessons learned along the way.
