General Revenant Build (Theorycraft)

presentationRevenant
Updated on Jun 1, 2025

Intro

This build focuses on enhancing the Revenant’s role as a high-Faith spellcaster. Staying in the backline and focusing your summons on enemies you want to target first is key and will allow your team to quickly and safely dispatch enemies.

Revenant acts as a battle commander of sorts, allowing her summons to do the frontline work for her while she finishes off stray enemies and turns them into ally ghosts. Her low stats make her the most squishy among Nightfarers, and players should be extra careful as bosses can kill Revenant with one single hit.

Any Faith-based Seal or Weapon will work with her, but the ones with high range spells are best due to her nature.

This has been theorycrafted before the official release, check back later for updated Executor Builds.

Equipment Loadout

Armaments

Note: Always grab the best Seals available since there are only a handful in the game.

Best-in-slot

Alternatives

You can also equip melee weapons with Faith scaling (those with Holy damage or a Faith-based Ash of War). Those with ranged Ashes of War are best, to avoid getting in danger.

Talismans

Best-in-slot

  • Faithful's Canvas Talisman- Increases potency of Incantations
  • Radagon Icon- Shortens Spell Casting Time

Alternatives

  • Godfrey Icon - Increases Charged Spell and Skill damage
  • Ritual Sword Talisman - Increases attack when HP is full

Consumables

Best-in-slot

  • Starlight Shards - Revenant can't regenerate FP on her own like Recluse, so this helps her continue pumping spells.
  • Warming Stone - AoE healing for the party
  • Revive Stones - Best for staying alive during boss fights
  • Uplifting Aromatic - Reduces damage taken once and increases damage for a time
  • Bloodboil Aromatic - Increases damage dealt and received. Useful when you cannot be hit during fights

Boluses are not useful on Revenant since she will often die before a status effect is triggered on her. Greases are largely useless, too, since she doesn’t directly attack.

Game Plan and Pathing

Day 1

Revenant is extremely squishy early on, so never go in first to battles. However, she can clear enemy settlements with ease, as her passive Skill raises ghosts from defeated enemies, which will quickly turn the tide of battle in your favor.

On Day 1, you should immediately look for nearby small camps or settlements where you can take on weaker foes like soldiers and knights and easily level up to Lv 3. Try to improve your survivability through dormant powers and weapon passive effects, and get different Seals or Faith-scaling weapons with good Ashes of War.

You should equip any weapon with a suitable passive effect for your character, even if you won’t use said weapon.

Day 2

On Day 2, you should again travel around the map looking for any nearby settlements and dispatch them all. When both your Skills are active, your team can safely take down a stronger field Boss. You could even lure a Boss into a nearby settlement and raise friendly ghosts to fight against them.

By the end of Day 2, you should have multiple Seals that allow you to cast different incantations (we recommend combining AoE, high-range, and quick melee incantations).

Try to obtain a Revive Stone from merchants before Day 3, it’ll come in handy during Night Bosses.

Day 3

At day 3, remember to buy any suitable equipment with the leftover runes, upgrade your main weapon, and head on to face the Night Lord.

Revive Stones are particularly great with Revenant during Night Bosses and Night Lord fights since, that way, you can avoid using your Ultimate Skill for your own safety; instead utilizing it when both your teammates are down, and time it with your “Summon Spirit” Skill for maximum effect.

During boss fights, you want to keep your distance at all times, only going in and out of range to dish out damage while your minions do the work. When you’re targeted by attacks, always run away.

The Revenant’s playstyle greatly differs from any other class, as she acts more as a battle commander than a fighter; she only exposes herself when it is absolutely safe to do so. Knowing the Bosses’ attacks and patterns will allow you to safely cast more incantations, too, boosting your overall damage.

Additional Tips

  • The Revenant can clear camps with multiple enemies extremely fast due to her passive Skill, which raises friendly ghosts from enemies killed. Once you bring down a few enemies, the ghosts will do the rest of the work for you.
  • Your Ultimate Skill, “Immortal March” can revive fallen allies, but also empowers your summons: They will do a special Attack when this Skill is triggered, so you can even use it as a last-resort tool to dish out extreme damage when all your summons are active.
  • Equipping Seals with different elemental or ailment incantations will offer you a higher diversity of options when taking down bosses. In particular, you should at least have one that has an elemental advantage against the target Night Lord.
