Build Overview

This Dread Claws build absolutely decimates the endgame, being one of Warlocks overall best builds, that requires literally no gear to work exceptionally well. The damage is insane even competing with Apocalypse, being able to complete a pit 132. It is much tankier as well which is nice. This will EASILY get you all the way from Torment 1 to Torment 12.

Make sure to check out the leveling guide if you're just starting out, you can literally use this skill all the way from level 1 to pit 130.

This build doesn't rely on any items to get going, it's very strong right out of the gate, but here's the items that take it to the next level:

  1. Litany of Sable is a pretty significant damage increase, simply just makes dread claws do more damage. It can be obtained by killing Astaroth in escalation nightmare dungeons, or crafting it via the Horadric Cube, which you can do my removing affixes on a 900 item power dagger to make it common, and then turning it into a unique
  2. Seed of Horazon and Night Terror are both very good amulet options and in good gear perform similarly. Night Terror is better early game before you have a lot of gear with maximum resource on it, but the damage is more conditional and relies on you being in Terror Demon Metamorphosis for full damage, which is why I personally prefer Seed of Horazon - you can use them interchangeably, and truthfully you should just use whatever amulet you happen to get a better roll of. Seed of Horazon drops from Grigoire, and Night Terror drops from Andariel
  3. Godslayer Crown is entirely optional and just works well for speedfarming content, drops from Andariel as well
  4. Footfalls of the Waning World are an incredible defensive option for us as it allows us to spam Nether Step for huge damage reduction, in addition to no longer needing Nether Step on our bars. These are entirely useless if they don't roll with +maximum evade charges or attacks reduce evade cooldown

Planner Fixes

  • Overpower is actually Overpower per Stack.

Affix Priority

  1. Critical Strike Damage Multiplier
    1. It's by far our strongest affix once we get a high Critical Strike Chance
  2. Vulnerable Damage Multiplier
  3. All Damage/Shadow Damage Multiplier
  4. Attack Speed
  5. Willpower
  6. Weapon Damage
  7. Maximum Life
You want at least 1 piece with vuln damage multi greater affix + MW crit > crit multi once you have really high crit multi due to diminishing returns.
  8. Armor

If you feel squishy prioritize more life/armor on your gear

Transfigurations

For the love of god do not transfigure your items unless you are deep into endgame / 100% certain you won't need to change anything about that item again

I still don't know all of the possible transfigurations but here's my best estimation for BiS transfigures per item

  • Aspect of Rallying Reversal or Undying Aspect Transfiguration on Amulet - Some people use Exploiter's Aspect but I'm personally not a fan, even in pushing scenarios
  • For weapons the best transfigure is to try and get Gem Strength Multiplier on a 2her as this is a massive damage increase. The Grandfather is very easy to acquire so it's a good candidate for trying to spam this until you get it, however it's a very low likelihood. It'll be better than Litany of Sable + offhand if you get gem transfig and have flawless amethysts
  • Other good weapon options include: Crit Chance > Attack Speed > Quality > Shadow Damage Multi > % Max Life > Willpower
  • Heir of Perdition try and get gem strength multi and put an Amethyst + Sapphire in it, otherwise Crit Chance > Attack Speed > Quality > SHadow Damage Multi > Willpower
  • Armor: Attack Speed > % Max Life > % Resistance > Quality > Shadow Damage Multi > Willpower
  • Jewelry: +4 Occult/All Skills > Willpower > Quality > Resistance to all elements >

Talismans

Talisman Priority
+5

Berú of the Nameless 5 set is extremely good, but hard to get the full set. Technically Fer of Harash's Shadow 5 set is BiS, swap to that if you get it. For a long time I used 3pc nameless + 2pc fulcrum and it was pretty solid.

Talisman notes

Banished Lord's Talisman lords is BiS providing 96% increased damage assuming you have 100% crit chance, which you should, however if you can't find it here are some other decent alternatives

Crown of Lucion is similarly powerful but induces a steep resource cost
Anathema of the Primes is decent for damage
Temerity is very good allowing you to not have to use the actual pants themselves

Points are spent on Dark Prison because we are using the 'Prid' rune to gain it for free, it gives an insane defensive layer.
