Build Overview

This build is all around spamming Molten Roil for HUGE slams which is so much fun. WIth the power of DAMAGE FORMULA you can TRIPLE DIP your damage with INSANE dots from Raging Inferno

DISCLAIMER: this build cannot clear all content. The game was not designed well with Molten Slam in mind with flying enemies and just enemies with weird hit boxes. So this is more of a for fun build than anything BUT uses the same gear as other action skill Amon builds meaning you will probably have the gear or will use the gear on other things anyways

Strengths And Weaknesses

  • INCREDIBLY FUN
  • Great Survivability
  • Great mobbing
  • Does great for bossing when it does work
  • Bosses limited to stuff Molten Slam can hit and do enough damage to (armor bars like Radix don't do well)
  • Sometimes weird with hit boxes
  • Very gear specific

Build Variants

This is the main spec focused on optimizing bossing w/ 10/5 Raging Inferno. Can still use Groundbreaker because of the building up from Molten Roil pyre although not as good as Berserk version

Action Skill:

Onslaughter - used for melee damage to ONE PUNCH ENEMIES with the Raging Inferno DoT. Great filler in between slams and counts as melee attack for Fists of Stone

Pyroclast - great for mobbing as it keeps up our action skill.

Thermal Diffusion - used for bossing with a high capacity shield if you want to use Onslaughter for damage in bossing. The damage boost is additive with base onslaughter damage before the damage formula is applied making it VERY STRONG.

Fellfrost- solid mobbing damage. Although converted to fire because of Furnace effect.

Molten Roil - the pyre itself is a DOUBLE DIP making it extremely good and a MUST HAVE capstone for this build.

Red Tree:

Discombobulate - increased crit chance for more Raging Inferno procs

What Burns Within - triple dips from Molten Roil slam to the Pyre to Raging Inferno

Gut Punch - Damage boost that triple dips

Tritanium Knuckles - damage boost double dips in Molten Roil

Forged In Steel - Immunity to damage which helps survivability. Especially in bossing. Cannot spam forge skill enough for permanent uptime but it's nice when it does happen

The Best Defense - Overshield for survivability. Can get more points from Tritanium Knuckles if you have survivability issues.

Catastrophe - Increased crit chance for proccing Raging Inferno. Shock part kept up from Electrical Fire DoT.

Fists of Stone - Using Slippy to keep up. With Protean Cell or Watts 4 Dinner you can double the procs. This is a key skill

Electrical Fire - Take our Raging Inferno and divide it by 50% and have a triple dipped shock dot. Allowing us to easily cover shielded enemies. This skill itself does not triple dip but if using a triple dipping skill it takes that base damage. Not the best uptime though as the base slam can proc Raging Inferno which would then activate Electrical Fire and then go on cooldown which means its only a double dip and not a triple dip. This is a key skill

Green Tree:

Executioner - applies to all damage

Destruction Engine - double dips into Molten Roil pyre

Herald's Call - applies to Electrical Fire and Protean Cell bonus element

Tempered Pyre, Twin Tempers, Tempered Lightning, Tempered Ice - more procs of Fists of Stone for more spam.

Raging Inferno - double dip and potential TRIPLE DIP if it comes from Molten Roil pyre. Carries the bossing. This is a key skill

Blue Tree:

The Thrill - some nice survivability

Equipment

Weapons
Repkit & Ordnance
Utilities

Guns:

You will want to hold any splash weapon to benefit from the gun splash damage bonus on your Enhancement. When holding a splash gun and having gun splash damage it will act as all damage dealt. Making it an excellent stat stick. I go with the Stellium which is a high DoT Maliwan Shotgun which is easy to use with the Primed Potency Enhancement. Solid to shoot with mobbing

Jakobs Pistol Vial Launcher Underbarrel - This damage boost is great for min maxing. You can shoot the vial at the enemy then swap to the splash gun.

Mantra - w/ Jakobs and Ripper parts ideally. Priority depends on use for multi vs single target. Good for proccing Fists of Stone when needed and solid damage.

Ordnance:

Slippy - procs Fists of Stone and Gut Punch. Get points with +1 charge

Shield:

Protean Cell - go to for bossing as the bonus element applies to Raging Inferno and counts as stored damage which will help boost our base damage of the Molten Roil pyre which leads to a stronger Raging Inferno triple dip. Will also double Fists of Stone procs making it extremely good for spam.

Firewerks - great for mobbing.

Watts 4 Dinner - decent bonus element and survivability during mobbing. Bonus element counts for stored damage and doubles Fists of Stone procs

Order Energy Shield Triple Turtle - Highest possible shield capacity found is around 65k. This is for Thermal Diffusion

Class Mod:

Melee Crit Chance or Skill Crit Chance is VERY noticeable and helpful as a passive. Gives consistency for DoTs which I prefer over basic soup damage boosts.

Furnace - points in Raging Inferno for double dipping dot. Paired with Molten Roil it's a TRIPLE DIPPING DOT.

Repkit:

Triple Bypass - used for Now With Caffeine to cycle Onslaughter

Get with Damage Dealt or Elemental Damage for min maxing damage that double/triple dips into Raging Inferno

Enhancement:

Anything goes for enhancement that matches with your gun of choice as long as it has the gun splash passive

If going with my recommended gun of choice the Stellium then get the Primed Potency Enhancement.

Bossing

2/3 Skillcraft - for the skill crit chance

2/3 Action Fist - double dips in Molten Roil

1/3 God Killer - damage boost triple dips from Molten Roil into Raging Inferno

Mobbing

1/3 Airstrike - splash radius increases slam size

2/3 Get Throwin - more splash radius. Ordnance damage is nice for Slippy but not huge

Remainder in Skillcraft

Specialization

Specialization 1Now With Caffeine
Specialization 2A Honed Mind
Specialization 3The Best Defense
Specialization 4Groundbreaker

Now With Caffeine - cycle Onslaughter easily

A Honed Mind - more crit chance for proccing Raging Inferno

The Best Defense - damage boost that triple dips

Groundbreaker - helps w/ bossing A LOT for faster kills. Apply via Onslaughter punch. The Molten Roil damage will build up a decent amount of damage

Gameplay

Mobbing:

Very simple

Activate Onslaughter

Use Molten Roil

Punch with Onslaughter to proc Fists of Stone and kill enemies

Use Slippy to proc Fists of Stone and kill enemies

Use Molten Roil again when its ready

Use Triple Bypass w/ Now With Caffeine to get back Onslaughter when it goes on cooldown

Bossing:

Throw a single Slippy to apply Gut Punch

Slam for Protean Cell

Activate Onslaughter to keep shield full

Use repkit for damage boost

Activate Molten Roil and pray it crits for Raging Inferno

Throw another Slippy (or as many as it takes) to proc Fists of Stone for Molten Roil and slam again

Can also use Onslaughter for Fists of Stone procs as well and just damage

Bloomreaper:

This is a bit of a juggle w/ some menu swapping to get Plat on UVH6. If you are just vibing and playing for fun then you don't need to do all of this

Gear used:

Setup 1: Shatterwight, Triple Bypass, Slippy, Watts 4 Dinner, Mantra, Quintain, 2/3 Skillcraft, 2/3 Get Throwin, 1/3 Airstrike

Setup 2: Furnace, Triple Bypass 2 w/ AS cooldown, Slippy 2, Watts 4 Dinner 2, Mantra, Quintain, 2/3 Skillcraft 2/3 Action Fist 1/3 God Killer

the "2" on these items mean a 2nd one. I suggest the repkit, grenade, and shield be the ones you change for splash radius

Start w/ Setup 1

Throw Slippy right before the crystals spawn ontop of them to have There Is Only Red stacked as fast as possible

Spam Molten Roil over and over until all the crystals are gone. May need to shoot Mantra sometimes for more cooldown and if there are a few floating orbs left

Change to Setup 2

When Bloomreaper lands on the platform throw Slippy at him to stack There Is Only Red again

Activate Onslaughter

Use Molten Roil and pray for a crit on the Pyre for a nasty Raging Inferno dot

Punch via Onslaughter for Groundbreaker and a potential 2nd Raging Inferno dot.

TIP: Bloomreaper may do a jump attack during this. Make sure he is done the attack before you punch or it is likely you will miss

Keep using the Molten Roil + Onslaughter combo until the next phase. You should get it down before Onslaughter ends. If it ends early then change activating Onslaughter to INSTANTLY after you slam to then go right to punching. Can also use Mantra for Molten Roil cooldown

Once Onslaughter ends during immunity phase spam your Triple Bypass to get it back as soon as possible.

When the immune phase ends then repeat the previous Molten Roil and Onslaughter combo to finish him off

My casual runs w/ really good gear was around a 1:15 to close 1:30.

ADDITIONAL TIP: The knockback SUCKS for this fight w/ Molten Roil. You will get hit back mid animation and it can ruin you. You will see. You will learn. You will adapt. You will still cry when it happens
