Overview

Gearbox has now confirmed that we are getting a level cap increase to LEVEL 60! This gives us 10 more skill points which will do A LOT for buildcrafting for enhancing current builds or creating new ones

HOWEVER this does mean refarming gear at level 60. And with all the part variance in this game and no systems of crafting/modification it's really gonna suck. So this guide will go over the items you should hold on to as they will still be VERY USEFUL even once you hit level 60.

This will allow you to focus on farming the most important stuff like Guns and Heavy Ordnances. Some of these items you may never need to replace! They could just always be better than level 60 items you find. Yay insanely impossible part variance to where you will rarely ever see the same drop twice!

This guide is not just about legendaries but also about purple non uniques as many builds benefit from them.

Enhancements

Enhancements do a lot for your build!

A common thing with enhancements is that it gives On Shot Gun Damage which is a mult to regular gun damage. To find out what is and isn't regular gun damage you can check out the damage formula guide.

Gun Damage and Gun Type Damage passives is an easy way to get this damage. Enhancements effects that deal gun damage will also be on shot. This allows for an easy multiplier to where if you compare the same exact enhancement but with and without those bonuses you could have huge damage differences. Now of course there are niche instances like Harlowe w/ many stacks of Group Study and Rafa w/ El Soldado when charging APOPHIS Lance but I still like to have that damage because it is consistent damage

Then you also have the other types of enhancements that may give crit chance, extra ricochets, and high fire rate that cannot be easily replaced.

Gun Splash Damage and Gun Status Damage are passives that are not a multiplier but instead soup. see damage formula guide linked above for this term. What's whacky with these passives is they don't only apply to guns. They apply to almost anything. Making these really good to have. Gun Splash Damage acts as damage dealt bonus so is great for boosting double dips. Gun Status Damage is a little cherry on top if you are doing status damage on non gun builds. Like Amon has Raging Inferno, Tail of the Comet, and Blackout.

Class Mods

Class mods can really change how strong a build is. Whether it's the legendary effect or skill rolls it's going to do a lot.

Focusing on Legendary Effects makes it easier to farm a new one but if you are looking for legendary effect and skill rolls then it becomes harder

For example:

Dancer effect is very important but getting The Thrill or Temerario will also do a lot. This could give you an extra 65% fire rate or 150% gun damage.

Then you have class mods for just the skills.

Furnace let's you get Raging Inferno pretty easily and helps some builds where there isn't enough skill points to get it from skill tree. A lot of builds will also grab it from skill tree AND get it from class mods to deal the most damage possible

Shatterwight let's you get Berserk which is really only useful if you have There Is Only Red but this turns your 210% bonus element into a 420% bonus element! The damage difference is noticeable

Then you also have purple class mods which have NO DEDICATED DROP making these really hard to farm. I have high mods to increase purple drop rates and not found a level 50 Icebringer w/ +5 points into Tail of the Comet. I am using a level 23 one I got from a friend. If you find a class mod w/ +5 or +3 into what you want and good passives then you won the lottery

Utility Guns

For the most part you are using guns for damage which means you will want to farm level 60 versions ASAP but there are some utility guns that help with boosting your damage or proccing effects. This can be possible for gun and non gun builds

Vial Launcher - spawns on Jakobs Pistols which gives a 30% damage boost

Target Marker - spawns on Ripper Snipers which gives a 35% damage boost

Support Drone - spawns on Tediore ARs which gives damage boost, healing, and movement speed

Taser - spawns on Vladof SMGs and can be great for proccing gun effects like Riddle You This. It's tech I've been meaning to use on my Heavy Ordnance Amon build but I havent. There are other examples but this is the one that sticks with me the most

Melee Blade - spawns on many guns but only actually works on Maliwan Shotgun because why not. This also only applies to punching so really only nice for Onslaughter punching build as it gets the bonus.

Utility Grenades

These grenades are just for utility so the damage of it doesn't matter. In fact in ideal gear you would want this gear at the lowest levels so the damage doesn't hurt you to where you could down yourself. But that's A LOT of farming at low levels.

Slippy - for proccing melee skills like My Touch Is Death or CQC

Crit Knife - it's pure utility (unless you use it on a grenade build)

Lingering Grenades - These grenades when paired with Alchemic Augment is 60% status chance making it amazing for proccing status effect skills like Fiesta, Awe, and Primal Surge.

Firepot - This is an amazing damage grenade but sometimes can just be used for utility like with Harlowe and applying Entanglement via Nuclear Winter or stacking up Riddle You This

Repkits

Repkit level only really matters if you are using it for healing and even then it might be flexible if it isn't your only healing. There are some builds that do rely on it and if so then you definitely want to farm up a level 60 version

Triple Bypass - commonly used w/ Now With Caffeine for getting back your action skill very fast

Kill Spring - the healing from using this repkit doesn't matter as much as the legendary effect of healing you on kill.

War Paint - the legendary effect does not scale w/ level

Repkit Parts - the parts on repkits do not scale w/ level (not counting the healing and cooldown parts) so if you are using those purely for utility or damage then you can keep those. For example, a popular repkit is using Order Repkit w/ 2 damage boosts for bossing

Shields

For the most part shields are something you want on level and are probably something you should farm for but when you use parts on shields that do not scale w/ level and do not care about shield capacity then there is some leniency.

What comes to mind for me are Amp shields like Guardian Angel and Watts 4 Dinner. A level 60 shield w/ 50 or 100% amp parts is not going to beat a level 50 shield w/ 150% amp.

Keep in mind that shield capacity lvl 50 to 60 is a 42% increase which is major for survivability

Meta Guns

Meta guns like Spread Launcher, Bod, and Oscar Mike Space Laser are already doing overkill damage so it is likely that a lot of guns will be fine for a bit. The kills might be slower but still possible.

There is a 160% Enemy Health increase which is big but not the biggest possible. Especially if you don't play on True mode.
