Borderlands 4: Harlowe Overview

With Borderlands 4 right around the corner, I figure it's time to showcase Harlowe, the Gravitar.

Harlowe focuses mainly on Crowd Control, Action Skill Spam, Shield Capacity, and Status Effects/DOT. Her two Prime Elements are Radiation and Frost, so you will be expecting a lot of Frozen Corpses and EXPLOSIONS!

This quick guide will break down some of her promising skills, build archetypes, and type of gear you should be looking out for.

Note: This guide was written pre-launch, so take everything with a grain of salt.

All three of her action skills look interesting and potentially broken when built-around.

First, we have CHROMA Accelerator. In my opinion, this is her strongest action skill so far. The Shattering Light and Containment Breach combo makes the action skill do ton of damage on its own while Neutron Capture can amp up your guns to the point of absurdity.

Secondly, Flux Generator has huge co-op potential with Nuclear Winter, Unified Theory, Coronal Mass Ejection, and Group Study. Coronal Mass Ejection in particular could carry a lot of builds as it removes the enemy's Elemental Resistance and provides Status Effect Chance.

Finally, there's Zero-Point. If you love Phasegrasp in BL3, you will love Zero-Point. It's basically Phasegrasp but with the twist of being able to slam the enemy around. Great for mobbing, but might struggle at bossing if there are no smaller enemies around.

These are some Harlowe skills that you should consider for your builds.

• Decoherence provides a valuable double-dipping debuff that multiplies your damage. I'd recommend going for this if you have enough points.
• Confirmative Reality seems like an insane cooldown skill when paired with a low level, high fire-rate gun. It could be the enabler for the action skill spamming strat.
• Gamma Ray Burst or Neutron Capture seem like the way to go for single-target gun builds.
• Alternative Fuel Source is a ton of damage for CHROMA Accelerator, especially when paired with The Shattering Light.
• Distribution Function gives insane shield regen considering we have the ability to spam action skills with Confirmative Reality. This skill is also great when paired with Gamma Ray Burst or Alternative Fuel Source.
• Dirty Bomb is a clear single-target double-dipping for Harlowe which might make status effect the best build archetype for her.
• Make Extraordinary gives a huge DPS increase to your action skills. I'm 80% sure this is a must-have for any action skill damage builds.
• Domino Effect is a skill to look out for as it can be a triple dip similar to Play the Angles in Wonderlands.

Neutron Capture Builds are by far the strongest builds theory-crafted so far, with Radiation Status Effect Builds being the second strongest thanks to Dirty Bomb.

Both CHROMA Accelerator and Flux Generator Damage Builds have the potential be strong too.

Harlowe's conventional Gun Builds will excel at mobbing while struggling at bossing (unless you manage the additional enemies well). The same can be said for Zero-Point Builds.

Melee Builds don't have enough support to be viable for Harlowe.
