Senna

Senna is the first champion on our list, and if you’ve been playing LoL lately, then you know why. Senna is a very popular champion in the current meta, and her aggressive play style allows for her to carry games. This makes her a great candidate if you’re looking for a new champion to main as she doesn’t have to rely on her allies as much as she can carry the game.

Playing Senna is pretty simple: she has a lot of good matchups in the current meta. This is great as it will increase your chances of winning the game when you’re playing in a good matchup. When we look at Senna’s kit and compare it to some other champions, she has global map pressure (with her Ultimate), and CC with her W which allows her to make plays in lane.

Senna Mid-Patch Stats:

  • Senna isn’t getting any buffs or nerfs this patch.
  • Her win rate in patch 14.2 was 52.4%.
  • She had a 12.1% Pick Rate.
  • Senna is really annoying to play against in both the ADC and Support role. Unsurprisingly, she has a ban rate of 11.1%
  • In Emerald+, she was played 234,477 times.

Rakan

The next champion on our list of the best Supports for Patch 14.2 is Rakan. Rakan is one of the strongest and most versatile champions in League of Legends. His kit is incredible, as he has both engage tools and utility tools to empower and protect his teammates. In team fights, he is really strong and can both peel and engage.

When playing Rakan, you should look to be aggressive as often as possible. Depending on the AD synergy, you can play aggressively at level 1. More commonly, he will usually look for a level 2 all-in. Post 6, Rakan should look for plays whenever his Ultimate is available to him. Good times to fight or look for plays are when the enemy has mispositioned, used their dash or once they’ve used a key damaging ability.

Rakan Mid-Patch Stats:

  • There doesn’t seem to be any buffs or nerfs directed towards Rakan in this patch.
  • Rakan’s win rate on patch 14.2 was 51.6%.
  • He had a 7% Pick Rate.
  • Rakan is honestly one of the more annoying Supports to play against, and that is why he has a 2% ban rate.
  • In Emerald+, he was played 135,533 times.

Brand

Brand will be a third champion recommendation this patch. While he is receiving nerfs, his performance has always been quite high and in the right hands he can always carry. Brand is a great champion for people who want to learn Support as he is simple to play and you can easily carry on him. As teams love to pick full AD, picking Brand allows you to deal some mixed-team damage.

In low ELO, Brand can be an unstoppable force due to many players either underestimating his damage output, or not being able to dodge his abilities. Apart from his Q, the rest of his abilities are easy to land, so you’re going to deal a lot of damage. Regardless of how good or bad you are, you can deal considerable damage in the lane and in team fights.

Brand Mid-Patch Stats:

  • There are nerfs to Brand, but I feel like he is going to be a fantastic champion with these nerfs.
  • Brand’s win rate in patch 14.2 was 52.6%.
  • He had a 2.9% Pick Rate.
  • We all knew how strong Brand was in the Jungle role this patch, and he is meant he was banned a lot. He had a 21.3 Ban Rate.
  • In Emerald+, he was played 56,700 times.

Rell

This might pick might surprise you if you look purely at stats as she is no longer one of the most picked Supports around. Rell is the 4th champion on our list and if you love engage champions, than Rell is definitely going to be for you. She has strong carry potential with the ability to make plays and get picks with her CC tools. Her main power spikes are at level 1, 2 and level 6.

The key when playing Rell is to not be afraid of making plays. You need to be aggressive and look for plays as often as possible. Preferably, try to bait out abilities and then go in. Post 6, you should be looking for plays with your Ultimate whenever it is up. The best Rell players are consistently playing around their Ultimates to get kills in their lane or another.

Rell Mid-Patch Stats:

  • It looks like Rell isn’t getting any direct buffs or nerfs this patch.
  • Her win rate in patch 14.2 was 51.5%.
  • It honestly surprises me how few games Rell has this patch. She only had a 3.1% pick rate.
  • She is sitting at a 1.2% ban rate. I always ban Rell, regardless of the role I am playing, so I am apart of this statistic!
  • In Emerald+, she was played 58,958 times.

Blitzcrank

And the final champion on our recommended Support picks for Patch 13.3 is going to be Blitzcrank. Blitzcrank is the arch nemesis for many low ELO players and people who cannot dodge skill shots. He can be quite hard to handle as one lapse in concentration can often leave you for dead.

Blitzcrank can be truly amazing as he is strong throughout all stages of the game. A good hook at level 1 can blow the enemy ADC Flash, and a level 2 all-in can be deadly too. Post 6, his Ultimate can be a direct counter to those utility champions with shields and heals. Blitzcrank is also a great roaming champion and good at getting picks and making plays.

Blitzcrank Mid-Patch Stats:

  • There doesn’t look to be any buffs or nerfs for this champion this time around.
  • Blitzcrank’s win rate in patch 14.2 was 51.9%
  • At the time of writing this article, Blitzcrank had a 8.6% Pick Rate.
  • A 24.8% Ban Rate. This is justified with such an annoying laning phase.
  • In Emerald+, he was played 166,314 times.
